I Created a Containment Object at the Start, and Became a God

42: The Bureau of Paranormal Investigations takes over!Wang Jin subconsciously took half a step back, then felt annoyed by his own retreat—he was an Extraordinary who had been injected with the Yang Family’s latest Gene Agent; how could he be frightened by such cheap tricks?

”Putting on an act!” Yang Lu Yi roared, his gene-enhanced body leaving afterimages as his heavy fist smashed fiercely against the Exoskeleton covering Wang Jin’s chest!

”Clang—!”

The huge sound of metal colliding echoed in the alley.

Yang Lu Yi screamed as his wrist fractured, the intense pain causing him to break out in a cold sweat.

But Wang Jin remained completely still, and the armor didn’t even sustain a scratch.

”Impossible!” Yang Lu Yi stared incredulously at his twisted wrist. ”How can this be? How could a poor kid like you possess this kind of power?”

Wang Jin watched Yang Lu Yi with indifference, a hint of mockery curling his lips.

The opponent’s gene-enhanced body was like slow-motion playback in his eyes; every trajectory of force was accurately predicted by the Punishment Eye.

”Is that all you’ve got?” Wang Jin suddenly rushed forward, his right fist slamming into Yang Lu Yi’s face, leaving an afterimage.

Amidst the dull thud of a collapsing skull, a dozen blood-stained teeth scattered like shattered jade, several even embedding themselves into the brick wall.

Yang Lu Yi staggered backward, the comminuted fracture of his jawbone limiting him to whimpers of ”Uh... uh...” Blood poured from his seven orifices, tracing hideous patterns on his pale, Gene Agent-enhanced skin.

”Gene Solution?” Wang Jin bent down to pick up the dropped dagger, its blade shimmering with dark golden light under the augmentation of the Punishment Eye. ”It’s just a shoddy imitation.”

He slowly approached, his pupils reflecting a full X-ray image of Yang Lu Yi—every blood vessel and bone was visible in minute detail, and he could even see the black thrombus in the heart caused by the agent’s side effects.

Yang Lu Yi collapsed onto the ground, using his broken fingers to scratch the pavement and shuffle backward.

The trail of blood dragged across the brick seams was suddenly stepped on by Wang Jin: ”I said flay the skin and pull the tendons... and that’s what will happen!”

When Yang Lu Yi heard the words ”flay the skin and pull the tendons,” his face, already pale from blood loss, instantly turned as white as paper.

His fractured jawbone struggled to move, producing muffled whimpers: ”Let... let me go... The Yang Family... money... take it all...”

Wang Jin didn’t bother listening further, delivering another backhanded punch straight onto his nose bridge.

Amidst the dull thud of the skull collapsing again, Yang Lu Yi completely lost consciousness, slumping to the ground like a ragdoll.

”Money cannot redeem sin.” Wang Jin coldly grabbed Yang Lu Yi’s ankle and dragged him like a dead dog toward the small grove at the end of the alley.

The rough concrete ground shredded the expensive suit fabric, exposing the blue-glowing, gene-enhanced skin underneath—a masterpiece from the Yang Family laboratory, now serving as a winding sheet for a funeral... A thin morning fog enveloped the Suburban Villa Area, and more than a dozen police cars surrounded the scene completely.

Zhao Yongqiang, the criminal police captain of Longcheng West District, stood within the cordon line, frowning as he watched the forensic doctors moving in and out.

At his feet were several pools of fresh vomit—left by the young police officers who had just returned from surveying the scene in the grove.

”captain Zhao!” The female officer Lin Xiaoyu quickly walked over, her face pale, and handed over a notebook of transcripts.

Zhao Yongqiang took the transcripts, his gaze sweeping over the three scavengers squatting and trembling nearby.

They were wearing work uniforms printed with the words ”Hongyun Cleaning,” and their wrists were still shackled with handcuffs recently applied by the police.

”The interrogation is finished. These Corpse Removers said they received a call from Yang Lu Yi last night, telling them to come ’handle the trash.’ But when they arrived, they only found an empty sports car with a warm engine.”

Suppressing her nausea, she continued reporting: ”They found the... body in the small grove.

The technique was extremely professional; the skin was flayed whole, the tendons cleanly pulled, and even the gene-enhanced bones were meticulously stripped. Those Corpse Removers said they hadn’t seen such clean work in twenty years in the business.”

Zhao Yongqiang looked toward the grove, where several young officers were leaning against trees and vomiting. He put on gloves and walked over. The scene before him made even this veteran detective’s pupils contract sharply—

Yang Lu Yi’s body was laid out in a cruciform shape, all the bones stripped out and placed beside it, and the entire skin was spread out nearby like a piece of clothing, revealing blue-glowing muscle fibers in the morning light.

The most horrifying part was the spinal column; every single vertebra had been precisely separated and arranged neatly like an anatomical specimen.

”Have the Yang Family members been notified?” Zhao Yongqiang’s voice was tight.

”Not yet...” Lin Xiaoyu lowered her voice. ”captain Zhao, the Yang Family is a major local power in Longcheng. If we can’t provide an explanation for this case...”

Before she could finish, the roar of an engine suddenly came from afar.

A black extended sedan ignored the cordon line and drove straight in. The door opened, and a sharply dressed middle-aged man stepped out—it was Yang Zhenye, Vice President of Yang’s Pharmaceutical and Yang Lu Yi’s paternal uncle.

Yang Zhenye looked at the cordon line and the busy police officers in the distance, then recalled the call from the police station in the early hours of the morning, and his heart sank sharply—Little Lu must really be in trouble.

His nephew had been orphaned since childhood, and everyone in the Yang Family spoiled him, leading to his lawless temperament.

When the last rape case occurred, he didn’t even show his face, only letting a lawyer handle it—after all, such incidents were too common.

To save his life, he had even specially injected his nephew with the newly developed Gene Agent, but he never expected... ”Get out of the way!” Yang Zhenye pushed past the officer blocking his path, the muscles beneath his suit tightening with rage.

When he saw the police rank insignia on Zhao Yongqiang’s chest, he forcibly suppressed his anger: ”captain Zhang, is that right? I am Yang Lu Yi’s uncle.”

Zhao Yongqiang signaled the officers to let him pass: ”Mr. Yang, please accept my condolences. The scene is somewhat... unique. I suggest you prepare yourself mentally.”

When Yang Zhenye saw the scene in the small grove, this commercial mogul, accustomed to weathering storms, also stumbled a step.

He clenched his fingers tightly.

”Who did this?” His voice was like sandpaper rubbing. ”Was it a business rival? Or... those things?”

The last half-sentence was whispered extremely low, his gaze meaningfully sweeping toward the vehicles of the Investigation Bureau that had just arrived in the distance.

Zhao Yongqiang followed Yang Zhenye’s line of sight and saw three black SUVs marked with the Bureau of Anomalous Affairs Investigation emblem silently driving into the scene. His heart sank sharply—sure enough, it involved ”those things” again.

As a veteran detective with twenty years of experience, he knew all too well what the appearance of the Investigation Bureau meant.

Every month, there would be a few cases that were forcibly transferred after certain extraordinary signs were discovered.

He still remembered the Funeral Home Corpse Reanimation Case three years ago, when he personally witnessed how an already cold body suddenly sprang up, and then a monster crawled out of its stomach... ”captain Zhao.” Zhang Ji, the special operations captain of the Investigation Bureau, quickly walked over with a few team members. The Ω symbol on his dark combat uniform was particularly glaring in the morning light.

”We are taking over the scene.” Little Zhang showed the electronic command board; the red authorization code on it made it impossible for Zhao Yongqiang to refuse...
