I Created a Containment Object at the Start, and Became a God

30: I’m at my wit’s end! Does God really exist? At this chilling moment, Li Yi’s pupils suddenly contracted, and he pointed to a giant banyan tree at the edge of the camp: ”Look over there!”

Everyone looked in the direction he pointed, only to see a strong man, not yet skinned, suspended in mid-air.

His neck was clamped by an invisible force, and his legs kicked weakly—it was Basong, the leader of the Jungle People, whom Zhao Hongyong had mentioned!

”Something is there!” Li Dan shouted sharply, and all muzzles instantly pointed in that direction.

Under everyone’s terrified gaze, the air suddenly began to distort, gradually revealing a tall figure.

First, fingers covered in dark golden bio-armor appeared, followed by the outline of arm guards, shoulder plasma cannons covered in intricate patterns, and finally the entire body—a humanoid combat creature, two and a half meters tall, fully manifested!

”What the hell is that thing?” a Li family warrior trembled and backed away.

It was neither like any known UMA nor any product of human technology. The material of the armor seemed to subtly squirm as if alive, yet the weapon modules exuded a cold, mechanical aesthetic.

The Iron Blood Warrior’s gaze swept coldly over Li Dan and his group, its eyes conveying the indifference of a higher life form towards lower ones.

It casually flung Basong aside, and as its wrist blades popped out with a grating metallic sound, it instantly split the leader of the Jungle People in half—internal organs and white fibrous material scattered everywhere, terrifying several Li family warriors into vomiting on the spot.

”What do we do, Brother Dan?” The team members’ voices trembled; their guns were aimed at the monster, but their fingers shook uncontrollably.

Li Dan’s red symbiotic bacteria wriggled wildly under his skin, an instinctive reaction to a deadly threat.

He stared intently at the two-and-a-half-meter-tall killing machine, cold sweat soaking his tactical uniform—as an enhanced warrior injected with the ”Tyrant” serum, he felt such an overwhelming sense of oppression for the first time.

The Iron Blood Warrior’s face mask suddenly emitted mechanical whirring sounds, its gaze focusing on Li Dan and Li Yi.

Scanning data showed that the energy readings in these two individuals far exceeded ordinary humans, especially the one-armed warrior with reddish skin.

”Roar—” The Iron Blood Warrior’s circular mouthpart split open, emitting an excited roar.

The eight mechanical tentacles on its back simultaneously unfolded their weapon modules, and the plasma cannon began to charge.

This was precisely the genetic instinct of the Iron Blood Warrior that Lin Zhi had incorporated into the design; the desire to hunt powerful prey would trigger its highest combat state.

Li Dan and Li Yi froze simultaneously, like frogs targeted by a venomous snake.

It felt as if the entire jungle’s shadows had come alive, transforming into invisible shackles that pinned them to the spot.

Li Yi’s leopard transformation even began to tremble uncontrollably, his animal instincts screaming: Flee! Flee quickly!

At this critical moment, the Iron Blood Warrior suddenly paused.

It raised its head, and a faint light flashed on the side of its face mask—it was the real-time image transmitted by the Mechanical Falcon: Zhao Hongyong’s squad was fleeing southeast with the Shadowhoof Fungus Horse.

The electronic eyes beneath the face mask flickered several times, and its hunting priority instantly updated. Compared to these battered soldiers, the team carrying the rare UMA clearly had more hunting value.

”Sizzle...” The Iron Blood Warrior emitted disappointed electronic static, then cast a final glance at Li Dan before suddenly activating its Optical Camouflage.

Its massive two-and-a-half-meter-tall body vanished as if melting into the air, leaving behind only several deep footprints on the ground and the lingering scent of blood.

”It’s... gone?” A young warrior collapsed to the ground, his pants soaked.

Li Yi supported the heavily injured Li Dan, his face pale: ”It just now... was it evaluating us as prey?”

Li Dan nodded with difficulty, his voice hoarse: ”It should be...”

Waves of shock crashed in his heart—the monster clearly possessed equipment far beyond human technology, yet it also carried some kind of primitive hunting instinct, completely unlike any known UMA or human creation.

He gasped for breath, looking around. The camp was in disarray, but there was no trace of the Taishui Salamander. A sense of loss welled up, and the sharp pain in his severed arm seemed to intensify.

”Young Master,” Li Dan stammered as he opened his communication device, ”The mission... failed. The Taishui Salamander is nowhere to be found, and we encountered...” He paused, unsure how to describe the terrifying entity, ”...an unknown powerful enemy.”

