A Sorcerer’s Journey

Chapter 543: The Separation Plan

“Governor, I have decided to sign this contract.”

The sixteen-year-old Legendary Knight, Muyi, spread the contract that Grimm gave the day before on the ground. After signing in accordance with Grimm’s instructions, the contract suddenly disappeared with a wave.

Grimm looked at the somewhat childish Legendary Knight and nodded his head with satisfaction, “From today onward, follow me until my term of office as the governor expires.”

“Yes.”

After Muyi responded while kneeling on one knee, he silently walked toward Grimm.

From the Knights Teaching Academy that was opened a few years ago, Grimm had finally obtained his harvest after large amounts of capital investment year after year, when a Knight with good constitution foundation in the Moth Frog Town had been born.

If a former great noble of Moth Frog Town could do this, his knowledge would be regarded as prospective knowledge. But for Grimm as a Sorcerer, it seemed to be something taken for granted.

Opening the Knights Academy should be something that every Sorcerer could think of.

The only thing was that many people had thought of it but they could not do it, because each Sorcerer had different thoughts and plans!

With this Legendary Knight and a large number of Knights with good basic qualities, it was time for Moth Frog Town to recapture both the gold and blood agate mines.

Not only to regain their own property, but also to take the initiative to attack and capture the resources of other nearby cities!

But for now, they had to wait, waiting for the Legendary Knight to lose his childishness and become a Legendary Knight who was mature in psychology, body and behavior.

***

Two months later.

Grimm sat on a wooden chair, listening to reports.

“The governor of the Dawn Protector City had implemented a birth-reward program eight years ago, vigorously encouraging territorial residents to have more births and punishing unmarried men and women of the appropriate age. However, for this year, there was insufficient food due to the surge in population and the continuous rainfall, causing a famine. Many poor people have started to come here to find a livelihood, and have joined the paving plan and the construction of the Doma River port. ”

A scout Knight knelt on one knee and reported his investigation to Grimm.

“Ok.”

Grimm nodded and asked, “So, how’s the situation with the Knights Armed Escort there? Is there any development?”

“Governor, due to some chaos caused by the famine, the Dawn Protector City is under martial law, and I cannot probe within it.”

The scout Knight answered.

From the gleeful voice of the Knight, Grimm realized that the situation over at Dawn Protector City was less than optimistic.

“It seems that the situation of Dawn Protector City, which is managed by disciples and students of this master, is not very good. With the sudden surge in population, the young ones have not reached the labor age, and there are no corresponding resources to support them. If they don’t want their internal system to collapse, then they will have to plunder resources.”

If the Dawn Protector City chose to plunder resources, then the currently thriving Moth Frog Town was naturally a good target!

Of course, it was also a difficult goal to start with.

Later, other scout Knights also reported on the situation in other cities around Moth Frog Town. Overall, the population growth of Grimm’s city was currently the slowest, but it was in a virtuous cycle.

For other cities, they had, more or less, fallen into some kind of chaos because of the rapidly growing population, so…

‘Hmm?’

‘Wait!’

Grimm seemed to have thought of something, and his originally confident expression had a sudden change.

There were a total of three neighboring cities around Moth Frog Town, which included Dawn Protector City, Love Bee City, and Bataatti City.

If Grimm’s situation were to continue booming and getting wealthier while the situation in the other three cities gradually began to decline, then new populations would continue to flee to the richer Moth Frog Town. As for what would happen next… Grimm was afraid it would evolve into disadvantages he dared not even begin to imagine!

The disadvantage being all the surrounding cities that would unite to plunder the fat piece of Moth Frog Town!

With this thought, Grimm could not help but take a deep breath.

He must quickly think of a way to prevent this from happening. Moth Frog Town was still vulnerable and could not stand the hostility of more than two cities!

Although as an assessment the Brothers of the First Inherited Vein would not reduce the population in other Sorcerers’ territories as a means to increase the population in their own territory, but even plundering resources and destroying buildings would be enough to turn Grimm’s plan into visionary hope.

‘What should I do?’

