I Created a Containment Object at the Start, and Became a God

48: Special Response Team! Lei Zhen!Three days passed in a flash.

Outside the abandoned urban area of Qingshi Mountain, the forces of the Bureau of Anomalous Affairs Investigation’s Longcheng branch had assembled.

Twelve elite special operations teams, over a hundred members clad in the latest psionic combat suits, and various specialized weapons designed for supernatural entities gleamed with a cold metallic luster in the morning light.

Further out, conventional armed forces had established a cordon. Heavy machine gun emplacements, howitzer positions, and even several main battle tanks were deployed, their muzzles all pointing towards the desolate abandoned urban area.

The air was thick with the oppressive atmosphere before a major battle.

From a vantage point, Branch Director Zhang Ji lowered his high-magnification psionic binoculars, his brows furrowed.

Beside him stood a tall female officer with a neat ponytail — Yu Qingkong, captain of the Second Team.

She tapped her tactical tablet impatiently: ”Old Zhang, how much longer do we have to wait?

According to thermal detection and psionic wave scans, the life signals of those three ‘things’ inside are getting stronger and stronger. And according to internal intel, they haven’t fully separated from the Mother Body yet. If we launch a full assault now, we can take them all out at once!”

Several other squad captains who had gathered around also chimed in. They had all witnessed the terror of UMAs and understood the importance of a preemptive strike.

Zhang Ji shook his head, his expression solemn: ”Intelligence indicates that the Monkey God Sect has been frantically consolidating its forces over the past seventy-two hours. All peripheral members and controlled UMAs have been recalled to the core area.”

He pulled up the latest enhanced images from the drone. ”We can now confirm that there are at least six ‘Fierce Beast-level’ (Class C) entities gathered inside, and possibly even ‘City Threat-level’ (Class B) individuals.

More importantly — the energy readings of those three ’Divine Fetus’ that are about to descend are already approaching the Class A threshold!”

He scanned the group, his tone heavy: ”Launching a rash assault without understanding their full strength isn’t combat, it’s suicide.

We need to wait for support from Headquarters’ ’Special Response Team.’ Only they can confront deities!”

Yu Qingkong was about to say something when suddenly, all their psionic detectors simultaneously blared a sharp alarm!

Three twisted beams of light shot up from the center of the abandoned urban area.

Just as the three eerie light beams soared into the sky, Zhang Ji and the others felt a pang in their hearts, realizing that the descent of the deities was about to be completed —

”Whoosh—”

A sharp whooshing sound came from high in the sky.

A black, unmarked high-speed transport plane streaked across the sky, and three black dots leaped out, defying gravity and plummeting towards the high ground where Zhang Ji and the others were, like meteors! They used no parachutes or cushioning devices.

”We’re here.” The bald, burly man in the lead spoke with a booming voice. He looked about fifty years old, dressed in a special dark combat suit, with bulging muscles on his exposed arms, where complex energy circuit tattoos were faintly visible.

He glanced at the Investigation Bureau team below, who were on high alert, grinned, and then turned his grave gaze towards the three increasingly thick and terrifyingly energetic light beams.

”Tsk tsk tsk, looking at these energy indices, the peak fluctuations have steadily crossed the Class A threshold, and they’re still climbing! It seems the guys inside have quite an appetite.” The bald strongman said to the young man and woman following closely behind him, ”Stick close to me, time to work!”

The man and woman looked to be in their early twenties. The man had a stern expression, while the woman gazed at the three light beams.

The trio landed with pinpoint accuracy like cannonballs on an open space not far behind Zhang Ji and the others.

”Bang!!!”

With a loud crash, a shallow crater was formed in the ground, and dust billowed.

”Alert!” Zhang Ji and Yu Qingkong shouted almost simultaneously. All special operations members instantly turned their muzzles and weapons, psionic shields lit up, and they nervously aimed at the center of the dust cloud.

They hadn’t even noticed how these three had approached!

The dust slowly dispersed, revealing the three figures within.

The bald strongman patted the dust off his combat suit, as if he had merely stepped down from a stair.

He looked at Zhang Ji and the others, who were on high alert, and showed a special emblem — an Omega symbol surrounded by stars, representing the top-tier “Special Response Team” of the Bureau of Anomalous Affairs Investigation Headquarters.

”Relax, boys.”

