Build a Fifty-meter Giant Mecha at the Beginning!

59: The first actual combat of mecha is about to take place“Can Xiao Zhang continue the experiment?”

China’s Top Leader looked at Zhang Yuanhang, hoping to test the mech’s limits as much as possible.

Only then could the Government decide whether to invest significant resources in building this mech, and how many to build.

“Of course, he can.” Zhang Yuanhang gestured, indicating they could fire with full power.

“All of you, come help too.”

Leader Jia said to the four soldiers around him. Hearing Leader Jia’s words, the four soldiers eagerly picked up rocket launchers, their faces filled with excitement.

Old Wang and the others also retreated to a safe place at this time.

“Bang!”

“Bang!!”

... Leader Jia and the others subjected the mech to ten minutes of horrific bombardment.

At this point, the dust from the explosions obscured everyone’s vision, and no one could observe the condition of the mech’s bombarded areas.

Everyone present was extremely worried, but seeing Zhang Yuanhang, the mech’s creator, look so calm and collected, their worries lessened. If the big shot wasn’t panicking, why should they?

“Bang!”

“Damn it, we’re out of ammo.”

As Leader Jia was about to reload, he realized that all the ammunition they had just brought in had been expended on the mech.

As the smoke and dust cleared, the bombarded part of the mech reappeared in everyone’s sight. “Gulp!”

After ten minutes of bombardment, the mech showed no dents or damage.

Zhang Yuanhang used a tablet to control the mech to perform some actions, and the mech executed them very smoothly.

“Chief, look how powerful Xiao Zhang’s mech is. Even if it’s targeted by enemy fire on the battlefield, it can completely survive.”

Old Wang said to China’s Top Leader, “Furthermore, Xiao Zhang’s mech also has the ability to fly, allowing it to quickly disengage from the battlefield.”

“Mhm, mhm, this big guy has a certain survivability on the battlefield.”

China’s Top Leader nodded.

“Then the production line?” Old Wang wished he could make the decision right now, so that the frontline troops could be equipped with this mech.

“We can build it.” China’s Top Leader nodded, “But for now, only ten mechs will be produced.”

A high-tech mech, it goes without saying, would be extraordinarily expensive. They would build ten first to test the waters.

“Mhm, mhm.” Old Wang could accept ten, after all, the mech was an entirely new weapon platform. If too many were built at once and it proved unsuitable for the battlefield, that would be troublesome.

“The construction site will be chosen in Shancheng.”

China’s Top Leader slowly said, Shancheng is located in the heartland of China, so even if Foreign powers received any news, it would be difficult for it to operate, and there would be no need to transfer the mech or Zhang Yuanhang.

“Mhm, mhm, Shancheng is good, and Xiao Zhang is also from Shancheng, he probably doesn’t want to leave.” Old Wang also fully agreed with China’s Top Leader’s view.

No other place in all of China was more suitable than Shancheng.

“Xiao Zhang, rest well for the next few days, you’ll be busy later.”

China’s Top Leader looked at Zhang Yuanhang with eyes full of apology. At this moment, China’s Top Leader felt like an evil capitalist, mercilessly exploiting Zhang Yuanhang.

“No problem, no problem.”

“It’s just, Chief, can our China’s first mech unit be named after me?”

Zhang Yuanhang asked with a smile, the first mech unit on Blue Star, the first human mech unit, this made Zhang Yuanhang a little excited.

“Hahahaha!!!”

“Xiao Zhang, the first mech unit must, of course, be named after you!”

China’s Top Leader burst into laughter, then patted Zhang Yuanhang on the shoulder.

“Really? That’s great.”

Thinking that the name of a future army unit would be named after him, Zhang Yuanhang excitedly jumped up.

“Alright, Xiao Zhang, I’ll go discuss with the leaders of Shancheng first, about where to place the mech production line later.”

“I’ll be taking my leave now. Our China is counting on you!”

China’s Top Leader looked at Zhang Yuanhang with a serious expression. This genius, no, this divine talent, was China’s treasure, and China’s hope for becoming number one on Blue Star in the future.

“Mhm, mhm, Chief, don’t worry.”

Zhang Yuanhang also nodded solemnly. As a child of China, Zhang Yuanhang also hoped that China could quickly return to its position as number one on Blue Star.

After seeing China’s Top Leader off, Academician Wu, Academician Sun, Academician Zhao, and a host of other researchers gathered around, expressing their deep admiration for Zhang Yuanhang.

At the same time, they asked Zhang Yuanhang again and again how his brain was structured, how he managed to research and build such an invincible mech???

Meanwhile, outside Shancheng Military Base.

The Eagle Nation spies lurking outside were intently watching the military base’s entrances and exits.

Just then, China’s Top Leader’s motorcade, grand and imposing, emerged from the military base.

“A motorcade came out. Is this motorcade protecting Zhang Yuanhang?”

“I think it’s possible, after all, the reason there are so many soldiers in this military base right now is because of Zhang Yuanhang.”

“Leave one or two people to continue watching the entrances and exits, the rest of us follow, let’s move.”

... The Eagle Nation spies mistakenly took China’s Top Leader for their target, Zhang Yuanhang.

They brought all the weapons that Eagle Nation had painstakingly sent into China, hoping to quickly kill ’Zhang Yuanhang’.

After driving for nearly half an hour, the motorcade reached the ambush site of the Eagle Nation spies. This place was half an hour’s drive from the military base; by the time reinforcements arrived, they would have long since escaped.

At this moment, twelve rocket launchers were aimed at the three heavily protected vehicles.

“Bang!”

All twelve rockets hit their targets.

Fortunately, their targets, the three vehicles, were all bulletproof cars with exceptionally thick armor, otherwise China’s Top Leader, who was inside, would have been in danger.

“Enemy attack!!!”

The motorcade’s escort personnel couldn’t believe that someone dared to attack The Top Leader’s motorcade.

The Eagle Nation spy leading the team was now in a panic, “How do I feel like I’ve caused a huge disaster???”

“This is The Top Leader’s motorcade, we are under attack, requesting support, requesting support.”

At this moment, the nearby Shancheng Military Base also received the news.

“What!!!” Old Wang’s eyes almost popped out, China’s Top Leader’s motorcade had been attacked.

“Old Wang, is Chief alright?” Zhang Yuanhang immediately asked.

“I don’t know, Leader Jia, immediately take your men to rescue him.” Old Wang said, “Remember, be as fast as possible, I hope the security personnel can hold on!!!”

Old Wang was cursing inwardly at this moment, all the helicopters at this military base had just left to perform missions, there wasn’t a single flying vehicle in the entire base.

A hint of worry appeared in everyone’s eyes. Half an hour’s drive, by the time they arrived, it would be too late.

Zhang Yuanhang looked at the mech beside him!

“Xiao Zhang, do you want to deploy the mech directly for rescue?” Lin Yun saw Zhang Yuanhang looking at the mech and quickly asked, while also thinking that deploying the mech seemed faster at this moment.

The mech had been continuously fueled, and its four engines at the back could be used immediately.

“That’s right, at this moment, only the mech can make it in time.”

Zhang Yuanhang nodded.

Ground forces couldn’t arrive immediately, and air forces would have to come from the airport, plus takeoff time, which would take at least ten minutes.
