I Created a Containment Object at the Start, and Became a God

20: UMA-1301, Tooth Charm! In an old residential complex, two young girls giggled as they walked into the dim stairwell.

”That silver-haired hottie at the coffee shop today was so handsome!” the girl with the ponytail nudged her companion with her elbow.

”What, you’re smitten?” the short-haired girl teased, ”As if you weren’t staring at him too!”

The two playfully walked into the dilapidated apartment building, only to find that the sound-activated light in the stairwell didn’t turn on as usual.

”What’s wrong with the property management?” The ponytail girl stomped her foot, but the light still didn’t respond. ”We reported it last week, and they still haven’t come to fix it!”

The short-haired girl pulled out her phone for light: ”Forget it, it’s so late, let’s just go home quickly.” She lowered her voice, pretending to be mysterious, ”Otherwise, it’ll be bad if we run into those ’monsters’ people are talking about online...”

”Ahhh, stop it!” The ponytail girl grabbed her companion’s arm in fright, but then couldn’t help but laugh, ”Stop scaring me, there are no monsters, it’s all just internet rumors...”

Before she could finish, a clear ”crunch” sound suddenly came from around the stairwell corner—like the sound of sharp teeth crushing bone.

The two girls instantly froze in place.

The ponytail girl clutched Xiao Ling’s sleeve tightly, her voice trembling: ”Xiao... Xiao Ling... could you actually have been right?”

Xiao Ling instinctively swallowed, her Adam’s apple bobbing: ”Don’t... don’t talk nonsense, there are no monsters in the world...” She forced herself to remain calm, raising her phone, her trembling finger pressing the flashlight switch, ”We must have imagined it...”

A blinding white light cut through the darkness, illuminating the empty stairwell. There were only a few old stains on the mottled walls, and a few broken cardboard boxes piled in the corner.

”See, I told you!” Xiao Ling let out a long breath, her tense shoulders finally relaxing.

Just as the two were about to take a step, the ponytail girl suddenly gasped, her finger trembling as she pointed to the stairwell corner: ”Th-there... something seems to be moving...”

Xiao Ling thought her friend was trying to scare her again and impatiently turned her head: ”Enough, it’s late at night—”

Her words abruptly stopped.

Under the phone’s light beam, a fist-sized black shadow slowly emerged from behind the cardboard box. At first, they thought it was a mouse, but when the thing fully revealed its head, the two girls’ blood instantly froze—

It was a miniature human head!

Its skin was a sickly grayish-white, and its facial features were twisted and squeezed together.

The most terrifying thing was its eyes—they had no pupils, only two murky white orbs that gleamed eerily in the light.

”Screech—”

The small creature suddenly let out a sharp cry, scaring the two girls into screaming and backing away simultaneously.

Even more terrifying, with this scream, more similar small heads suddenly emerged from behind the cardboard boxes, packed tightly together, at least twenty or more!

Among those two dozen grayish-white little monsters, a unique figure suddenly emerged—it was only the size of a mouse, but it had a messy head of black hair, clearly a female characteristic.

Most unsettling was that its eyes were exactly like human eyes, with clear black and white pupils staring intently at the two girls.

Even more horrifying, this little monster was clutching a bloody human finger, chewing on it with relish like it was an ear of corn.

It tilted its head, examining the two, then suddenly opened its mouth full of tiny, sharp teeth and took another ”crunch” out of the finger.

”Crunch, crunch”

That teeth-grinding chewing sound was exceptionally clear in the empty stairwell—it was the terrifying sound they had heard earlier!

”Ahhh—”

The girls’ screams almost tore off the roof.

The ponytail girl’s legs went weak, and she collapsed onto the ground, while Xiao Ling desperately dragged her backward. They scrambled backward on all fours, their fingernails scraping the ground with an ear-splitting sound.

The female little monster suddenly let out a strange ”cackle,” casually tossing aside the half-eaten finger.

The two dozen or so little monsters immediately swarmed towards the two girls from all angles—walls, ceiling, stair railings—as if receiving a command!