Amidst the swirling dust, a booming voice rang out: ”Yo, young Zhang Ji, haven’t seen you in a few years, how’d you end up having to tear down someone’s old den?”

As the dust settled, the leader was a bald, burly man of about fifty, nearly two meters tall, wearing a specially made restraint suit, with dark gold energy patterns covering his exposed skin.

Behind him followed a young man and woman, who appeared to be in their early twenties, but their eyes were sharp in a way not typical for their age.

”Director Lei Zhen!” Zhang Ji exclaimed in surprise, immediately saluting.

The newcomer was none other than the Deputy Director of the Bureau of Anomalous Affairs Investigation Headquarters, ”God of Thunder” Lei Zhen — also a symbiote, harboring a Class A UMA0098, Kui Xiao, a pure biological, lightning-type UMA, and one of the few top combatants in the country capable of directly confronting Class A UMAs.

Lei Zhen waved his hand, his gaze fixed on the three increasingly thick light beams, and smacked his lips: ”Good heavens, the energy index is almost off the charts, at least mid-Class A level.

It seems the monkey brats have been brewing something big.” The young man and woman behind him also curiously observed the light beams, showing no signs of tension.

”These two are...” Zhang Ji looked at the young man and woman.

”New recruits from Headquarters, bringing them out to see the world.” Lei Zhen patted his bald head.

Upon hearing this, Zhang Ji’s gaze lingered on the young man and woman for an extra moment.

Their auras were steady, their eyes sharp, and they faced the terrifyingly oppressive light beams soaring into the sky as if it were an ordinary sight, clearly not ordinary newcomers. But since Lei Zhen did not introduce them in detail, he was tactful enough not to ask further.

Lei Zhen stopped the pleasantries, his thick finger pointing at the abandoned urban area enveloped by the ominous light beams, his tone turning serious: ”Confirm that all the Monkey God Sect’s scum and those monstrous things are holed up inside?”

Zhang Ji immediately nodded, pulling up the final monitoring report on his tactical tablet: ”Confirmed! Over the past 72 hours, all active Monkey God Sect members have retreated to this core area.

We believe they are performing the final ritual, attempting to fully descend those three... Divine Fetus.”

”Very good.” Lei Zhen grinned, a bloody smile appearing, ”Then let’s give them a big gift first, warm up the stage!

Notify the perimeter forces, all heavy firepower, target those dilapidated buildings, ten minutes of saturation bombardment! First, plow the ground for me and clear out those annoying flies and minions!”

Zhang Ji was stunned for a moment upon hearing this order.

Saturation bombardment? There were still some abducted ordinary people inside... But he immediately saw the unquestionable cold light in Lei Zhen’s eyes, and the indifferent expressions of the young man and woman, and instantly understood.

In the eyes of Headquarters’ top combatants, some sacrifices were acceptable, even deemed necessary, to ensure the destruction of the highest threat. Moreover, according to intelligence, most of them were Southeast Asians, so they wouldn’t care too much.

”Understood!” Zhang Ji no longer hesitated, immediately connecting to the artillery command, ”This is Special Operations Command, authorization code Ω-7! All units attention, target Qingshi Mountain core area, indiscriminate saturation bombardment! Execute immediately!”

The moment the order was given, the desolate suburbs were suddenly torn apart by deafening roars!

”Boom! Boom! Boom!—!!!”

The artillery positions waiting in the distance spat out scorching tongues of fire. Heavy artillery, rockets, and even tank main guns roared simultaneously!

Countless shells trailing flames rained down like a storm, slamming into the abandoned urban area!

In an instant, the earth shook! Continuous explosions merged into a symphony of destruction, fire shot to the sky, thick smoke billowed, and shattered building debris and unidentified objects were hurled high into the air! The entire core area was instantly engulfed in smoke and flames!

Lei Zhen stood with his arms crossed, expressionlessly watching the area transform into a purgatory. The young man and woman behind him curiously observed the effects of the bombardment, whispering to each other.

Zhang Ji and Yu Qingkong and the others gripped their weapons, watching nervously.

They knew that the bombardment might clear out most of the ordinary cultists and low-level UMAs, but the real test — the three deities about to descend and their most powerful guardians — had only just begun.

Amidst the continuous bombardment, the three twisted light beams not only did not weaken but, against the backdrop of the explosions, became even more dazzling and eerie...
