Chapter 2 Self-Rescue!By the standards of the future, Muhe is a third-tier city.

The Municipal Bureau is located on Xinfei Road; due to the era, it lacks the imposing presence of the police buildings that would stand there in the future, looking somewhat old-fashioned and retro by modern standards.

”Please, Brother Mo.”

Liu Quan suppressed a smile; having caught so many criminals, this was his first time arresting a colleague, which felt quite novel.

”Take me to see the Instructor.”

Chen Mo watched Liu Quan snickering and knew his previous thought was correct; if he were really locked up, it would become a dark stain on his record.

Liu Quan, whose full name is Liu Quan, graduated from the same police academy as the original host; because they were the same age, they maintained a pretty good relationship.

”Yeah, lock this old man up first.”

Two minutes later, the two of them walked into the Instructor’s office.

He currently had two ways to save himself and finish spectating: one was to have Captain Long speak up, but he was at the crime scene; the other was the Instructor.

According to the original host’s memories, this Instructor’s name was Yang Jianguo, he was over 40 years old, had a gentle temperament, and was easy to talk to; undoubtedly, seeking him out was the best choice.

After explaining his purpose, the other man’s gaze immediately fell upon his handcuffs.

”Haha.”

”It’s just going through the motions; it’s fine for you to participate in the case to clear your name.”

”But you have to prove to me that you have the capability, right? Otherwise, everyone will feel more at ease if you stay inside honestly.”

After Yang Jianguo finished speaking, he shifted his gaze from the handcuffs and landed it back on Chen Mo’s eyes.

He felt that the Chen Mo before him was somewhat different from the one he had seen before, with an added sense of confidence in his eyes.

”That is only natural.”

He had already thought of a strategy in his mind before coming; if he wanted others to help, he had to prove his own value—that was the logic everywhere.

The image of the deceased lying on their back in the alley, with intestines spilled all over the ground, surfaced in his mind.

”In my view, this case can be characterized as premeditated crime, and the perpetrator had a very clear goal when committing the act: to cut open the deceased’s stomach.”

”In crimes of passion, there are very few instances of cutting open the entire stomach of the deceased.”

Yang Jianguo nodded upon hearing this, as this case was quite heinous, and whenever there was progress, Long Hao would send someone to report to him.

The results obtained from the crime scene indeed confirmed that the perpetrator had committed premeditated murder.

”That’s correct, but it’s not enough.”

Chen Mo pursed his lips; he knew too few clues.

But the good news was that, judging by the Instructor’s reaction, his deduction was correct.

”I only took one look at the deceased’s condition; to elaborate further, the perpetrator’s emotions should have been agitated when committing the crime.”

”But I don’t believe there was a grudge between the two, because looking at the deceased’s stomach, the perpetrator only stabbed once, and the second cut began the work of disembowelment; it seems more like the purpose of the murder was to disembowel!”

The instant his words fell, Yang Jianguo, who had originally just been asking casually, froze for a moment.

After reacting, he looked at Chen Mo in surprise.

”How do you know these things?”

After speaking, he looked at Liu Quan, who had been silent the whole time, and asked, ”Did you tell him?”

These were the latest developments transmitted back to him by Long Hao a dozen minutes ago, confirming that the perpetrator was indeed aiming to disembowel the deceased.

Because... the deceased’s two kidneys and privates had all been taken by the perpetrator.

He had seen the crime scene photos; the deceased was covered by clothing, and if one didn’t pull it aside to check, one couldn’t arrive at this conclusion.

Unless Liu Quan, who was by his side, had told Chen Mo.

”No!”

Liu Quan, who had been watching the show, suddenly found himself scapegoated out of nowhere and hurriedly waved his hands to prove it wasn’t him.

Because he had just arrived at the scene and was immediately assigned to escort Brother Mo and that old man back, he didn’t know what the situation at the crime scene was either.

Yang Jianguo nodded and subsequently dialed Long Hao, but while the line remained clear, no one answered.

He then looked at Chen Mo and said solemnly, ”So you deduced the perpetrator’s motive through the wounds; are you sure you didn’t see the deceased’s privates and two kidneys?”

He didn’t believe that Liu Quan and Chen Mo would collude to deceive him just to go to the crime scene and participate in the case.

In that case, was what he said just now truly deduced by himself?

A hidden criminal investigation expert?

To be able to arrive at the exact same conclusion without knowing the information that the deceased’s privates and two kidneys had been taken by the perpetrator.

That’s quite impressive.

Just at this moment, the phone on the desk rang.

...

At the same time.

In Xinba Village under the cover of night, the crime scene was tightly sealed off, with red and blue police lights flashing frantically, warning all onlookers not to approach.

Fine sweat dripped down Long Hao’s forehead; his left hand directed the situation at the scene, while his right hand held the phone to his ear, waiting for the Instructor to answer.

Directly in front of him was a very narrow alley; this alley could not be used for passage because it was the safety distance reserved between two residential houses.

At this moment, the deceased in this case was lying inside, with several beams of light illuminating the interior brightly.

The corpse was lying flat, the stomach opened from the middle, intestines spilled all over the ground; overall, it looked abnormally bloated. It seemed that after being illuminated by the strong light for a long time, dozens of flies hesitantly flew away from the corpse, and upon closer inspection, one could see dense white maggots squirming on the body.

It was disgusting; when they first saw it, everyone had vomited a round, but by now they had developed some immunity.

The most conspicuous things were the missing privates and the two kidneys of the deceased.

Why would the perpetrator do this?

Human organ trafficking?

Since when did this bunch of rats dare to be so arrogant? It doesn’t look like their style of doing things.

If this question isn’t figured out, it will be very difficult for the case to proceed smoothly.

This gave him a massive headache; the only clues at the scene were the footprints of Chen Mo and that old man.

”Hello, Long Hao.”

A voice suddenly came from the phone, calling him back from his chaotic thoughts.

He quickly understood the Instructor’s purpose and replied after giving it some thought.

”Liu Quan and Chen Mo are indeed unaware of the situation on my end; the deceased’s chest is largely exposed, but the area of the privates and the two kidneys was covered by the perpetrator with clothing. I am certain no one had moved the clothing before this.”

On the other end of the line, Yang Jianguo was silent for a moment before asking, ”How is the situation of the case currently?”

”It rained on the day of the incident, and no other useful clues were found at the scene, only the footprints of Chen Mo and that old man. I plan to try analyzing the perpetrator’s motive to advance the case.”

When Long Hao said this, his tone was somewhat lacking in confidence. Analyzing the motive for the crime without any clues was quite difficult, and he had no certainty at all, but if he didn’t do this, the case wouldn’t have any progress.

”I have someone here who should be able to help you.”

”Who?” Many faces appeared in Long Hao’s mind, but he skipped past them all; he couldn’t think of anyone who could help him at this moment.

”You’ll know when you get here.”
