“I just wanted to squander.”

Hearing Hong Dali, the host started to sweat profusely. Fortunately, the host was quick-witted and was able to respond quickly. “Ah ha ha. Mr. Hong Dali must be joking. Oh yes, I forgot to inform you, we’re broadcasting live now. Mr. Hong Dali’s words are currently being transmitted to the world.”

Hong Dali: “Live broadcast? Wait a minute. What channel is this?”

The host wiped his sweat away. “This is Tianjing Variety Channel.”

Hong Dali: “Xiaoyi, change the channel to Tianjing Variety Channel.” A short moment later, Hong Dali started speaking. “Hello, can you hear me? Can you hear what I’m saying? Aye? It seems like this is really broadcasting live. Whatever I’m saying can be heard from the television. This is fun!”

The host was on the verge of breaking down. “Mr. Hong Dali, do you believe me now?”

Hong Dali: “Ah yes, I believe you. What were you asking me? What plan? I was not planning anything.”

Host: “How could that be? Miss Li Nianwei’s concert was so successful that her net worth shot up to the skies within days. We would like to find out, where did you get the inspiration for this god-level plan?”

Hong Dali: “Oh, the concert. What did I do then? I really had no plans. I only wanted to squander. I was bored, and there was nothing to do anyway…”

Live broadcast and yet his response was so insipid! The host decisively ended the call. “My apologies everyone. We must have got the wrong person. Please hold on for a moment. We must have gotten the number wrong.” While speaking, he winked at the people in the backstage, attempting to get their attention to call someone else more accommodating. If this continued, the program was sure to crumble.

Hong Dali was cursing at the phone on the other end. “Heck, why is this person so lacking in quality. Can’t I speak the truth? Don’t tell me I have to lie to accommodate you? Ridiculous. Completely ridiculous!”

Xiaoyi stood in the corner wiping her sweat. This young master really dared to speak his mind. But he really didn’t have to care too much about this. With his background and status, he couldn’t care less about this TV program.

Hong Dali continued grumbling for a while, and later threw Ling Xiaoyi’s phone out.

Ling Xiaoyi was aggrieved. “Young Master, that phone… belongs to me…”

Hong Dali: “It’s alright. I’ll give mine to you.” Hong Dali gave away a limited edition smartphone that cost 125,000 yuan just like that…

It went quiet in the room for a while. Hong Dali suddenly rubbed his chin and said, “Oh yes, Xiaoyi, how is the Zhong Dian website? When will the recruitment drive be held?”

Ling Xiaoyi replied, “Young Master, about forty people have signed up. The interview is set on this coming Saturday at 9 AM. Does Young Master intend to take a look then?”

“This coming Saturday at 9 AM?” Hong Dali rubbed his chin. “It is 8 PM now. There is nothing much to do, and the streets are crowded and noisy. Let’s arrange for the interview to happen now. Give them a call. Say that I will hold the interview at 9 PM. We will interview whoever can make it.”

“Okay, Young Master.”

9 PM. Chenhui Building, level 8.

Since Hong Dali bought Chenhui Building, his varied collection of things had been moved over. Caiwei Entertainment was situated at level 9. Zhong Dian website was situated at level 8. More than ten plus levels were vacant. Hong Dali did not lack money; hence, he kept them for use later—the way Hong Dali was squandering, the building would be filled up in no time.

The Zhong Dian’s office was at level 8.

When Hong Dali arrived at the door of Zhong Dian website’s office, all the employees were standing in two neat lines at the door. Once Hong Dali walked in with his nine famous lackeys, the employees bowed at the same time. “Hello, Young Master!”

When the general manager of the Zhong Dian website heard that the famous prodigal, Hong Dali, was coming, he immediately gathered all forty employees—It didn’t matter if any of them couldn’t make it, but they would miss out on the chance to get tips!

Within 10 minutes, all the employees gathered. They strongly believed that Young Master Dali would not disappoint them. True enough, Young Master Dali waved his hand before he said anything. “Very efficient, two thousand per person.”

All the employees were filled with gratitude, and a few young female editors were excited. “See, see, see, see. Young Master is different indeed. With nine lackeys following behind him, holding a dog on a leash. Once he spoke, everyone got two thousand yuan of tips. He’s so awesome!”

“Li Nianwei is the perfect wife material, and Hong Dali is the perfect husband material. I wonder if I am Li Nianwei’s type…”

“I heard that acting cute appeals to men. Should I purposely fall down in front of Hong Dali to show him my face? Forget it. If the nine lackeys think I’m trying to assassinate Hong Dali, I’m sure to be beaten to death…”

Hong Dali didn’t know what they were thinking at all. He sniffed and asked, “Where are the interviewees? Let’s go. Bring me to them. See if any of them can make me happy.”

“Okay.” The Human Resource manager led the way. “They’re in the meeting room waiting for Young Master to arrive. Thirty-six people turned up tonight. The rest couldn’t make it.”

“Too bad if they can’t make it.” Hong Dali muttered. “Sometimes fate matters.”

Hong Dali and his lackeys walked into the meeting room like an army. Hong Dali freely sat on the seat in the middle of the room while the Human Resource manager and the general manager sat in the rows on either side. The nine lackeys stood in a row against the wall. The rest of the employees sat down orderly. The interview began.

Hong Dali: “Who is first?”

A man strode forward. “Hello. My name is Jing Shaohui. I graduated from Tianjing University, School of Economics, majored in economic analysis, Ph.D. With regards to the current situation of the company, I’m confident of turning the company’s losses into profits within half a year.”

The Human Resource manager nodded his head and whispered. “He’s not bad. Ph.D. in economics; seems competent.”

General manager: “Um, he will do well.”

Hong Dali listlessly said, “He’s so-so. Next.”

The second person stepped forward. “Hello. My name is Hao Jialiang. I graduated from Tianhai University, School of Chinese Language. I majored in modern language research, Ph.D. I think the most important thing in an online novel website is the quality of novels. I’m confident of being able to increase the quality of novels, turning losses into profits in five months.”

The Human Resource manager whispered. “This one seems not bad as well. Quality is important indeed. He hit the nail on the spot.”

General Manager: “Um. Interesting. This young lad will be able to make it.”

Hong Dali waved his hand, looking listless as before. “So-so. Next.”
