Rebirth of the Godly Prodigal

The place where the lobby manager was referring to was actually the plot of land filled with two-story private apartments behind Ye Lai Xiang. There, the environment was relatively quiet, and the yard area was relatively large. All the apartments there were all old buildings of more than ten years old. The lobby manager said while moving, “This area here was purchased by Young Master’s father a while back. At that time, the manager of this plot of land came to find me and instructed me that if Young Master Dali were to meet with trouble when visiting Ye Lai Xiang, you can come and stay here for a while. He has given me the key to the apartments in this area already.”

Speaking of which, the real estate department of Hong Weiguo’s company had already bought nearly all of the apartments there, but some of them had yet to move away—before purchasing the apartments, Hong Weiguo had already instructed that getting the ownership of the house was enough, and the residents could still continue living in the apartments until the land development project had finished. Thus, there was not much difficulty when purchasing this plot of land.

After reaching a large iron gate, the lobby manager took out the key and opened the door. Everyone entered the double-story building, which covered an area of about 200 square meters. When he arrived at the living room, the lobby manager heaved a sigh of relief. “It was lucky this time. I was scared to death just now. If anything happened to the Young Master, using my life to compensate would not even be sufficient.”

Hong Dali had a weak constitution. This was a well-known fact. If those crazy fans were to accidentally knock him down, everything would be finished for him.

Freely sitting down on the center of the sofa, Hong Dali asked while chuckling, “It’s okay, the problem is not that big. Quickly, tell me what’s with Ye Lai Xiang recently. Why are there so many people nearby?”

The lobby manager sorted out his thoughts before explaining. “Speaking of it, it was because of Young Master’s decision to make Ye Lai Xiang free to visit for a period of time previously. Of course, it’s not entirely because of that. There are other reasons too, which I will slowly explain to you, Young Master.”

“En, do say.” Hong Dali nodded his head.

The others were also full of curiosity in their hearts. In their view, for a nightclub that was on the verge of bankruptcy previously to reach its current state, it was a seemingly impossible task. It was the same as a chicken laying a magical golden egg.

“It’s like this.” The lobby manager said slowly. “In the beginning, it’s unnecessary to say that the nightclub was filled to the brim during the period when it was free. However, after the complimentary period, the number of customers did not immediately decrease. I was very surprised at first, but after careful inquiry, I finally understood why the business continued to thrive.

“Making services complimentary for a week was, in fact, not too big a stimulation of consumption in Ye Lai Xiang. The real reason for the huge rise in popularity was actually because of Young Master’s classmates who often come to play.”

“Wait a minute!” When the lobby manager spoke up to there, Tang Muxin became shocked. “You mean, the rise in popularity here was not because this place was where Sister Nianwei held her first performance, but because of Hong Dali’s classmates?!”

As Tang Muxin said so, everyone else nodded along.

In their opinion, the main reason why this place skyrocketed in popularity was that this was where Li Nianwei debuted and held her first performance which shocked the world and made her famous. This could be said to be the birthplace of the superstar Li Nianwei, which could easily explain the reason behind its sudden rise in popularity.

However, the lobby manager actually said that it was not because of this, causing them to find it really hard to understand.

“In the beginning, I too thought it was because of Miss Nianwei.” The lobby manager wiped the cold sweat on his forehead before continuing, “But it was only after I carefully inquired that I realized it wasn’t because of this. I was wrong…”

“As everyone knows, Miss Li Nianwei can now be regarded as the top star in the country, and her popularity is still rising and soaring. The chance of coming to Ye Lai Xiang can be said to be near zero. If one wants to see Miss Li Nianwei, it’s obviously not a good choice to stay here and wait for her to appear.”

After he said this, everyone nodded in agreement.

His explanation was very simple and clear. Li Nianwei had become famous and would be surrounded by fans wherever she went. How would she dare to come to such a place, who could bear the responsibility if something happened to her? After all, there was a lot of people here, and no one could guarantee her safety.

The lobby manager continued, “Thus, after I asked two people, I realized that I had always been thinking in the wrong direction. However, Ye Lai Xiang’s popularity is indeed very high. If it’s not due to Miss Nianwei, then what is it? Only after I investigated it for a week, did I finally figure everything out thoroughly.”

Speaking up to there, the lobby manager smiled bitterly. “After understanding the real reason, I felt that I have really become old…”

“Aiya, can you just tell us what’s is the real reason now?” Tang Muxin spoke the hearts of everyone. “Why do you like to speak so slowly and make us die of anticipation?”

The lobby manager’s body shook a bit before he looked around and surrendered. “The reason for the good business is because of Young Master’s classmates—everyone knows Young Master’s classmates, they are local tycoons!”

“En, that’s true.” Hong Dali said with a grin. “Those local tycoons do not lack money at all.”

The lobby manager continued, “There are so many local tycoons, and all of them have top-level membership cards, which mean everything is free for them. They usually like to go out and play. Not only do they have a strong background, but they’re also the sole heirs of their families and are filthy rich. So, in the beginning, some smart ones would here to try and build a connection with these local tycoons—if one managed to build a connection with these local tyrants, especially with their family, doing things would be much simpler for them.

“So, in the beginning, successful businessmen started to come here often. Young Master’s classmates who could receive gifts if they came were also willing to come to take a look. This caused the business to start getting better and more popular.” However, speaking up to here, the lobby manager dropped another bait. “However, this was not the main thing!”

He paused for a while, and after he felt deathly stares from everyone around, he quickly decided to say: “The main reason is because of women.”

“Because of women?!” Tang Muxin exclaimed. “How is it related to women? Which woman is so attractive?”

“Not which. It is, in fact, because of a group of women.” The lobby manager smiled bitterly. “In this current day and age, there are a lot of gold-diggers, and I have to admit that this bunch of gold-diggers does look attractive.”

Everyone nodded their heads.

The lobby manager continued, “In Ye Lai Xiang, there is often successful businessman who come here to talk about cooperation, which attracts a large number of gold-diggers. These women have a very strong interest in money, so they easily became close to those people. It’s an undeniable fact that when beautiful women appear, it will also bring along popularity for the business. With their appearance, young people looking for excitement with women were also attracted. And among them were all kinds of nouveau riches.”

“When the nouveau riches started to come, the number of gold-diggers also started to increase. Just like a snowball rolling off a hill, the popularity began to rise without a hitch, which finally resulted in today’s situation. In particular,” the lobby manager said helplessly. “We have dining centers and bathrooms upstairs and… and suites…”

Everyone listening became stunned with their eyes wide open. Even Li Nianwei also opened her mouth, her face depicting her shock.

No one expected it. The original Ye Lai Xiang, which almost went bankrupt and was bought with 8,000,000 would, because of such a reason, in just a few days, experience a complete overturn.

After having finished explaining, the lobby manager wiped the cold sweat off his forehead and finally reported the turnover. “Now, the net profit of Ye Lai Xiang is about… 45,000 yuan, Young Master.”
