Hong Dali: “This is so boring, there’s nothing to do…” He lay on the desk for a bit. “Forget it, I think I’ll go spam on bestowing rewards for the alliance-leader rank for fun…”

The Zhong Dian website exploded once again. “Quick, look, the God-level nouveau riche is spamming on bestowing rewards for the alliance-leader rank again!”

“Yes, yes, quickly come and look!”

The Internet Water Army went: “Brothers, let’s go!”

Things turned chaotic.

On the one hand, Hong Dali was spamming on bestowing rewards for the alliance-leader rank out of boredom. On the other hand, Ji Zhiruo, who was by his side, took a glance at him before turning her head back quickly. After just a while, she looked at him again and gingerly queried: “Young Master Dali, what, what are you doing?”

“Me?” Hong Dali was listless. “I was reading a novel, and then it stopped halfway, so I got bored and started spamming on bestowing rewards for fun. What’s up?”

“No… nothing much,” Ji Zhiruo turned her back in a hurry like a scared little rabbit. After a while, she turned her head again and quietly asked, “Is… is that novel good?”

Eh? Since I have nothing to do anyway, chatting about this seems like a good idea too. Hong Dali nodded resolutely and said, “It’s good!”

“What novel is it? Can you tell me?” Ji Zhiruo asked.

“Sure. ‘God Slayer’ and ‘The Undying’ from Zhong Dian website. They’re all pretty decent. I have nothing else to do, so I’m just spamming on bestowing rewards for the alliance-leader rank.” Hong Dali seemed to have become more spirited. “Zhiruo, do you want to give it a try?”

“I… I think I’ll pass for now.” Ji Zhiruo panicked and continued, “Let me ask Ling Yi and the rest first.”

Classroom group chat:

Ji Zhiruo: “Young Master Dali is reading ‘God Slayer’ and ‘The Undying’ from the Zhong Dian website. He says they’re good.”

Ling Yi: “Didn’t I say that Young Master Dali has found something interesting for the past two days? I’ll go and have a look as well.”

Du Xinzhen: “Yours truly has made a prediction. I predict that this is definitely a good read. I’m in too!”

Half an hour later.

Zhong Dian website once again welcomed the second peak of rewards. This time, it was due to over ten new sockpuppets spamming on bestowing rewards for the alliance-leader rank—

Reader 1: “What the heck, another 5 or 6 God-level nouveau riches are spamming on bestowing rewards for the alliance-leader rank for the ‘God Slayer’!”

Reader 2: “There are also 6 or 7 God-level nouveau riches doing the same for ‘The Undying,’ everyone quickly come and look!”

Internet Water Army Soldier 1: “Brothers, let’s go!”

Meanwhile, in the classroom, the classroom group chat:

Ling Yi went: “Hahaha, this novel is thrilling indeed. This tempo of humiliating the enemy, what a thrill to look at.”

Du Xinzhen: “That’s true. Since it’s favored by Big Bro Dali, it must be a good novel.”

Lang Hao: “A bunch of prodigals.”

Ling Yi: “Piss off Mr. Miser. Hey Xinzhen, how much is your fan value?”

Du Xinzhen: “Just reached two million. Currently, I’m ranked second. How about you?”

Ling Yi: “…”

Five minutes later.

Du Xinzhen: “Damn, you evil brat, silently catching up and overtaking my score? I won’t take this lying down! See what I can do!”

Ten minutes later.

Ling Yi: “Damn, you reached three million plus fan value in such a short time? Damn you!”

Du Xinzhen: “Brouhaha!”

Group chats for authors from various online novel websites:

Author 1: “What the heck, has everyone heard? Ten over God-level nouveau riches appeared at Zhong Dian website. They’re spamming on bestowing rewards for the alliance-leader rank at a crazy rate!”

Author 2: “What’s the big deal about the alliance-leader rank, not like we’ve never seen it before.”

