Chapter 549: Leaving Behind Tenderness

There was only one year left before the fifty-year assessment ended.

“Moth Frog City has a population of nine hundred thousand, and there are twenty-one small towns and eight hundred forty-nine villages in the surrounding areas, with a total population of two million five hundred thirty-three thousand. That is ten times more than fifty years ago!”

Grimm took a look at the recently collected demographic information of Moth Frog City and smiled.

In recent years, Grimm had sent Muyi secretly traveling under a traveling banner to collect information on all the cities that were undergoing the assessment given by the Netherheart Brothers of the First Inherited Vein. From what he had gathered, Moth Frog City was indisputably in the first place.

Among the tenfold-increase in population of Moth Frog City, more than seventy percent were migrants.

The so-called migrant population was naturally a population who had migrated from other neighboring assessed cities to pursue wealth. Moth Frog City had developed into an unquestionable central city among the surrounding cities.

Walking on the bustling streets.

The construction of Moth Frog City’s sky port was still ongoing. It seemed to have become the symbol of the town. Although it was still far from the completion stage, an unknown number of construction workers and technicians were working on this sky port of more than a hundred meters.

Of course, compared to some rich cities in the center of the Holy Tower of Six Rings, this sky port, when completed, meant nothing.

But for the wilderness that had only been developed by the Hydra Wrath Sorcerer Academy, this sky port was a miracle in the eyes of the civilians who had long been accustomed to a backward life!

Grimm shook his head with a sense of pity. During his tenure as the city governor, he would not get to see the day when the sky port was completed.

This was because the assessment was about to end.

Under Grimm’s proposition, Moth Frog City had also opened both a leisure square and a public welfare institution for the Knights Retirement Home. The slums were vigorously renovated and rebuilt under Grimm’s expenditure of gold coins. All roads in the city had been paved with bluestones.

At the same time, due to the establishment of the Knight’s Moral Course, Moth Frog City had become a well-known civilized city.

This signified that Moth Frog City was not only the economic center of this large area, but also a cultural center. Little Myna’s series of books such as the “Knight’s Rule of Conduct”, “Knight’s Dignity and Glory”, “Knight’s Unyielding and Loyalty”, and more, had begun to spread culture among Knights in Moth Frog City.

It seemed that the Knights Teaching Academy of Moth Frog City was too famous, leading to the rapid decline of those in Dawn Protector City, Love Bee City, and Bataatti City.

On the streets, the residents saluted Grimm. They, with the governor’s presence, had become accustomed to walking around the streets like ordinary residents without the protection of Knights.

The residents smiled from the bottom of their hearts. These were smiles full of hope for life.

“Sir.”

A new accountant ran over with round black eyes and sweat on his forehead. As a young man, he had replaced his old father.

“What now?”

Grimm turned to ask.

A few days ago, both Muyi and Magnolia had been sent out by Grimm to handle the wolf disaster in a village east of Moth Frog City. Two days ago, they received a message of a rotten insect disaster in a large oak garden. The Hydra Wrath Sorcerer Academy had released a number of Sorcerer-Apprenticeships.

It should not happen again.

There was no other way, ordinary human beings were too fragile.

Natural phenomena in the eyes of some Sorcerers were disasters for ordinary human beings, especially in the newly-developed wilderness of the Hydra Wrath Sorcerer Academy, disasters were very common.

Grunt, grunt, grunt.

The accountant gasped audibly.

“It’s Vivian Port of the Doma River. There is a group of wild fish monsters there. A small merchant ship was overthrown yesterday. This kind of mission will not be executed until the Hydra Wrath Sorcerer Academy announces a Sorcerer mission.”

‘Oh?’

After giving it a thought, Grimm said lightly, “I’ll go take a look.”

In the evening.

Grimm stood on the thirty-meter-large Thousand-Eyed Carcinus, with its huge shadow casted upon the setting sun. The residents of Vivian Port were scared senseless by the nightmare-like scary monster.

The Port Guard Knights looked up at the sky, with only the trembling of their beings that remained.

Because of the school of monstrous fish, both the merchants and sailors were forced to berth on the merchant ship near the port. They stared blankly at the airborne colossal being.

Such a monster was not something that humans could resist!

This…

They were afraid that only a Sorcerer could..

‘Hmm?’

Suddenly, Grimm flew down from the Thousand-Eyed Carcinus and calmed the port residents and merchants down, “Don’t be alarmed! This is Thousand-Eyed Carcinus, a friend of Moth Frog City, here to restore order to the port! Moth Frog City has the strength and the ability to maintain order in the territory. Everyone please work and live without any worries! ”

“Wow, am I seeing this right? It’s Governor Grimm!”

“It really is Governor Grimm! This monster is the guardian of Moth Frog City?”

Both merchants and sailors on the merchant ship were relieved. Some even plopped onto the deck and let out a huge sigh of relief like they had escaped death, “Great, it’s not a monster attacking…”

Grimm smiled. Looking at the river in front of Vivian Port where the dorsal fins of the school of four or five-meter-long monstrous fish were sticking out on the surface, Grimm said lowly, “Thousand-Eyed Carcinus, you can change your flavor today.”

“Okay, Lord Grimm.”

After a dull response from Thousand-Eyed Carcinus, it plunged into the Doma River, and huge waves were formed. A large wave of water splashed onto the port in an instant. From time to time, a series of long monstrous fish jumped out of the water. Caught by the underwater giant forceps, only a large swath of blood was left after a few moments.