‘What should I do!?’

Grimm finally realized that his plans were short-sighted.

This assessment was not a simple Sorcerer’s building assessment. If he were to lose both the support of the nobles and ‘public praise’, then it would evolve into a situation…

At night, after dinner.

After Grimm had gathered the nobles of all sizes in the city, he expressed his worries and thoughts, hoping to get some wisdom of survival among ordinary humans from these nobles.

However, as Grimm expressed his worries, the old Marquis Gumoza, smiled lightly with a cold faint glint in his eyes.

In the past eight years, Gumoza had obviously aged, and Grimm estimated that this old fellow could not hold on for more than two to three years.

Human life was indeed too short.

“Governor, we can use the excess wealth on our hands as a means of separation tactic, and hire the noble Knight army of both Love Bee City and Bataatti City to recapture both the iron ore and blood agate mines for ourselves!”

Grimm looked at Gumoza in surprise, this old fellow…

Although this would temporarily increase the wealth of the two cities and continue to suppress Moth Frog Town in terms of population, this was only temporary. When the regional wealth was uneven, the population in poor areas would eventually lose to rich areas. After all, humans were not livestock raised by Sorcerer Towers, and human beings had the right to pursue freedom!

And freedom meant a good life.

At this time, the relationship between the cities surrounding Moth Frog Town had just begun. When their own problems were to gradually break out afterwards, it would be difficult to join forces again. As Moth Frog Town grew and expanded day by day, the three cities would eventually lose their resistance. All the increased population would head toward Moth Frog Town!

The premise of everything was that Moth Frog Town had to survive its initial vulnerable period.

Grimm looked at the accountant and said, “How many free-transfer coins are there in the accountant’s office now?”

“A total of seven thousand nine hundred and fifty four gold coins, sir.”

Grimm had a different accountant now. After Grimm had found out that the former accountant had embezzled hundreds of gold coins from Moth Frog Town, he was thrown directly into a prison cell and was still locked away.

Grimm nodded and said to Gumoza: “Four thousand gold coins, I will allocate four thousand gold coins for you to do this. If it is not enough, you will find a way to complete it for me. Once it’s done, part of the income of the iron ore farming gallery will be yours. ”

The old Marquis Gumoza was delighted.

“Yes, sir.”

There were more than a dozen galleries at the iron ore mountain, half of which were related to agricultural use. Although the yield was not as high as the artisan gallery used to forge axes and armors, it was still an astonishing yield.

There was a need for some thorough planning!

Later, after another boring evening party for Grimm, the crowd dispersed, and Grimm used this time for meditation to try and replenish some of the mental strength lost in the Nightmare World.

Hoo…

At this moment, a horn sounded from Moth Frog Town’s city walls. Grimm stepped out of his room and commanded the well-dressed Muyi, “You go organize the City Protector Squad to ensure the order of the residents in this city and implement a curfew. I’ll go check what’s going on. ”

After saying so, Grimm flew toward the horn.

After a while, he watched the Knights, clamoring in fear above the city walls, attacking with lances and crossbows at three green-glowing mollusks that looked like three giant earthworms, emerging from the ground and attempting to climb the city wall. Grimm heaved a sigh of relief.

It turned out to be the wild Giant Earth Boas.

For ordinary humans, the Giant Earth Boa might be a terrible monster that could devour them. But for Sorcerers, it was only a small insignificant bug.

The assessment did not allow Sorcerers to directly intervene in the conflict between cities, but that did not mean that Sorcerers could not protect the residents in the territory from wildlife attacks. After all, the most important goal of Sorcerers was to increase the population in the territory!

With a sneer, Grimm flew over the dozens of stunned Knights on the wall.

Boom…

After a short while, Grimm flew up the wall again and said lightly, “All City Protector Knights get three catties each, and the rest are to be taken to the orphanage. The meat is of good quality.”

“Yes.”

Upon witnessing the power of a Sorcerer, the Knights gulped and responded respectfully.

The sky had begun to brighten, and Grimm flew back toward the governor’s office.
