Qian Ge Headquarters Building, Tianjing City Central, Level 16.

“CEO Hong, there has been a purchase of several pieces of land over at the West Four Loop’s side in the past few days. The total cost is 270 million yuan, for your perusal.” The secretary gently set a document of about five to six pages down onto Hong Weiguo’s office desk and stood by awaiting her following instructions.

“Oh? That was pretty quick, let me take a look.” Hong Weiguo picked the document up and started perusing it. “Hmm, it’s indeed not too far from Ye Lai Xiang, but the area isn’t that big. 270 million yuan sounds acceptable.” Hong Weiguo set the document down, stood up, and approached the map displaying the area nearby Ye Lai Xiang. He pointed his finger and gestured a little, continuing, “It’s a pity that it’s still rather far. We’ll leave it like that for now and see how it goes. En, how are the relocation intentions of the residents nearby Ye Lai Xiang?”

“As of now, it seems pretty good.” The secretary smiled and continued, “The residents nearby Ye Lai Xiang are generally all actively asking about the relocation issue. After all, exchanging a new building for an old one is a good thing. Those buildings have mostly been around for almost a decade, and they’re simply normal low-rise buildings. Besides, the property management in that small estate is pretty average.”

“Hehe, that’s good then.” Hong Weiguo touched his chin and continued, “Hmm, remember to give them a little something. How about this, tell them this. After the relocation, property fees will be set as 0.2 yuan per square meter per month. And we will ensure that the little estate is safe and clean.”

“Yes, CEO Hong.” The secretary replied.

“By the way, how are the talks for the area surrounding Tianjing Mountain near Fengyuan Lake going?” Hong Weiguo pointed to the map again and continued, “Speaking of which, this place seems decent. If we develop a high-end villa here in the future, I reckon it will fetch a good price.”

“The talks over at that side are about done. In total, there are 12 hills big and small, costing a total of 86 million. We can sign the contract in a few days time.” The secretary thought about it and carefully advised. “CEO Hong, I feel that it would be better if we were to build a golf course over there. In this way, we can link the villa with some sort of entertainment.”

“A golf course?” Hong Weiguo muttered for a bit and decisively shook his head. “Forget it, that’s pretty bad for the environment, especially our natural water sources. It may be beneficial in the short term, but I don’t think it’s any good in the long run. Let’s put that aside for now.”

“Noted.”

…

“Ah, class dismissed! Finally!” Hong Dali had a good, long backstretch. I finally made it through the day in school. I’ll have dinner, then it’s off to the auction.

Hong Dali packed his belongings, grabbed his bag, and leisurely strolled out of the classroom. But just as he had left the classroom, Ji Zhiruo’s voice sounded. “Young… Young Master Dali. Can you, can you wait for me a bit?”

Hmm? Seems like she’s had something on her mind all day long. Hong Dali stopped his footsteps and curiously asked, “Zhiruo, what’s wrong? Something bugging you today? I’ve been getting the feeling that you’re acting pretty strange for the past few days.”

It was no wonder Hong Dali said that. Ji Zhiruo seemed to be really down for the past few days. She had been out of sorts when hanging out with her classmates.

Ji Zhiruo jogged towards Hong Dali and softly said, “Young Master Dali, can, can you do me a favor?”

“What’s wrong? What’s making you look so grieved? Oh, you’re tearing up, who bullied you?” Hong Dali had a pretty decent impression of Ji Zhiruo. This little girl had been rather stable and obedient. She was the apple of the teachers’ and her classmates’ eyes.

“I… I…” Ji Zhiruo hesitated for a good while before she continued, “Young Master Dali, can, can you lend me some money? My family’s business is having some issues recently, and my dad has grown so much more white hair.”

“Oh, I thought it was something more serious.” Hong Dali shoved his bank card into Ji Zhiruo’s hands without question and continued, “The pin is six zeros. Just take whatever you need. How much is left in there… forget it, I can’t remember. But I reckon there should be two or three million in there. If it’s not enough, just let me know, and I’ll ask for more from my family.”

“It’s enough, it’s enough!” Ji Zhiruo was nearly moved to tears. “My family’s capital flow has broken, and I heard from my dad that we’re down by less than two million. This money is definitely enough.”

Ji Zhiruo hurriedly continued, “I will definitely repay you!”

“Haha, no issue, it’s just a small matter, there’s no need for all the formality.” Hong Dali snorted his nose and waved to Ji Zhiruo, leaving her with his chic back view. “It’s just one less chance for squandering, no big deal. You can go home first, I have a movie to film tonight.”

“Young Master Dali…” Two streams of tears flowed down from the corners of her eyes. Ji Zhiruo bowed deeply towards Hong Dali while thinking to herself,After this crisis, I will definitely repay you more than what I took!

Hong Dali left the school, got on the car, and said to Ling Xiaoyi, “Xiaoyi, help me ask for some money from my family later, I’m out of money.”

Ling Xiaoyi nodded and replied, “Yes, Young Master.”

“Out of money!” Tang Muxin, who was seated by the side, asked with surprise, “Don’t you have a few million in your card? How did you use it up so fast?”

“Doesn’t count as spending it away. “Hong Dali gestured and continued, “Ji Zhiruo said her family is facing some issues and needs a few million, so I lent her the money.”

“Didn’t you ask for an IOU or something?” Tang Muxin glared at him till her eyes turned into a perfectly round shape. “You lent her the money just like that?”

Hong Dali replied, bewildered, “Yeah. I don’t even know how much is left in the card, how am I supposed to ask her for an IOU? Besides, as a prodigal, how can I even do something like asking someone for an IOU?”

“Seriously, you…” Tang Muxin stopped in her tracks and suddenly burst out laughing, as she reached her hands out to pinch Hong Dali’s cheeks. “Didn’t think you would be such a righteous and considerate person.”

Hong Dali’s normally decently handsome face was pinched to distortion, as he said, “Hey stop, stop. Come to think of it, don’t you have some self-sense a fiancée should have? Shouldn’t you leave me some man’s pride?”

“Fine.” Tang Muxin grinned and let go. “By the way, Dali, have you prepared how you’re going to squander away tonight? That Liu Mingxin is not just some Tom, Dick, or Harry. You’re not going to be able to bluff him if you don’t act well.”

Hong Dali was pretty serious towards Liu Mingxin.

Liu Mingxin was rich, had status, had a respectable family history, was intelligent and handsome. However you look at it, this dude was definitely a lucky person born with the destiny to be the main character of a story.

Hong Dali couldn’t care less about competing with this dude. Being a blissful, happy, carefree prodigal was what he sought and his lifelong dream.

Hence, Hong Dali decisively said, “Of course, I’ve thought about it. I can’t be bothered with him, he can piss off. Let’s go, let’s have something to eat, and then we’ll go for the auction tonight. Speaking of which, this is a charity auction, eh. Is all the money going to be used for charity?”

“Of course, why would it be called a charity auction otherwise.” Tang Muxin nodded and continued, “So, it seems like this squandering is actually for a good cause. How else do you think I’d be this supportive this time.”

“OK, I got it.” Hong Dali shrugged his shoulders and continued, “When the time comes, just tell me if anything catches your eye. I’ll buy it for you.”

“No way!” Tang Muxin shook her head decisively and continued, “I don’t like such expensive stuff, it makes me feel uneasy. You just go ahead and buy whatever you like, I’ll just have a look.”

“Alright then, we’ll see how it goes.” Hong Dali looked out of the window and continued, “OK, let’s go and have our meal first!”
