I Created a Containment Object at the Start, and Became a God

40: Do you crave power? In the courtroom of a local court in Dragon Country, the atmosphere was so heavy it was practically solidified.

When the judge struck the gavel and announced, ”The defendant Yang Lu Yi is found to have no criminal capacity due to a psychiatric disorder and is therefore not held criminally responsible according to law,” the audience immediately erupted.

”Impossible!” Zhang Hongmei, the victim’s mother, screamed hysterically. She broke free from her husband’s grasp and lunged toward the defendant’s stand. ”My daughter is only sixteen! Now she just huddles in the corner talking nonsense all day long!”

Her fingernails scraped several bloody marks across the bailiff’s uniform, her voice filled with animalistic despair.

The young girl sitting in the victim’s seat kept her head bowed, a blue inpatient wristband still on her wrist, completely unresponsive to her mother’s cries.

In stark contrast was the defendant’s stand—Yang Lu Yi curved his lips into a strange smirk. As the bailiff unlocked his handcuffs, he deliberately rotated his wrists and cast a look of disdain toward the victim’s family.

His family members, dressed in suits and leather shoes, gathered around him. Their lawyer, wearing gold-rimmed glasses, whispered instructions: ”The ’admission procedures’ for the psychiatric hospital have been arranged... you can apply for discharge in three months.”

”Your Honor!” Zhang Hongmei suddenly dropped to her knees, her forehead hitting the marble floor with a dull thud.

”The Yang Family are shareholders in a pharmaceutical group! That psychiatric evaluation...” She trembled as she pulled a stack of photos from her clothes. ”These are surveillance screenshots from the night my daughter was... was... that bastard was clearly completely lucid!”

As the judge frowned while examining the photos, the Yang Family’s lawyer handed over a document with a gilded cover: ”This is a re-evaluation from the Mental Health Center, confirming that my client was experiencing an acute episode of schizophrenia at the time of the incident.”

He glanced meaningfully at the victim. ”On the contrary, this young lady’s medical records show she took a leave of absence from middle school due to depression...”

The recess bell suddenly rang.

As the bailiffs forcibly escorted away the weeping and fainting Zhang Hongmei, no one noticed that Yang Lu Yi mouthed a phrase to the victim: ”Next time, I’ll take you to the seaside.”

The girl’s pupils contracted violently the moment she heard that sentence, and a non-human whimper escaped her throat.

On the last page of her medical record book, a bright red stamp read: ”Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder with Dissociative Symptoms.”

But all of this was observed by a young man in black clothes and a baseball cap sitting in the corner of the audience seating.

The fingers clutching his cane turned white from the force, and a cold gaze shot out from beneath the brim of his cap, locking onto Yang Lu Yi.

His name is Wang Jin, and he is 23 years old this year.

Four years ago that summer, the 19-year-old was standing at the medical examination center, clutching his Police Academy acceptance letter, only to be told that a comminuted fracture of his left tibia had resulted in a Level 7 disability, disqualifying him from recruitment standards.

He remembered the scene—that young man folded the acceptance letter into a paper crane right in front of him.

The paper crane hit the glass window of the medical center and fell. The young man silently tore the rejection letter to shreds but solemnly affixed a police badge sticker to the side of his cane.

”I can’t be a Police Officer,” Wang Jin told the doctor back then, ”but the things a Police Officer should do, I’ll still do.”

Four years later, he spends his days tightening screws at a repair shop, and his nights wearing a self-made ”Night Watchman” mask, using a telescopic baton, steel cable, and a stun gun hidden in his prosthetic limb to hunt down the scum who escape the law.

Hearing about Yang Lu Yi’s case this time, he specifically followed up to investigate, only to find the scene even more sickening than he had imagined.

”Beast...” Wang Jin muttered through gritted teeth, slamming his cane heavily on the floor. ”Crime that cannot be punished is equivalent to the absence of justice, which is also crime.”

After night fell, Yang Lu Yi was smugly driving his sports car toward his suburban villa.

Suddenly, there was a loud bang, and the sports car’s tire was punctured by a steel cable spike. As he cursed and got out to check, a dark figure flashed out from the bushes—

”Who?!” Just as Yang Lu Yi pulled out his phone, he was violently jabbed in the waist by a high-voltage stun gun.

