The World's Richest Man: Start with the Daily Intelligence System

61: Chapter 61 The Prisoner is CaughtOnly after confirming the boy before her had fallen into a deep sleep did Feng Cui’er remove the damp cloth covering his face.

”Alright, the kid’s out. You lot should get some sleep too. We have to hit the road early tomorrow morning.”

A man in the passenger seat chuckled, ”Who can sleep in this cramped space? How about letting me go out for some fun? I hear City Name is a big place with all sorts of wild games. It’s not easy coming here once, might as well go see for myself.”

Feng Cui’er immediately slapped the man across the face, scolding, ”I suggest you keep that thing of yours in check. Otherwise, this old lady will cut it off sooner or later.”

The man covered his face, not daring to fight back, only complaining, ”You two can work off your frustrations on each other, but I’m left alone. It’s torture holding it in.”

The scar-faced man in the driver’s seat mocked, ”You bastard just need a good beating. I heard that Jiang Jianhua is filthy rich. When we demand a ransom of tens of millions, what kind of girl won’t you be able to find?”

As they spoke, they saw a security guard sauntering over lazily. The three immediately fell silent, staring intently at the approaching figure.

The guard swayed his way to the van, raised his flashlight to shine inside, then impatiently knocked on the window.

The scar-faced man in the driver’s seat forced himself to stay calm, rolling down the window and asking, ”What’s up, sir?”

The guard looked young but wore an expression of utter impatience. ”Are you planning to spend the night in the car?”

”That’s right. Our family’s heading south for work, can’t afford a hotel, so we’re making do in the car for the night. We’ll leave first thing tomorrow. Don’t worry, we’ll definitely pay the parking fee.”

The guard held up a clipboard and handed it over. ”I don’t care how long you stay. Parking lot rules: if you’re sleeping in the vehicle, fill in your name and phone number.”

The man nodded with a simple, honest expression, took the clipboard, and scribbled down a random name and number. The guard didn’t even glance at it, taking it back and preparing to leave.

The three in the car collectively sighed in relief. Just then, the guard seemed to remember something and turned back. They tensed up instantly. ”Could he be suspicious?” Feng Cui’s right hand secretly reached for the dagger at her waist.

The guard pointed toward the security booth at the entrance. ”If you need to pee at night, there’s a toilet over there. If you dare just pick a corner, the cameras on my side are watching. You’ll have to clean it up before you leave. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.” With that, he swayed off, muttering under his breath the whole time, ”Damn manager, said I can’t get my wages docked this month no matter what.”

The man in the passenger seat cursed viciously, ”That idiot... If I didn’t have a big job on my hands, I’d definitely break his dog legs.”

”Enough, get some sleep. Don’t cause trouble.” Feng Cui’er put down the dagger, confirmed the boy lying beside her showed no signs of waking, then closed her eyes and leaned back against the rear seat.

The parking lot was pitch black in the dead of night, only a faint light emanating from the security booth. After an unknown length of time, the man in the driver’s seat woke up, mumbling, ”Gotta piss. I’m going to relieve myself.”

He opened the car door, hesitated for a moment, then reluctantly headed toward the security booth.

After what felt like a long time, just as Feng Cui’er was starting to wonder why her man was taking so long, she saw the security guard running over in a panic, even tripping and falling on the way.

Finally reaching the van, he desperately pounded on the window and shouted, ”One of the men from your car suddenly collapsed while using the toilet! He’s foaming at the mouth now! Come quick and take a look!”

Feng Cui’er was shocked. Her man had always been in good health, how could he collapse suddenly? Without time to think, she hurriedly got out of the car and followed the guard toward the entrance, not forgetting to turn and instruct the man in the passenger seat to keep an eye on the vehicle.

Another ten or so minutes passed, and the guard came running back again, shouting, ”Come help! Your companion is too heavy, the two of us can’t lift him!”

The man in the passenger seat was already restless in the car. Hearing this, he didn’t suspect a thing and followed the guard toward the entrance.

Near the entrance security booth, he saw Feng Cui’er and the other man lying on the ground motionless, their hands tightly bound behind their backs with rope.

At that moment, the guard suddenly darted into a corner and vanished. Before he could react, he felt a vicious gust of wind from behind. Then, everything went black, and he lost consciousness.

Zhang Hong tossed aside the wooden club in his hand. ”This one’s out cold.” Wang Sheng walked over and kicked the man’s vital areas with his foot. Confirming no reaction, he took some rope and bound him securely as well.

Only then did Liu Haorui emerge from a nearby corner, laughing heartily, ”So, how was my acting?” Zhang Hong and Wang Sheng both gave him a thumbs-up.

Just then, Zhang Wei’s voice came through the Bluetooth earpiece: ”Alright, we know your acting’s on point. Now hurry to the van and rescue the kid, then toss these three heartless bastards into the trunk.”

He then took a pack of double happiness cigarettes and handed it to the real security guard standing nearby. ”Uncle, we’d appreciate it if you could come with us to the Criminal Police Brigade once. Just to verify things for us.”

With such a major incident happening in the parking lot, the security guard knew he couldn’t avoid involvement. Now, holding the cigarettes, he nodded eagerly in agreement.

One Hour Later

Inside the Criminal Police Brigade office

Zuo Hemei looked at the people sitting before her and rubbed her temples. ”So, you just lured them out one by one and knocked them out like that?”

Zhang Wei smiled. ”As you can see, that’s exactly what happened.”

Zuo Hemei gave a bitter laugh. ”A few days ago, we just caught a murder fugitive, and today you bring me a kidnapping gang. Sometimes I’m not even sure who the real criminal police are—you or me.”

”Isn’t this just acting bravely for justice? We happened upon it, so of course we had to help. Besides, didn’t I deliver them to you right away?” Zhang Wei replied with a grin.

At that moment, an officer walked in, glanced at the group, and said to Zuo Hemei, ”Captain Zuo, we’ve confirmed the kidnapped child is the youngest son of Chairman Jiang from Xuzhou Heavy Industry. These three suspects have prior records in J Province. They’re undoubtedly repeat offenders.”

Zuo Hemei nodded. The case was practically ironclad. ”Notify Xuzhou to send someone to take the child home.” She then turned to Zhang Wei. ”You’ll give your statements later. If everything checks out, you can go. But next time you encounter something like this, you must call the police immediately, understand?”

Zhang Wei nodded. Beside him, An Xiaoxi piped up in a pitiful tone, ”Sister Zuo, we’ve worked hard all night, and it’s almost dawn. Could you treat us to breakfast in the cafeteria?”

Next to her, Liu Haorui, remembering the meat buns from the Criminal Police Brigade cafeteria, was practically drooling, also looking at Zuo Hemei with hopeful eyes.

”Fine, fine. I’m a bit hungry myself. Let’s go together.” Zuo Hemei massaged her temples, somewhat exasperated. With these two foodies around, her meal card was probably going to be maxed out again.
