Officer! You Can Get a First-class Merit Awards Just by Eating Melon Seeds?

Chapter 6 Grilled Human KidneysUnder the moonlight, Chen Mo’s tone made the atmosphere at the scene much heavier.

Long Hao and the other police officers all realized that this person with a mole between his eyebrows was very likely the killer.

The Instructor had been helping them withstand the pressure regarding this case, which allowed them to focus on the investigation.

No one wanted anything less than to solve it as soon as possible.

At this moment, the result was within reach.

”He was an old man, probably in his sixties, with very little hair. At the time, I was curious about how he still had so much energy at his age, so I chatted with him for a bit.”

Another person added, ”I’ve chatted with him too. He kept a straight face as if someone owed him money. He was married and then divorced; anyway, it’s exactly the same as what you told us, Officer.”

”We’ve said everything we know. Can you let us go now?”

Long Hao waved his hand, signaling the officers to create a sketch based on their descriptions.

By frequently questioning these few, it could be confirmed that the killer was a local resident.

Just take the sketch and verify it with the village chief.

...

At the same time.

Darkness shrouded a residential house; the interior was dilapidated and cluttered.

The charcoal fire under the barbecue grill illuminated a somewhat wrinkled face inside the room.

”Almost done, almost done...”

There was a sickly anticipation and a hint of urgency in the old man’s eyes.

It seemed as if the meat currently on the grill was his very life.

He flipped the meat he was grilling, and with his wrinkled hand, pinched some salt and sprinkled it over the meat skewered on the iron rod.

The bloody scent was masked, and a savory aroma instantly spread throughout the room.

He took a deep breath, his face wearing a perverted expression of enjoyment.

He had endured for over thirty years. As long as he ate this, he would be powerful, he would be powerful...

He kept repeating these words in his mouth.

Just like a drug addict seeing narcotics.

Gulp.

At this moment, the sound of someone swallowing saliva rang out behind him.

In the pitch-black room, he slowly turned his head to look behind him.

Under the reflection of the charcoal fire, his expression was so gloomy, so evil.

”Don’t be impatient. This one is for me to eat. There will be something for you to eat in a while.”

After saying this, he turned his head back, took the grilled meat off the heat, sniffed it carefully at the tip of his nose, and opened his mouth to take a bite.

He had waited too long for this moment.

— Bang!

Right at this moment, accompanied by a loud noise, the door was kicked open instantly.

”Don’t move! Police!”

...

Twenty minutes later.

Muhe Municipal Bureau.

In the corridor outside the interrogation room.

Chen Mo looked inside through the one-way mirror. Long Hao was leading the interrogation.

The person currently sitting in the interrogation chair was named Wang Guodong. According to his statement, he was 60 years old this year, and he decisively admitted to killing the person. As for the reason, it was no different from what had been previously deduced.

He had set his sights on the victim Yang Ming’s golden kidneys, and proceeded to take action.

”I heard that when you caught him, he was just about to eat.”

Instructor Yang Jianguo walked over, speaking with disgust.

Chen Mo recalled the scene he saw when they rushed in, and he also felt a bit nauseous.

”Yes, he must have been agonizing over whether to boil or grill it beforehand.”

After speaking, he pointed to the disheveled woman in the adjacent interrogation room.

The woman looked to be about thirty years old, sporting a big belly; it was obvious she was pregnant.

”She was picked up by Wang Guodong on the side of the road half a year ago. She has intellectual disabilities, and the child in her belly is likely Wang Guodong’s.”

”This person truly deserves to die.”

Intentional homicide, organ harvesting, sexual assault, illegal detention...

”Indeed. Fortunately, you were on this case; otherwise, it would have taken a lot of effort to catch him.” Yang Jianguo smiled and expressed his praise to Chen Mo.

Basically, every time there was progress, he would report it to him.

But ever since Chen Mo arrived, the frequency of every report had shortened from several hours to just over ten minutes.

It was too fast.

It truly shattered his previous, inherent impression of Chen Mo.

Why wasn’t he this capable before?

This was not just his question, but also the question of Long Hao and the other team members.

But since Chen Mo didn’t mention it, he didn’t feel it was appropriate to ask voluntarily.

Anyway, this was a good thing for them.

”By the way, didn’t you have a friend locked up in the detention cell?”

Chen Mo, who was watching the interrogation, heard this and slapped his forehead.

How could he have forgotten about Uncle Wang.

He hurried toward the detention cell. Since the case was solved, he could naturally release him now.

— Creak.

The door of the detention cell was opened by Chen Mo with a key.

Uncle Wang’s full name was Wang Wu. He was 58 years old this year, a bit short, and was a rather amiable old man.

”What are you doing? Are you trying to sneak me out?”

Uncle Wang looked left and right, hurriedly stopping Chen Mo’s actions.

Although they had a good relationship, doing something like this would turn a non-issue into a real problem.

As for Chen Mo telling him before he left that he would save him, he hadn’t taken it to heart at all.

After all, they had known each other for quite some time, and he knew the extent of this kid Chen Mo’s capabilities; he was just a small fry.

”Didn’t I tell you? I’d save you once the case was solved.”

”I just solved the case.”

Chen Mo opened the door wider, signaling that he could come out.

”You?”

Uncle Wang showed a look of suspicion, then couldn’t help but want to laugh.

Young people just love to show off!

Unlike him, he was already immune to these kinds of things.

”What? Do you have an opinion?” Chen Mo also felt his contempt and immediately asked back.

”Believe, of course I believe.”

Perfunctory.

Too perfunctory.

In fact, the two were just chatting casually; they were like this on a daily basis.

”I’ll just take it that you believe me. Maybe one day I’ll even be the captain of our Municipal Bureau’s criminal investigation team.”

He said it casually; to him, it shouldn’t be too difficult.

”Showing off again. If you really manage to get that position, I’ll call you ’Uncle’ from now on.”

The two walked out of the Municipal Bureau, chatting aimlessly.

”You’ll really call me that?”

”I really will!”

Xingfu Jiayuan Community was only a little over a kilometer away from the Municipal Bureau; it was a short walk away.

Before parting ways, Chen Mo said seriously, ”This incident was purely an accident. If there’s any new gossip later, be sure not to forget about me.”

On one hand, he was worried that this incident would affect Uncle Wang’s hobby, leading him to retire from the scene, which would mean losing a source of information.

On the other hand, there was the Gossip System. Reasonably and emotionally, he couldn’t afford to lose Uncle Wang.

Just like the West cannot be without Jerusalem.

”I’ve lived for so many years; what’s a little trip to the police station? It’s no big deal.”

He said this and walked off on his own.

Chen Mo watched his back and the corner of his mouth twitched. Back in the police car, Uncle Wang’s face had turned pale with fear.

This was the same reaction any ordinary person would have the first time they went to the Public Security Bureau.

Just as he was inserting the key to enter the door, his phone suddenly rang.

He took it out and saw that it was a call from a woman labeled ’Sun Yuanyuan’.

Memories related to this person couldn’t help but surface in his mind.

The original owner’s ex-girlfriend from when he was in police academy.

It was almost two in the morning; was she drunk and begging to get back together?

Or did she lose a game of Truth or Dare?

Another piece of gossip to eat.

While answering the phone, he quickly walked into the house.