Convulsing as he fell, he saw a metal baseball bat slamming down heavily.

”You like pretending to be mentally ill?” An electronic voice from a voice changer emerged from beneath Wang Jin’s mask. ”Tonight, I’ll let you experience a real ’episode.’”

Wang Jin’s metal baseball bat smashed heavily onto Yang Lu Yi’s back, making a dull impact sound.

”Mental illness isn’t a get-out-of-jail-free card!” He roared, striking again. ”Even if you’re mentally ill, you won’t escape the punishment you deserve! Today, I will act on behalf of Heaven and eliminate you, you piece of trash.”

Just as the bat was about to land, Yang Lu Yi suddenly opened his scarlet eyes, and the paralyzing effect unexpectedly wore off early!

He grabbed the whistling baseball bat with one hand, his fingers tightening like iron clamps. The alloy bat groaned under the unbearable pressure.

”What?!” Wang Jin was shocked and tried to pull his weapon back, but realized the other party’s strength was far beyond the normal human range.

Yang Lu Yi slowly stood up, his muscles visibly swelling and tearing his expensive suit.

He easily snatched the bat, then delivered a heavy back kick that sent Wang Jin flying several meters. ”You hit me? Do you know who I am!”

Wang Jin slammed heavily into a tree trunk, the sharp pain of his broken ribs nearly causing him to faint.

He watched helplessly as Yang Lu Yi approached step by step.

”The Yang Family’s Gene Serum... is the version that allows you to tear a bear apart with your bare hands.” Yang Lu Yi sneered as he raised the bat. ”How dare a piece of trash like you hit me...”

The sound of heavy blows echoed in the night sky.

”With your paltry skills, you think you can act on Heaven’s behalf?” Yang Lu Yi sneered, stepping on Wang Jin’s wrist. ”One dose of my Gene Agent is worth ten years of your hard training!”

He pulled out his phone and made a call: ”Send someone to deal with the trash... yes, the usual spot.”

After hanging up, he spat at Wang Jin. ”Don’t worry, I’ll feed you to my family’s ’pets.’ Guaranteed no trace left.”

Wang Jin spat out a mouthful of blood mixed with broken teeth, yet a relieved smile appeared on his face.

He was an orphan, raised in a welfare institution since childhood, with no relatives.

Over the years, he had executed drug cartel leaders, wealthy men who sexually assaulted children, and unpunished children of officials... Before every operation, he would write a sentence in his diary.

”In the corners where light cannot reach, someone must always carry a torch forward.”

Seeing Wang Jin still smile at this moment, Yang Lu Yi viciously stepped on his face. ”Trash! Do you regret it now?”

”Regret?” Wang Jin suddenly laughed out loud. ”I only regret not cutting your throat directly!”

He violently tore open his jacket, revealing dense scars around his waist—each scar corresponding to a villain he had executed. ”Did you know? You’ll be the thirty-seventh...”

Before he finished speaking, Wang Jin suddenly erupted!

The dagger hidden in his sleeve stabbed directly toward Yang Lu Yi’s eye.

The gene-enhanced Yang Lu Yi tilted his head, dodging the fatal strike, but a deep, bone-visible wound was still sliced across his cheek.

”You’re courting death!” Yang Lu Yi roared, twisting and breaking Wang Jin’s arm. The dagger clattered to the ground.

”Die for me!” Yang Lu Yi sneered, raising his foot and viciously stomping down on Wang Jin’s spine.

A crisp cracking sound of bone was heard. Wang Jin’s body convulsed violently, and his consciousness rapidly blurred.

Wang Jin’s spine made a grinding, shattering sound, and the intense pain instantly stripped him of his last ability to move.

His consciousness flickered like a candle in the wind. He thought desperately—he had underestimated them after all. He never expected these powerful figures to possess such extraordinary strength.

Just as he was about to sink into eternal darkness, a whisper, seemingly from the abyss, pierced directly into his mind:

”Do you desire... to live?”

”Do you desire... the power to punish evil?”

”Offer your loyalty... and the great Virexos shall grant you a new life...”

Wang Jin thought this was a hallucination brought on by death, but the voice carried an undeniable sense of reality.

He used his last ounce of strength to scream in his heart: ”As long as I can punish these scumbags... I am willing to sacrifice everything!”