There was a long silence on the other end of the communication, finally broken by Li Songzhou’s weary voice: ”Continue searching the surrounding area. Grandfather’s condition... he might not last three more days.”

Hearing that the young master wasn’t blaming him, Li Dan felt even more guilty. He forced himself to cheer up and promised: ”We will definitely find it!”

After hanging up the communication, he roared at the remaining team members: ”Pull yourselves together! The Li family has supported us for so many years, not for you to play dead here!”

...Meanwhile, after ending the call, Li Songzhou slumped wearily onto the leather sofa, unconsciously rubbing his throbbing temples.

The Li family relatives, who had been waiting for a long time, immediately gathered around him. Third Aunt Li Jingmei was the first to speak, her tone urgent: ”Songzhou, what happened? Didn’t you bring back the Taishui Salamander?”

Li Songzhou nodded heavily, briefly explaining the encounter in the jungle. As soon as he finished, several of his cousins exploded in anger:

”What good are Li Dan and his team? They brought so many elites and couldn’t even catch a fish?”

”Exactly! If the Old Master has any mishaps...”

”I think they’re just used to living in luxury; they can’t handle anything when real trouble comes!”

The chattering accusations buzzed in his ears like flies.

Li Songzhou thought of his grandfather, on the verge of death, his sister tormented by pollution, and these noisy voices, finally exploding in exasperation:

”All of you, shut up!” He stood up abruptly, slamming his fist onto the mahogany coffee table, ”What kind of behavior is this!”

The entire room fell silent instantly. Several cousins shrank their necks in fear; they had never seen the usually gentle and refined eldest son of the Li family lose his composure like this.

At this moment, a steady hand rested on Li Songzhou’s shoulder.

His father, Li Jingyao, had appeared behind him at some point. The actual head of the Li family looked exceptionally aged at this moment: ”Songzhou, that’s enough. Perhaps this is your grandfather’s fate.”

He looked around at the hushed relatives, his voice soft but carrying undeniable authority: ”Everyone, disperse. Let Songzhou be in peace.”

After everyone left, Li Jingyao quietly said to his son: ”Go be with your sister. Your mother has been in her room guarding her all day...”

He paused, his voice trembling slightly, ”The doctor said the pollution in her body is accelerating its spread.”

Li Songzhou’s heart tightened, and he hurried to his sister’s bedroom. Pushing open the door, he saw his mother silently weeping, holding his sister’s mutated hand.

Half of Li Songyun’s body was already covered in a white keratinous layer, and fine mycelial threads continuously seeped from her pores.

”Brother...” Li Songyun weakly opened her eyes, a hint of dark gold flashing in her pupils, ”I think... I can hear that thing’s voice...”

Seeing her daughter’s suffering, Gu Minghui burst into tears, her meticulously applied makeup ruined by her tears.

Li Songzhou suppressed his heartache, crouched down, and gently comforted her: ”Mom, don’t cry. Sister will get better.”

He turned to Li Songyun, forcing a smile: ”Yunyun, don’t worry, Brother has found a way.”

Gu Minghui suddenly grabbed her son’s hand: ”Really? What way?”

Li Songzhou nodded solemnly: ”I’m going to invite that expert right now. You shouldn’t get too close to sister for now; this pollution might spread indirectly.”

He gently touched his sister’s burning forehead, ”Hold on, Brother will be back soon.”

The moment he walked out of the bedroom, Li Songzhou’s smile completely vanished.

He quickly walked to the study and quietly instructed his confidant waiting there: ”Immediately go and invite Mr. Bai. Tell him that as long as he can save my sister and grandfather, I will agree to any conditions.”

”Yes, Young Master.” The confidant hurried away.

Watching his confidant leave, Li Songzhou’s brows were tightly furrowed. He turned to the floor-to-ceiling window, looking at the city’s twinkling lights in the night, his heart filled with unease.

The young man who called himself ”White Tiger”—he had investigated his background—was just an orphan with no parents, yet in just a few months, he had gained unimaginable power.

However, what he cared about was the lord of the heavens mentioned in his words.

”Deities... do they really exist?” Li Songzhou murmured to himself.

He had once scoffed at those cults, believing that so-called ”miracles” were merely special abilities of UMAs.

But now, facing his sister’s worsening condition and his grandfather’s critical life, he had no other choice...