Author 1: “I guarantee you have not seen this one yet. Their fan value is a few million each in just one day. I heard it’s for a novel called ‘God Slayer,’ ‘The Undying,’ and a few more. I think they were all novels that didn’t succeed at first.”

Author 2: “Serious? A few million? Damn, I have to go and see this!”

Author 3: “Could it be a hype of the website?”

Author 1: “It can’t be. Who would even make a hype on a shitty novel? Everyone, quickly go and take a look!”

In the classroom, Hong Dali lay on the desk and read the review section of the novel and questioned: “Eh? Who are all these people giving the rewards? So much?”

Ji Zhiruo quietly said, “It’s Ling Yi and the other’s sockpuppets. They’re spamming on bestowing rewards for the alliance-leader rank for fun.”

Hong Dali: “Damn! I cannot tolerate this, their fan values are even about to surpass mine!”

Ji Zhiruo let out a long sigh. Everyone says the mortals have it rough when the Gods fight. Well, look at them. Instead, the authors are being blessed when the God-level nouveau riches fight. It’s not that I don’t understand, but that the world is changing too quickly…

Author’s group chat:

Author 1: “What the heck, they’re still spamming, this is really a God-level nouveau riche! These ten over people have been at it for over half an hour!”

Author 2: “This is making me so envious. I’ll try it on my next book too and see if I can attract any God-level nouveau riches.”

Author 3: “I’ve just seen the authors’ benefits on the website. Really impressive. Coupled with the God-level nouveau riches, I think it’s worth a try.”

Author 1: “Yup, I’ll try it too once I have completed my current book in a few days time. I’ll report the findings then.”

Author 4: “You guys are so slow. I’ve already done 6000 words and uploaded it just now. And even the inspection has passed.”

Author 3: “Damn, that was quick! I cannot tolerate this, I’m going too!”

Zhong Dian website, General manager’s office.

The secretary broke out in cold sweat as he stood in front of the General manager’s office desk and reported, “Director Yang, ten over rich readers have appeared on the website. They’re spamming on bestowing rewards for the alliance-leader rank at an alarming rate.”

Director Yang: “Well, that worked out pretty quickly? Any idea about their identities?”

The secretary: “I think they’re Young Master’s classmates. The problem is that, the web traffic…”

“What’s with the traffic? Go on, since when have you become like this, always stuttering?” Director Yang hurriedly probed.

“The traffic is still increasing exponentially. Now, it has already increased by 40%. And, and…” The secretary gulped and continued, “And the data department computed that within the past two hours, there have already been over 200 authors who have started on new novels. The data department is hot on its heels inspecting them, and they’re about to get overloaded.”

Director Yang leaned back on his chair, seemingly weakened, and let out a long sigh…

The room was silent for a good half minute. Finally, Director Yang screamed himself hoarse, shouting, “Quickly, go and ask that dude Sun Wenyang how we should excessively spend our money next. Go now!”

Business service director’s office.

Secretary: “Sun… Director Sun. Director Yang asked how are we going to spend… spend money excessively next…” At this moment, the secretary greeted Director Sun formally.

Sun Wenyang: “En, don’t panic, we’ll wait for a while. Just get the Finance department to prepare the money in advance. This is still not the right time to use the money.”

Seeing that the secretary was about to leave, Sun Wenyang suddenly called out to her. “Remember to prepare more, at least a million.”

“One… one million!” The secretary instantly broke out in cold sweat. This entire Zhong Dian website is only worth 2.4 million yuan, and he says he’s going to spend a million…

Sun Wenyang: “Why are you so hesitant? Just do as I say. Wait, I don’t think it’s enough. Prepare 1.5 million instead.”

The secretary held his chest and left the room. “This… this is such a huge amount, how am I supposed to bring it across to the people in the finance department…”

Unfortunately, Hong Dali was unaware of this. Otherwise, he would probably have scolded, “I employed you because I heard that you’re good at spending money. You put in so much effort and only spent 1.5 million yuan? How is my little stick supposed to get big if this is all you can do!?”
