My Players Are So Fierce

Chapter 3110 -1036: Since It’s Dragons and Underground City, There Must Be an Underground City—That’s Only Logical!

The Dwarf Marshal thought his visit might first meet with a show of force, like a squad of Samurai from Westerburg standing at the door, shouting insults at him, or even getting into a brawl.

But it did not happen.

As he stepped onto the deck of the Hammer of Morphy, only a lady Intelligence Officer from Transylvania was there waiting, with no grand spectacle and no angry victims; it seemed Governor Murphy wasn’t planning on broadcasting the arrival of Transylvania’s enemies with fanfare.

Or perhaps, this was meant to be a private conversation.

This attitude relieved Marshal Loren. He, along with General Soros who accompanied him, also felt relieved, chatted briefly with Adel, and then followed her inside the airship.

But upon realizing their direction was towards the medical bay, the Dwarf Marshal began to feel uneasy.

Was this a setup to give him a beating right in the medical bay and then offer emergency treatment on the spot?

Though the Transia People are fierce, they wouldn’t do such things at a diplomatic occasion, would they?

This thought lingered until they walked into the medical bay, where General Soros immediately spotted his wayward son standing outside the glass of the medical room, looking inside with a gaze that was both tense and worried.

Colonel Ron arrived hurriedly, coming to see his close friend first thing after handling battlefield affairs.

He hadn’t even changed out of his armor or cleaned himself up; wearing battle armor covered in bloodstains, with an armed Iron Hammer Guard by his foot; the most noticeable was his left leg.

The trouser leg had been scorched by flames, full of holes, looking like it was a very edgy piece of non-mainstream gear, yet beneath the tattered trouser leg was exposed black machinery.

This sight alone made General Soros’s expression turn gloomy.

Pressured, he expelled his youngest son from the family, intending to protect their reputation, but this caused his relationship with his wife to fall apart, and even his usually supportive eldest son expressed strong dissatisfaction.

Wasn’t it an agreed rivalry between the eldest and youngest sons? Damn, why did they suddenly align at this moment?

Each of you feels for the son, feels for the brother, and no one in the family feels for the father… Alas, such misfortune upon my family.

“You stay here, I’ll go in and take a look.”

Marshal Loren said to his adjutant, giving the father and son some time to talk.

Then he followed Adel into the treatment room ahead, where before entering, a Psychic in a protective suit sanitized him and handed him a dwarf-sized protective suit to put on, which made Marshal Loren feel his sensitive and proud dwarf heart was once again provoked.

However, seeing Murphy in the treatment room also wearing a protective suit, the Marshal ultimately did not react but instead donned the fully-covered suit and walked in.

He finally clearly saw the person lying on the hospital bed, Brigadier General Fraser’s gaunt profile stunned the Dwarf Marshal, who then quickly stepped forward.

“Don’t touch him!”

Mosna, currently serving as the ‘attending physician’, reprimanded:

“Brigadier General Fraser is in the stage of symbiotic enhancement, any external pressure could trigger a stress response in the symbiote adapting to the host’s condition. If you don’t intend to see that creature burst out of the General’s chest, stand outside the safety line.”

“What do you mean by ‘symbiote’?”

The Dwarf Marshal reprimanded:

“Is this another evil experiment? What’s wrong with Fraser? He’s my soldier! Damn it, why has he become like this?”

“Calm down, Marshal.”

Murphy finally spoke.

His gentle voice emerged from the protective suit, saying:

“You shouldn’t expect Brigadier General Fraser to safely lead a thousand men retreating from your army while facing a siege by chaotic fiends several times their number. What you see before you is the posture of a warrior during a turning point in fate, and we are trying to save him.

He Lu!

Introduce the Marshal to Brigadier General Fraser’s current condition.”

“Okay, Governor.”

The vampire He Lu, serving as Mosna’s assistant, was also in a protective suit but wore a distinctive pair of red goggles, giving him a peculiar sense of mystery. He handed a medical report to the Dwarf Marshal standing on a stool examining Fraser’s condition and explained in a mild academic tone:

“The infection the Brigadier General suffered is not merely a deterioration of a wound; it’s the chaotic power catalyzing his flesh towards adverse mutation. This process is extremely rapid and irreversible. What you saw on the battlefield, those filthy fiends, is the Brigadier General’s future form.

If left without external intervention, he would rapidly transform into that form within 48 hours.

He would lose his dignity and consciousness, becoming a puppet of the subspace.

Fortunately, Colonel Ron sent out the message in time and rushed him here before the situation became irreversible. When the General was sent here, his heart had already shrunk by one-third, the entire spleen disappeared, the endocrine system was in complete disarray, and his immune system was fiercely fighting against the filthy transformation, pushing his body temperature beyond safety thresholds.

We could only use radical methods to save him.

As for the ‘symbiote’…”

Having become a professional researcher in bioengineering at R-9 base, He Lu glanced at Murphy, who nodded slightly, so He Lu explained to the Marshal:

“You may understand it as a special type of ‘Creator Relic’, implanted in the General’s body to strengthen his life form and alleviate the further rampant chaotic infection. Over the past seven hours, the General’s vital signs are approaching normal.”
