The World's Richest Man: Start with the Daily Intelligence System

59: Chapter 59 Schemes Against Li Xiong and His WifeThe voice on the other end of the line was still that electronic tone: ’The evidence on your wife’s phone has been deleted. Transfer the money immediately. The account number is 31******88.’

For Li Xiong at that moment, this simple sentence sounded like heavenly music. He had never heard more beautiful words in his entire life.

’Okay, okay! I’ll transfer the 5 million right now. Thank you so much!’ Amidst his continuous thanks, the other party hung up.

Li Xiong didn’t dare delay and immediately initiated the transfer using his phone.

At that moment, his wife screamed, ’Great! I was originally thinking of leaving you a few hundred thousand to get by, considering our past as a couple, so you wouldn’t end up homeless and laughed at. I never expected you’d dare to transfer assets right in front of me. It’s useless! I’ve already applied for property notarization. However much you transfer out, every cent will be traced back and recovered.’

Li Xiong tested the waters, saying, ’What nonsense are you talking? I’m just repaying a loan from a friend. What asset transfer?’

’You still dare to deny it? Then what about last night? When I called you, why didn’t you dare say a word and kept apologizing to me?’

’Huh?’ Li Xiong wore an innocent expression. ’I thought you were drunk from socializing last night. I figured I’d just go along with whatever you said. You didn’t actually take it seriously, did you?’

At this point, Li Xiong was like a dead pig unafraid of boiling water. Regardless of whether the mysterious person had actually deleted the video, refusing to admit anything was definitely the right move.

’Fine! You’re quite the storyteller. But the video can’t be fake!’ As she spoke, his wife took out her phone and opened the photo album.

Li Xiong was also extremely nervous now, watching her anxiously.

After a flurry of taps, his wife paused, looking stunned. Unwilling to give up, she swiped several more times. Her expression turned unnatural as she said, ’I recorded everything from last night. That little fox spirit was even wearing my pajamas. You really know how to have fun!’

Li Xiong looked at her strangely. ’Weren’t you going to show me the evidence? Where is it?’

’Ahem, I just remembered. I sent the video to my laptop. It will naturally be handed over to the lawyers when the time comes.’ His wife was still trying to maintain composure.

’I want to see the evidence. Otherwise, you’re deliberately slandering my feelings for you. I’m so hurt,’ Li Xiong insisted.

Now he was one hundred percent certain the video on her phone was deleted. The boulder hanging over his head had been shattered. A feeling of exhilarating relief washed over him, like surviving a disaster.

Right then, his phone rang again, still showing a garbled number: ’Mr. Li, I’ve received the money. Are you satisfied with this service?’

’Satisfied! Extremely satisfied!’ Li Xiong said with relish. Simultaneously, he shot a hateful look at his wife. This bitch actually dared to secretly plot to take his assets. As soon as he got back to the company, he’d start the process of kicking her out.

’By the way, Mr. Li, I also have some videos of Mrs. Li here. Tsk tsk, your wife is the absolute star in all of them. Her skills aren’t inferior to those little japanese actresses. Would you be interested in buying them? As a returning customer, how about 3 million?’

Li Xiong was stunned for a moment, then ecstatic. If this bitch could start it, she couldn’t blame him for finishing it. He immediately nodded in agreement and promptly transferred another 3 million to the other party.

Not long after, his phone started chiming incessantly. Opening it, he found nearly thirty videos. Each one was utterly disgraceful; one even featured two black men.

Waving his phone, Li Xiong glared at her with a fierce gaze. ’bitch. You really know how to have fun, don’t you? Did you ever have me in mind? I’m filing for divorce right now. Everything you’ve ever had will be returned to me!’

His wife’s brain completely short-circuited. Wasn’t she the one blackmailing him? How did things turn out like this? Seeing Li Xiong head for the door, she finally snapped out of it. She hurriedly rushed forward, clinging to his leg, and wailed, ’Husband, I was wrong! Please don’t divorce me. I’ll withdraw from the company today and focus on being a good wife and mother at home, okay? I’m begging you.’

He kicked her away, snorted coldly, and walked out, leaving his wife alone, collapsed in the center of the living room, just like Li Xiong had been when caught in the act the night before.

Just then, her phone rang: ’Mrs. Li, were you just threatened?’

’H-how do you know? Who are you?’

’I just learned your husband hired a colleague to delete all the data from your phone, but we have a way to recover it for you. 5 million will get it done. Are you interested?’

A short while later

Zhang Wei waved his phone with a smile. ’Mrs. Li’s 5 million has also been transferred.’ After saying this, he casually sent the original video of Li Xiong’s infidelity back to his wife. Looking up at An Xiaoxi, he said, ’We can start the cleanup work now. Erase all traces of our involvement. Pay special attention to the receiving accounts and the WeChat account used to send the videos.’

An Xiaoxi gave an OK sign. For her, this was as easy as taking a sip of water.

Liu Haorui, standing nearby, exclaimed excitedly, ’Old Zhang, you’re too devious! Tricking Li Xiong twice for a cool 8 million wasn’t enough; you sold him out again for another 5 million. That adds up to 13 million!’

Zhang Wei laughed. ’You’re calling me devious? This is called being clever, alright? Besides, neither of them are good people. Tricking them is fair game.’

With that, he transferred money to the two of them: ’Total of 13 million. You each get 1.3 million. Check your accounts.’

Liu Haorui felt a bit embarrassed. ’Old Zhang, maybe I shouldn’t take it this time. I didn’t really do much throughout the whole thing.’

Zhang Wei waved his hand. ’Rules are rules. You were responsible for handling emergencies; they just weren’t needed this time.’

An Xiaoxi chimed in, ’Brother Rui, don’t refuse. You definitely played a role. In this world, even a piece of toilet paper has its uses.’

’Thanks. Your way of comforting people is really special,’ Liu Haorui said, not knowing whether to laugh or cry.

Zhang Wei said, ’If you really feel bad, then you can just treat everyone to a big dinner tonight to celebrate the successful completion of the operation.’

’I’ve never had a meal Brother Rui treated me to! Tonight, we must eat him poor, haha!’ An Xiaoxi’s eyes sparkled at the idea.

After she finished the cleanup work, the three discussed for a moment. Despite Liu Haorui’s protests being overruled, they decided to go for a lavish seafood feast to really make him bleed.

Thinking a bigger crowd would be livelier, Zhang Wei called Zhang Hong and Wang Sheng, inviting them to join the gathering.

An hour later, the group gathered at the restaurant entrance. Zhang Wei noticed Liu Haorui had actually invited Wang Xiaohua along. He couldn’t help but tease Liu Haorui quietly, ’Didn’t see that coming, Old Liu. Last time I told you Wang Xiaohua was nice, you acted all righteous. Showing your true colors so soon?’

Apart from being a bit airheaded, Wang Xiaohua was a decent girl. As for her being Lin Wanting’s close friend, he no longer cared.

’I just thought more people would be more fun. It’s just an extra set of chopsticks,’ Liu Haoruiexcuseed guiltily.

The group of six got a private room. Zhang Wei had no intention of going easy on Liu Haorui’s wallet. He directly ordered Australian lobsters, king crabs, and red star snappers—basically, whatever was expensive. Everyone watched in astonishment.

Liu Haorui was on the verge of tears, but in front of Wang Xiaohua, he had to pretend it was nothing. An Xiaoxi, standing nearby, watched with glee.

’Relax, it won’t cost you that much,’ Zhang Wei said, somewhat exasperated. The meal would cost at most fifty or sixty thousand. The guy had just gotten 1.3 million today and was still being so stingy.