In extreme fear, Xiao Ling found the fire extinguisher in the stairwell and swung it at the first monster that lunged at them.

With a dull thud, the little monster was smashed, its bodily fluids splattering, but more monsters had already crawled to their feet!

”Help! Someone help us!”

Just as the foremost monster was about to pounce on the ponytail girl’s face, a silver light suddenly shot in from the stairwell window, precisely pinning that little monster to the wall!

The entire stairwell instantly fell into an eerie silence.

All the little monsters stopped moving, uniformly turning their heads to look at the stairwell entrance. Even the female little monster holding the human finger was stunned, its murky eyes wide.

Two slender figures emerged from the shadows. The one in the lead was Bai Ting—she had now changed into Team One’s iconic black combat armor, with two dark gold scimitars hanging at her waist.

Standing beside her was a cold and beautiful woman, Lin Shuang. She still held several silver needles between her fingers; that life-saving silver light had clearly come from her hand.

Bai Ting scanned the group of little monsters, a hint of excitement flashing in her eyes: ”I didn’t expect to encounter UMA-1301, ’Tooth Charm’.”

”Save, save us!” Xiao Ling and the ponytail girl sat paralyzed on the ground, their faces streaked with tears and snot.

Lin Shuang’s stern gaze swept across the stairwell, completely disregarding the grotesque little monsters.

She turned to Bai Ting and gave a brief command: ”Keep an eye on them.” Then she took out an ancient-looking bronze mirror from her waist and aimed it at the two terrified girls.

”Don’t be afraid, it will be over soon.” Lin Shuang’s voice was calm.

The bronze mirror suddenly burst forth with dazzling white light, enveloping the two girls. Their eyes instantly became vacant, and then they slumped softly to the ground.

Bai Ting watched this scene silently, without any doubt.

Because she knew this was standard procedure—all civilians who witnessed a UMA had to undergo memory erasure.

”Focus.” Lin Shuang reminded her without turning her head, while taking a metal container from her tactical waist bag, ”Prepare for containment.”

The female little monster suddenly let out a piercing shriek, and the other little monsters immediately pounced on the two like mad!

Bai Ting quickly drew her twin blades, the blade light cutting two dark gold arcs in the air, and the three little monsters charging at the front were instantly cut in half.

Lin Shuang stood motionless, calmly observing the battle.

Although the Tooth Charm, an E-class UMA, was ferocious and bloodthirsty, its threat level wasn’t high, making it suitable for new recruits to practice with.

Her gaze swept back and forth between Bai Ting and the two unconscious girls—the primary task was to ensure civilian safety, followed by assessing the new team member’s strength.

Bai Ting’s movements were fluid and graceful, her twin blades cutting dark gold streaks of light in the dim stairwell.

Each swing of her blade was incredibly precise; the pouncing little monsters were like hitting a precise meat grinder, instantly cut into pieces.

Viscous green liquid splattered on the walls, emitting a ”sizzling” corrosive sound.

”Watch out, their blood is corrosive!” Lin Shuang reminded her in time, while shielding the two unconscious girls with her body, ensuring that the splashing liquid wouldn’t harm them.

”Understood!” Bai Ting dodged a pouncing monster with a sidestep, then backhanded a blade, pinning it to the wall. Her movements were clean and efficient, showing no signs of being a newcomer to Team One.

In just a few breaths, more than twenty Worker Tooth Charms were completely wiped out.

Only the female Tooth Charm remained in the stairwell, curled up in the corner, emitting a ”squeaking” whimper, still tightly clutching the unfinished human finger.

Bai Ting crossed her blades, slowly approaching: ”UMA-1301 main body confirmed, preparing for containment.”

Lin Shuang nodded in satisfaction, taking out a specially designed containment bottle from her waist.

This newcomer truly lived up to her reputation as an elite handpicked by the Investigation Bureau—not only possessing A+ level mental resistance but also such remarkable skill.

It seemed that Captain Lin’s deliberate arrangement of her into her own team indeed had a deeper meaning...