After half an hourglass, Thousand-Eyed Carcinus flew out of the river.

It was already night time. Magic lights illuminated the port, as the river water ran along the long red hair of Thousand-Eyed Carcinus.

“Lord Grimm, I’m full.”

Grimm looked at the Doma River in front of Vivian Port, and then at the carcasses of those fish monsters. He nodded with satisfaction toward Thousand-Eyed Carcinus.

Grimm turned to the spectating port residents and merchants, and said: “Now that the fish monster problem has been resolved, the merchants who have suffered from loss yesterday will be given the corresponding loss subsidies. Be rest assured that you have come to Moth Frog City to carry on legal commercial trading! Moth Frog City has the strength and ability to give everyone a safe and stable trading environment! ”

After appeasing both the port residents and merchants, Grimm flew to the back of Thousand-Eyed Carcinus and left Vivian Port.

One year later.

“Master, this is my Mission Contract Book.”

In the governor’s office, a hundred-year-old Sorceress-Apprentice was holding her Mission Contract Book as she said respectfully to Grimm. This marked the end of Grimm’s Moth Frog City Governor Evaluation Time Mission.

With Grimm letting out a silent sigh, something appeared on his shoulder in a flash. It was Little Myna.

“Caw caw. Master, what’s wrong?”

Little Myna asked curiously.

Grimm said lightly, “Bid farewell to your students and prepare yourself. Our mission is over, it’s time to go back.”

By going back, he was naturally referring to the Holy Tower of Seven Rings.

After all, Grimm was just a Level-1 Sorcerer. The only thing that could help Master Hydra Wrath was to make Moth Frog City better, with a larger population, more Sorcerer-Apprentices, and more births of Sorcerers. The chances of gathering a larger Mana Pool would then be greater.

That was all.

Like the World Lords, the Stigmata Sorcerers’ powers no longer represented themselves, but a responsibility to maintain development.

For fifty years, Grimm had led the development of Moth Frog City step by step and achieved rather impressive achievements.

But if there were no Stigmata Sorcerers above them, how many Sorcerers were willing to spend their precious time to provide their own wisdom for the development of these civilians?

The Hydra Wrath Sorcerers had spent a total of five hundred years turning the vicinity of the Hydra Wrath Sorcerer Academy into a greenhouse suitable for ordinary human beings, leading the development of hundreds and thousands of ‘Moth Frog Cities’. After using the lands, the native Sorcerers born there had gathered their own Mana Pool!

The Mana Pool was hard-won. It was the responsibility of the Stigmata Sorcerer!

“Oh… understood.”

Little Myna nodded, and flew out of the governor’s office.

After Grimm nodded toward the new Sorceress-Apprentice of Moth Frog City, he turned to the accountant who showed strong perseverance and said, “Tell Muyi and Magnolia to come here.”

After two hourglasses.

Grimm stood on his feet after both Muyi and Magnolia had received the transplantation of the Great Bloodfalls Lavawyvern Sorcery Seeds. After awakening the two anesthetized individuals, he handed over to them a complicated map that was brief but incomparably large.

“In the future, you will cultivate both your Qi and blood energy day after day, and exert the power of the Great Bloodfalls Lavawyvern. This is the map to go to the Underground Abyss World Knights Perseverance Academy, and the pure sulfur powder you will need. Based on your estimated speed, the fastest you would take to get there is about thirty years. Pay attention to the amount of sulfur powder you have while on your journey. ”

Muvivi had been summoned to the Hydra Wrath Sorcerer Academy, as she had become a Sorceress-Apprentice. As for whether she could follow the path of a Sorcerer, it was all up to her.

“Thank you, Lord Grimm.”

“Thank you, Master.”

The two of them felt the Qi and blood energy in their bodies, as if they had unlimited potential, and wept with joy.

Grimm nodded, and Little Myna appeared on his shoulder in a flash. He could see that this fellow was feeling down because he was about to leave the Knights Academy, which was about to be his own.

Slowly, Grimm put the gray-white spiral patterned Mask of Truth on again, took out the Sabbatic Goat Staff, and stepped out of the governor’s office step by step.

However, the moment Grimm stepped out of the governor’s office’s main door, he saw hundreds of thousands of town residents neatly lined up on the streets, silently looking at him. The strong sense of perseverance and feelings of gratitude they were exuding made the whole street extremely quiet and somewhat heavy.

“Sir, they have all come to see you off after they found out that you are about to leave.”

Behind Grimm, the black-frame spectacled accountant’s eyes were slightly moist, as he said with a croak.

This accountant, after his father had replaced the former corrupted accountant, had watched Grimm gradually develop Moth Frog City.

Grimm stood in place for a long time, and seemed to have no idea what to say. The rays of the sunset hit the face full of mysterious gray-white spirals of truth, in such a way that both the mystery and coldness of the Dark Sorcerer displayed a hint of human tenderness.

Grimm’s eyes lost focus, and the evening breeze blew both his sorcerer’s robe and long blond hair, as he hastily dried the corners of his eyes.

Facing both the setting sun and the evening wind, Gimm finally murmured, “Return home everyone, and live a good life.”

With nothing more than those words, Grimm took Little Myna to the huge structure of Thousand-Eyed Carcinus in the sky and flew away from the city without looking back.

“Master Grimm! One day in the future, I will be like you…”

Behind Grimm, Muyi, who was steady and silent as ever, suddenly shed tears and yelled in the direction of Grimm who was flying toward the distant horizon. The inspirational shout disappeared along with Grimm’s distant figure.
