The World's Richest Man: Start with the Daily Intelligence System

82: Chapter 82: The Blind Boxes Have Been Shipped?Liu Haorui, refusing to believe his luck, turned the express box upside down and shook it. Still, nothing fell out.

”Station Master Zhou, what’s the deal with this?”

Zhou Guangan replied calmly, ”This is normal. Many Taobao sellers send empty boxes to boost their rankings or increase positive reviews.”

”That’s a thing?” Liu Haorui was dumbfounded. He had thought that even if the items in each package weren’t worth much, they’d at least be worth three or four yuan. He didn’t expect to come up empty-handed while opening express boxes.

At this moment, the bullet chat was filled with laughter.

”Haha, Interview Brother’s expression is priceless.”

”Maybe they’re just selling fresh air from nature, alright?”

”The people at the express station are sharp. If there was a profit to be made, would they still sell it to you?”

”It’s fine. Brothers, I’m just building up some good karma first. With over two hundred more to go, I refuse to believe they’re all empty.” Liu Haorui tried to save face, tossing the box aside and picking up another one.

He gave it a shake. ”This one has something rattling inside; it definitely won’t be empty.” Having said that, Liu Haorui used a utility knife to slice through the tape. Inside was a large pack of spicy strips.

Liu Haorui instantly perked up. ”Brothers, such a big pack of spicy strips definitely won’t be a loss. Let’s check the price.” As he spoke, he took out his phone and scanned the barcode on the packaging.

”Whoa, 16.9 yuan. My luck is turning around, brothers! I’m in the green!” Liu Haorui was a bit excited. He tore open the package and ate one, then gave a thumbs up and said loudly, ”This flavor is spicy and bold enough! The texture of the gluten is also very unique. I like it!”

Zhang Wei, standing by the side, felt something was off. He picked up the packaging and looked at it. Well, what do you know! The expiration date had passed last year.

”Spit it out, quick. This thing is a year past its expiration date. If it hasn’t grown green mold, it’s only because the manufacturer’s hygiene was decent.”

Liu Haorui felt numb upon hearing that and began to retch by the edge of the table. The viewers in the livestream were dying of laughter, and the viewer count instantly surpassed the 100,000 mark.

He continued to open several more packages in a row, but they were either empty or contained things like nail clippers and clothes hangers—the kind of stuff you’d find in a dollar store. If Zhang Wei hadn’t told him beforehand that there was something valuable, he would have given up long ago.

Zhou Guangan watched with a grin. In fact, although these express packages hadn’t been opened, the station had already scanned them with an X-ray machine before selling them.

High-value items like sneakers and electronics had already been taken for themselves; only the worthless packages were left behind. Thinking of this, Zhou Guangan couldn’t help but feel smug. Even the ”Interview Brother” with ten million followers was being played like a fool by him.

Liu Haorui wasn’t discouraged and picked up another package to open.

”Let’s see what’s in this box. Huh? Is this some kind of gemstone?”

Liu Haorui took out a small plastic box containing seven or eight crystal-clear blue gemstones.

Zhou Guangan was startled. He stepped closer to check and then couldn’t help but laugh. The livestream was also full of mockery.

”Interview Brother, aren’t those just decorations for kids’ crafts?”

”Haha, my daughter has a whole bucket of these gems in every color.”

”Streamer, have you ever seen real gemstones kept in a plastic box?”

Reading the comments, Liu Haorui assumed it was just more worthless junk and was about to toss it aside.

Zhang Wei’s heart stirred. He casually said to Zhou Guangan, ”Station Master Zhou, we’ve bought this entire batch of packages. You won’t go back on your word if we find something worth over ten thousand yuan, right?”

Zhou Guangan laughed loudly. ”Of course! You’ve paid for them. Whatever you find in these packages is yours to take.” He thought to himself that he wouldn’t even want this trash if it were given to him. It would be better if they took it away so he wouldn’t have to hire someone to clear it out.

”Good. Our viewers in the livestream all heard that, right? Station Master Zhou isn’t the type to go back on his word.” Having said that, Zhang Wei told Liu Haorui, ”My phone is busy with the stream. Call Chen Jiayan and ask an expert to come over and take a look.”

It was the weekend, so they weren’t working. Chen Jiayan was likely out shopping with An Xiaoxi.

Liu Haorui perked up at this. Zhang Wei had said there was something good inside. Could it be these gemstones?

Handing the plastic box to Zhang Wei for safekeeping, Liu Haorui made a call and then opened another dozen packages. The results were still dismal. Just then, Chen Jiayan and An Xiaoxi walked in.

Zhang Wei pointed the phone screen at the two of them. They had both dressed up carefully for their shopping trip today. An Xiaoxi was wearing a Lolita-style dress with twin tails, looking playful and cute, while Chen Jiayan was in casual wear with fiery red lips, looking hot and sexy.

The two of them together were a total eye-catcher. The livestream viewers went wild, spamming heart and drooling emojis.

Zhang Wei smiled and said to Chen Jiayan, ”We need a jewelry expert. Is it convenient for you to appear on camera?”

Chen Jiayan sat down gracefully next to Liu Haorui and greeted the viewers with a smile. ”Hello everyone, I am Chen Jiayan, the General Manager of Xinxin Jewelry.”

Liu Haorui briefly explained the situation to her and then handed over the plastic box.

Chen Jiayan poured out the contents and picked one up to examine. ”This seems to be made of resin. It has nothing to do with jewelry...”

Zhou Guangan, standing nearby, finally breathed a sigh of relief. He had thought something valuable had appeared, but it turned out to be a false alarm. The bullet chat was also full of complaints.

Chen Jiayan picked up a few more blue gems and suddenly noticed that one of them was significantly heavier. After a careful inspection, she said, ”Huh? This one isn’t right. It looks a bit real?”

Having said that, she picked up her phone. ”Secretary Li, have a company appraiser bring the equipment to the express station on Yanlu Road. Hurry up.” Xinxin Jewelry also had appraisers working overtime on weekends just for situations like this.

While waiting for the equipment, the group didn’t stay idle. An Xiaoxi thought opening the blind boxes was fun, so they opened all 200-plus packages, yielding a pile of Yiwu small commodities.

After a while, the person from Xinxin Jewelry arrived, carrying a piece of equipment the size of a head. After some preparation, they carefully placed the gemstone on it.

It didn’t take long for the results to come out.

”President Chen, this is indeed a natural sapphire. It’s 5.06 carats, with high purity and a standard Royal Blue color.” The staff member seemed a bit excited, not expecting to find such a treasure at an express station.

At this point, the livestream viewers were all dumbfounded.

”Is this a script? How could something so ridiculous happen in real life?”

”Could it be any more fake? Why not say they found First Emperor of Qin?”

”To the person above, I just looked it up. The General Manager of Xinxin Jewelry really is the person in front of us. It doesn’t seem like a lie.”

Zhou Guangan was also stunned. He vaguely remembered scanning this very box himself. He had thought it was just a bunch of glass beads for children’s crafts. Who would have thought they were actually gemstones?

Liu Haorui’s breathing quickened as he hurriedly asked, ”Then how much is this sapphire worth?”

Chen Jiayan thought for a moment. ”At least a hundred thousand as a starting point.”
