My Players Are So Fierce

However, they did not introduce the highest-end Dragon Knights technology from Transylvania, mainly because the complete production technology is all in the hands of the Half-body Men, especially the wetware core, whose origin is forbidden technology leaked from the Half-body Men.

They can build this thing anytime they want, the only thing limiting them is overcoming moral barriers and finding a sufficiently courageous warrior spirit.

The first one is easy to solve, as for the latter… well, with the current timid state of the Half-body Man collective, hoping to find it within their own race is likely to end in disappointment.

In short, the Transylvania official made a killing in this arms storage event involving the Half-body Men, although Maxim is worried that the spread of technology will erase the People’s Army’s advantage, Murphy believes that the isolation of his Monster General has still not been breached.

“Because the First National Armory is already developing a new generation of war weapons.”

In the captain’s cabin of the Hammer of Murphy, Murphy sat at the desk, explaining to Maxim across from him:

“For us, bombing airships are ‘soon-to-be-outdated’ technology, replacing imprecise bombing with aircraft bombs and researching and manufacturing ‘intelligent bombs’ have already been localized with blueprints. Their weapons are similar in concept in the foreign world, relying on specialized Calculating Pearls for short-term maneuvering and precision targeting of aircraft bombs. In our next-gen war systems, every incendiary bomb we throw will land on enemy heads with a more deadly posture. The progress on single-soldier weapon development is beyond your imagination, Mark. The Berserker Rifle is great, but it’s not good enough. In at most half a year, our warriors will have even wilder firepower. What is more precious is that the foreign Weapon Masters don’t simply copy blueprints; like with precision bombs, they have localized improvements on the technology. I heard they are developing a special automatic weapon, its ammunition will completely abandon traditional fire and instead use Flaming Gold Crystal for ignition, its preset destructive power easily able to crush Cannibal Demons’ bodies. The wild technicians originally planned to name it ‘Explosive Arrow Gun’. But considering copyright issues, so they made modifications and called it ‘Destruction Gun’.”

“Looks like I’ve stayed on the front lines too long and am unaware of the series of changes happening in the rear, which is my fault. Master, after returning this time, I will definitely go to our armory and seriously investigate, and will never make similar mistakes again.”

Maxim felt relieved hearing this explanation.

He held his formal military cap and said to Murphy:

“Then I will continue to stay here supervising the battle, leading our warriors to completely clear out the Filthy Jackal People that remain in this land of suffering, then leading the Expeditionary Army back to the Maginot Line via Lake Xiuerpres. I wish you a safe journey back to Charldo Harbor.”

“Mm, and take some time for yourself with Lionea, Mark.”

Murphy said with a smile:

“She has gained her freedom, and her latter half of life is destined to create new stories with you. I know you have a reserved and conservative personality, but in front of Lionea, you might consider being a bit more unrestrained, she might be expecting you to be a bit more unrestrained. By the way, Mark, can you explain what’s going on with the tattoo on your arm? Why have you suddenly taken a liking to this style? Are you planning to abandon your past ways and become a ‘midnight bad boy’ smoking, drinking, perming, and tattooed?”

The Vampire Lord asked, prompting Maxim to instinctively touch his left arm.

He thought he had hidden it well enough, but still was discovered by Murphy’s keen observation.

Under Murphy’s gaze, a slightly embarrassed Maxim took off his military uniform jacket, and as the shirt sleeve supported by muscular build rolled up, one could clearly see a tattoo on Maxim’s arm with a maxim he wrote for himself:

“Offer this body to the Midnight Sin’s atonement, may we find peace in the quiet beauty of night.”

Maxim caressed the tattoo on his arm, saying in a low voice:

“This is not the product of pursuing individuality, but because I saw those terrifying sins from the previous Era. Master, after you used the Midnight Echo to awaken my primal anger, during every slumber under the sun, I can recall fragments of those terrible events. I realize those sins are imprinted deep in our souls through the transmission of blood, and without being cleansed, we cannot be forgiven or accepted by the world. Actually, it’s not just me, many Blood Vulture Soldiers have similar feelings and realizations. Even beyond the Blood Vultures, I notice Wolf Poison and Blood Covenant Clans have similar ‘awakened’ ones. Every vampire who has been touched by the Midnight Echo will witness similar visions. I consider this not a bad thing. After all, vampires were once aimless immortals, indulging in degradation under midnight’s temptation, but now it’s different; we have found something worth fighting for a lifetime, something every vampire cannot escape from. This tattoo is a reminder to myself, what my real enemy originates from! And I believe that under your leadership, we will eventually cross the eternal night to reach the dawn of redemption.”

“Oh my god.”

Murphy sighed while covering his eyes after hearing the explanation:

“Triss and Lord Paryen haven’t yet finished organizing the ‘Midnight Scriptures,’ and you all start self-transforming into a state of fanatical believers. I don’t know if this is good or bad, but one thing is certain, there will definitely be a place for you in the faith system that belongs to us in the future.”
