Rebirth of the Godly Prodigal

Very quickly, it was noon. Hong Dali packed up his stuff, getting ready for lunch. When he left the classroom and saw Tang Muxin already waiting outside the door, he curiously asked, “Oh? Xinxin, what are you doing here? Aren’t you having lunch by yourself these few days?”

Tang Muxin blushed. Looking left and right and seeing that no one was looking at them, she softly said, “Dali, I wish to have steamboat for lunch. Can you accompany me?” After saying this, this little lass blushed again and added, “It’s best if there are little people around, preferably a private room.”

Oh? Actively inviting me to have steamboat together, best to have it at a place with little people? Preferably a private room?

Hong Dali’s first reaction was that he must have opened the door the wrong way today—his house’s Xinxin couldn’t possibly be actively asking him out for a meal; she was definitely not the kind of person who did things so actively. His second reaction was to wonder if her family had run out of money again.

Therefore, Hong Dali wasn’t very excited, but curiously asked, “Why? This doesn’t seem to be your style!”

“You big idiot, just say if you agree or not!” Tang Muxin’s face went red from anger and angrily said, “If you don’t agree, then I’m leaving. I can’t be bothered with you!”

“I agree, why would I not agree!” Hong Dali snapped his fingers. “Then, let’s move out. Since my house’s Xinxin wants to eat steamboat today, we must go to the best restaurant.”

“Who’s… who’s your house’s Xinxin!” Tang Muxin stamped her foot and ran a few steps, putting a distance of two meters between Hong Dali and her. “Follow behind, you’re not allowed to walk beside me. Otherwise… otherwise, I will pinch your ear!”

This little lass obviously has something going on today. Hong Dali touched his chin. En, I shall ask her properly when we have reached the place.

Boarding his Soaring Angel, the three Prayer Angels lead the way in front and headed towards the most luxurious Imperial Hotel which was in the vicinity. Six female lackeys were responsible for opening the door, while three male lackeys were in charge of seeking the lobby manager. “My Young Master wants to eat steamboat. Listen carefully, I want the best soup base, the best meat, the best environment, and the best service! If anything makes my Young Master unsatisfied, we will smash your shop sign!”

The lobby manager knew that they were not people he could mess with just by their looks and furiously nodded his head like a chicken eating rice. “Yes, yes, yes. Definitely, definitely!”

“Reward him!” Hong Dali displayed an air of nouveau riche. “2,000!”

The three male lackeys chicly walked over to the counter and swiped a card. “What are you still standing here for? Shouldn’t you hurry up and move?” The lobby manager happily went off.

Tang Muxin stood at the side, humphed and said, “Fox exploiting the tiger’s might, what a suitable talent for a lackey!”

Hong Dali expressed his pride. “Of course, my eyesight has always been pretty good.”

Upon reaching the hotel’s best private room, named “Age of Splendor,” the attendant pulled the door open. “Please enter.”

The private room “Age of Splendor” could be described with just one word—splendor.

Everything that appeared in their eye was encased in either gold or silver. With a European styled full-bronze chandelier hanging from the ceiling, the floor was laid with pure a Persian fur carpet. Even the massive wooden dining table was embedded with diamonds. With the most prominent color in the room being the golden color, the room was really magnificent and grand, and it was always the favorite place for the rich to entertain their families and friends.

Hong Dali was very satisfied with the private room’s environment. “Not bad, this place is quite interesting.”

The food was served very quickly, and all of the surrounding people exited the room, leaving only Hong Dali and Tang Muxin. Hong Dali then asked, “Xinxin, you definitely didn’t look for me today just to eat steamboat, right? Now that there’s no one around, you can tell me what’s the issue.”

Space here was big enough, and it certainly could be considered to be very safe. Tang Muxin softly said, “I heard that Uncle Hong came looking for you in school today? And he brought a lot of doctors and machinery with him. Is it because your body’s condition improved greatly?”

“You’re right.” Hong Dali felt strange and asked, “This is a good thing, you came to find me just because of this?”

Tang Muxin looked left and right, came near Hong Dali and spoke into his ears, “Yep. This matter regarding the improvement in your body condition, you definitely, definitely cannot anyhow tell anyone else. Do you understand?”

“Oh? You said the same thing as my dad!” Hong Dali instantly felt horrified. “Why? My dad didn’t tell me the reason, can you at least tell me something?”

“Then, you must bring me along tonight to film that Unexpectedly, Dali Creates Miracles! ” Tang Muxin stuck out her pinky. “And you must promise to follow my instruction and not to tell anyone else about your body’s condition. If you agree, then let’s pinky swear!”

“OK, pinky swear!” Hong Dali stuck out his pinky and hooked it with Tang Muxin’s pinky and swore. Then, he asked covertly, as if he were a thief, “So, what’s the matter?”

Tang Muxin checked the surroundings again, then mysteriously said, “Because of the close relationship between our families, so I know a few of your family’s matters. Such as the once-a-year family meeting and such. Your matter has to do with this family meeting.”

“Are you kidding me?” Hong Dali was horrified and asked, “How has my body’s condition got to do with this family meeting?”

“Of course, it’s related!” Tang Muxin slowly explained to Hong Dali. “Your body has always been very poor in the past, I know that. Your Hong family has a lot of direct and indirect family members—there are all kinds of people in it—and you’re the sole descendant of Uncle Hong. Think about it, if your body’s condition is poor and may die at any moment, what would those people envying your position do?”

“They will…” Thinking to this point, Hong Dali instantly felt his body go cold. “They will definitely not do anything, because I may die at any moment. They just have to wait for me to die. But, whether I’m dead or alive, how is it related to them?”

“How is not related? The relationship is very important!” Tang Muxin’s expression was quite solemn. “They think you will not live long, so once you pass away, when Uncle Hong reaches 60 years of age, he will automatically become an elder of the Hong family. In contrast, 90% of his estates will be handed over to the Hong family, becoming part of the Hong family’s resource pool. Do you know what that means?”

Hearing Tang Muxin’s explanation, Hong Dali immediately understood. “Doesn’t that mean to say that my Dad’s money is being earned for the Hong family? They can get a large sum of money without doing anything?”

Tang Muxin said, “That’s basically what I mean. Although your Hong family doesn’t support useless people, this money will be split amongst those who are capable of earning money. Practically speaking, they only have advantages and no disadvantages.” Pausing for a while, Tang Muxin then continued, “But if suddenly, your body recovered, your chances of suddenly dying would be minimal. Maybe if after 10 or 20 years you’re still alive and kicking, by that time, my Uncle Hong’s time before becoming an elder will be indefinitely prolonged, or maybe he may become an elder directly due to his commercing talent. But one thing’s for sure, Uncle Hong’s assets will be passed to his sole heir, which is you. By that time, they won’t be able to control Uncles Hong’s assets anymore.”

Speaking to this point, Tang Muxin fiercely said, “Think about it, such a large sum of money, who wouldn’t covet it? What’s more, you’re a prodigal, who knows how you will spend this money?”
