I Created a Containment Object at the Start, and Became a God

43: I was just passing by!Zhao Yongqiang looked at the Omega Badge on Zhang Ji’s chest and jokingly punched his shoulder, ”You little brat, are you trying to steal my job again?”

Zhang Ji rubbed his nose—three years ago, this Special Operations Captain of the Investigation Bureau was still an effective detective under Zhao Yongqiang, having solved many major cases.

He gave a wry smile, ”Senior, don’t tease me. I’m just following the rules.” As he spoke, he pointed to the Red Authorization Code on the electronic command board, which indicated the case had exceeded the scope of regular criminal investigation.

”Does your team need assistance?” Zhao Yongqiang dropped his joking expression.

He knew that cases involving Supernatural Phenomena often required local police assistance for basic tasks like sealing off the scene and interviewing witnesses.

”That would be great,” Zhang Ji said seriously. ”Especially for questioning the victim’s relatives and checking surrounding surveillance—we need your local expertise.”

Lin Xiaoyu immediately brought over a stack of documents: ”This is the preliminary investigation report, witness statements, and Yang Lu Yi’s movements over the past six months.”

As Zhao Yongqiang took the files, he noticed Yang Zhenye staring intensely at the folder.

The muscles beneath the cuff of the pharmaceutical group’s Vice President were twitching uncontrollably.

”Mr. Yang, would you like to come to the scene?” Zhao Yongqiang deliberately raised his voice. ”After all, relatives have the right to confirm the identity of the deceased.”

Yang Zhenye’s Adam’s apple bobbed a few times before he finally nodded stiffly.

As the group stepped into the depths of the small woods, a heavy smell of blood assaulted them. When they saw the horrific state of Yang Lu Yi’s ”dissection,” even the experienced detectives gasped.

”Damn... skinned and tendons removed?” Little Wang whispered to Little Zhang. ”And the bones are cleaned so thoroughly. What kind of hatred is this?”

Little Zhang flipped through the UMA files on his tablet: ”Among the recorded creatures, only Number 2199 performs this kind of precise dissection... but Number 2199 isn’t distributed in our Dragon Country...”

He scrolled the screen, checking for other entities that might do this.

Yang Zhenye kept his eyes tightly shut, his teeth grinding audibly.

When he finally mustered the courage to look at the pile of human skin, the muscles beneath his suit suddenly went into violent spasms—that was not just rage, but a rejection reaction from the Gene Agent being impacted by similar energy.

”captain Zhang?” he asked Zhang Ji hoarsely, ”Are there any clues?”

Zhang Ji checked the readings on the Energy Detector, his brows furrowed: ”We just arrived at the scene, and the data isn’t complete yet.

But what we can confirm is that the residual Heterogeneous Energy here is a trace of activity left by a UMA or a supernatural entity of similar level.”

He deliberately avoided Yang Zhenye’s murderous gaze and continued, ”To pinpoint the specific target, we need time to analyze the Energy Spectrum Characteristics. We might need to access the Headquarters’ UMA Database for comparison...”

”Don’t rush?” Yang Zhenye’s genetically enhanced knuckles turned white, and the skin beneath his suit cuffs glowed with an unnatural blue light. ”My nephew was skinned and dismembered and left here, and you tell me not to rush?”

But he quickly suppressed the urge to lash out—the answer of residual Heterogeneous Energy was enough.

Whether it was a wild UMA or a Cult Ritual, it meant the matter was beyond the scope of ordinary police handling, which suited him perfectly.

Soon, three black Maybachs sped to a stop, and the Yang Family Butler, along with a professional team, quickly took over the scene.

Yang Zhenye said coldly to the Butler, ”Cooperate with the police, and take Xiao Lu... home properly.”

He deliberately emphasized the word ”properly,” and the Butler immediately understood.

After Yang Zhenye drove away, Zhang Ji immediately pressed his headset: ”Hummingbird Team, follow them and initiate Full-spectrum Monitoring. The Yang Family is likely going to contact the Monkey God Sect.”

As a Senior Special Agent of the Investigation Bureau, he knew the Yang Family’s background all too well.

This seemingly respectable pharmaceutical giant had always maintained dirty dealings with the Monkey God Sect behind the scenes—using live people to test Gene Agents, and then using Cult Rituals to dispose of the ”waste.”

The Crematorium Zombie Case three years ago eventually led back to one of the Yang Family’s Underground Laboratories.

”We couldn’t find evidence before...”

”This time, perhaps we can catch them all.”

The two team members silently acknowledged the order... Meanwhile, beneath an Abandoned Chemical Plant in the outskirts of Longcheng, three Refrigerated Trucks marked ”Aquatic Transport” slowly drove into a Hidden Door.

The iron door of the basement slammed shut behind them, and the smell of damp mold mixed with disinfectant rushed forward.

Three Monkey God Cultists shoved over a dozen Southeast Asians off the truck; their wrists were bound with Plastic Zip Ties, and their eyes were dull and fearful.

”Damn it, you’re three hours late!” a Scar-faced Guard kicked a tire. ”The higher-ups are impatient. Can you handle the High Priest’s wrath?”

The leading cultist took off his mask to wipe sweat: ”The highway was full of checkpoints, we had to take an eighty-kilometer detour through mountain roads!” He kicked the nearest Southeast Asian. ”It’s all these monkeys’ fault, they even tried to jump out halfway!”

The guard swept his flashlight over the crowd, the beam illuminating dark faces: ”Why are they all Southeast Asians? Didn’t you say you were getting some South Americans last time?”

”South Americans raised their prices!” The cultist tore open a young man’s collar, revealing a Viper Tattoo on his collarbone. ”These are goods delivered by the ’Snakehead Gang.’ They’re cheap and obedient—anyway, the sacrifice just needs fresh flesh and blood, who cares where they’re from!”

The young man suddenly begged in broken Chinese, ”Let me go back... my parents will gather the money...” Before he finished, a cultist struck him down with a Stun Baton.

”What’s all the noise about! Do you think we’re scammers like you!” The guard waved impatiently. ”Hurry up and get them inside! We need thirty-six sacrifices tonight. Even one short will cause big trouble for us!”

The cultists drove the crowd forward like cattle.

As they passed through a Hidden Door, a sharp-eyed Southeast Asian girl suddenly screamed—she saw half a human finger bone stuck in the Drainage Ditch in the corner, its nail still painted with faded Red Nail Polish.

”Shut up!” A cultist immediately covered her mouth and nose with a cloth soaked in Ether.

During the struggle, the girl’s shoulder bag dropped, scattering several family photos on the ground—in the pictures, she was wearing a Yangon University uniform, smiling brightly.

The guard picked up the photo and glanced at it: ”Tsk, a university student... what a shame.” He casually threw the photo into the trash can. ”Once you’re here, even the Almighty King has to become a sacrifice!”

”Hello there.” A lazy voice suddenly came from the top of the truck.

Everyone snapped their heads up, seeing Wang Jin sitting atop the truck sometime unnoticed, dressed in a simple Hoodie and Jeans, dangling his legs like a lost university student.

”Who the hell are you?!” The Scar-faced Guard immediately raised his gun and aimed. ”John, did you capture a Dragon Country person?”

The cultist responsible for the escort hastily shook his head: ”No! This shipment is all from Southeast Asia!”

Wang Jin lightly jumped off the truck and said with a smile, ”Allow me to introduce myself—” He dusted the dirt off his Jeans. ”I was just passing by.”
