Two years later.

Exactly as what Grimm had in mind, along with the emergence of demographic dividends, Dawn Protector City which was originally completely subdued by Moth Frog City had slowly started to resist, and it was getting more and more violent.

In a normal human Knight war, a few Knights from both sides would carry out a short assault, after that both sides would count their wins by the number of corpses left behind, and then both sides would leave respectively.

Some Knight wars with a scale of more than ten thousand people could only be formed by the alliance of Knights belonging to nobles led by a leader, it was enough to let the villagers in a small area sing praises for a few hundred years.

And because of this, the strength of the Legendary Knight could make its appearance.

After all, Knight wars were usually just friction between a few tens or hundreds of people.

In the iron mine up in the Rocky Mountain, Muyi who had matured, with great fortitude, held a greatsword with a wide handle. Frequent fighting experiences had made this Legendary Knight even stronger than before, the Qi and blood energy in his body were full of vitality as if his body was on fire. People who stood slightly closer to him could feel some type of hot-bloodedness and passion that was like a giant stove.

“Sh*t, it’s Dawn Protector City again.”

A Knight behind Muyi, riding on a war horse, looked into the distance, and found a troop of Dawn Protector City Knights of about a hundred people.

Throughout the whole month, small scale Knight wars had been happening again and again in the Jagged Mountain, almost every day there were deaths from both sides, and following the wars that were happening more frequently, the reputation of Muyi the Greatsword Slayer had spread throughout Dawn Protector City, and he had became the most wanted enemy.

In the big iron mine workshop in the mines.

Moth Frog City stationed about two hundred Knights in the mines all year round, cornering the other two hundred people in the blood agate mine, this was the best that Grimm could afford to allocate after prioritising the protection of Moth Frog City.

After all, Grimm could not keep relying on encouraging those jobless Knights in Moth Frog City to dedicate their lives for Moth Frog City, hot-bloodedness could only erupt and last for a short period of time.

The Knight behind Muyi brought out a horn.

A ‘hoot’ sounded from the horn, after a short moment a few Knights gathered, the remaining Knights were rushing over from different directions of the mine, the sophisticated iron armor on their bodies rattled loudly.

This was the economic advantage of Moth Frog City that had resulted in equipment advantages.

By comparison, the equipment of the Knights of Dawn Protector City was far behind, they only had the most basic equipment as protection, there was even a difference in the size of the war horses compared to Moth Frog City’s.

“Charge!”

Muyi lift his greatsword and shouted. With him at the front leading a few Knights that were summoned for an urgent gathering, they charged down the mountain slope roaring clamorously.

The Knights that had gathered were a bit low in numbers, but their advantage on the grounds and equipment were enough to compensate for that, in addition to the confidence that was brought by a Legendary Knight like Muyi…

Ding!

The wide-handle greatsword clashed with a war hammer, as he felt a powerful strength coursing through the war hammer and the Qi and blood energy emitted by this person, Muyi was shocked.

A Legendary Knight!

Dawn Protector City also had a Legendary Knight!

In the first round of short strikes, with ground and equipment advantage, the small team of Moth Frog Knights that Muyi was leading only had one casualty, while seven people from Dawn Protector City were thrown off their horses, four of them never to stand again, laying in a puddle of blood.

“Hehe, Muyi the Greatsword Slayer, prepare to receive the wrath of Dawn Protector City’s Storm Hammer!”

This Legendary Knight of Dawn Protector City looked like he was in his fifties, he had a stubble of white beard, his body was short but strong and muscular, Muyi knew that his strength fell short of his from the brief contact they had, but because he had the high ground and war horse advantage, he managed to fight equally.

But this time, their positions had been switched as they charged toward each other for the second time, and the other person now had the high ground.

The iron hooves of the war horses darted across the gentle mountain slope, digging chunks of dirt, mixed with the scent of crushed plants, as the Knights of Moth Frog City and Dawn Protector City clashed into each other once again.

The result this time were five people being thrown off their horses, but only three people stood up on Moth Frog City’s side, while four stood up on Dawn Protector City’s side, the advantage of the terrain was obvious.

Muyi’s arm holding the wide-handle greatsword was trembling, and the war horse under him snorted uneasily.

The Storm Hammer Legendary Knight of Dawn Protector City was clearly stronger than him, it seemed that he was a Legendary Knight that had returned to the city, or was he someone who was hired by the Dawn Protector City governor from another place using underhanded tricks?

“Damn it!”

“Sh*t, that bastard is the same as Muyi, a Legendary Knight!”

The Knights behind Muyi were shocked seeing the Storm Hammer, the deterrence and what a Legendary Knight represented to a normal Knight, spoke for itself.

“Hahahaha, Muyi the Greatsword Slayer, we will fight frequently in the future, the victors of this war will slowly tilt toward us Dawn Protector City, hahaha haha!”

With that said, he commanded the troop of Knights behind him to fall back as more Knights from the mines had gathered behind Muyi. They did not plan to engage in a third battle.

Muyi gritted his teeth, he had never felt such pressure.

Suddenly, the kind face of Grandma Vivian flashed through his mind, and the words “Are you willing to only be Moth Frog City’s Legendary Knight forever?” echoed in his head.

Muyi exhaled, ridding of the knot in his chest.

“This is a great chance to use this Storm Hammer Legendary Knight to make myself stronger!”

One year later.

“Sh*t, for last month’s rotation, Governor Grimm had only allocated an additional fifty Knights here, if it continues on like this, we can no longer protect this iron mine!”

Fire flickered in the night, as a trusted aide of Muyi complained while gobbling up roasted meat and drinking strong alcohol.

This was something foreseeable as, in this past year, not only did the harassing attacks from Dawn Protector City become more frequent, sometimes it would happen two, three times or even more in one day, and the number of Knights that appeared had slowly increased.

“If it weren’t for Muyi’s command, I don’t think I could’ve hold on till now. Can’t you see that these iron workshops have been closing down? Clearly those bastards think that the situation is looking bad here.”

A shrewd Knight who had clearly become thinner also complained.

Gulp, gulp, gulp, gulp…

A senior Knight violently chugged down the strong alcohol, evidently drunk, he chuckled, “What are you complaining about, use that energy to eat more, and mess up more of those Dawn Protector City mother*ckers tomorrow, hehehe.”

Muyi kept quiet, wielding the wide-handle greatsword in his hands delicately, cutting the meat into extremely uniform pieces, each piece only half a centimetre thick, as the fragrant grease permeated the air.

“Pass me some chilli.”

That was the only thing Muyi said that night.

In the Moth Frog City governor’s residence, Grimm smiled while examining the three Legendary Knights.

Yes, Legendary Knights!

Grimm issued a high rank hiring job through the chamber of commerce that Moth Frog City was in contact with, requesting that the chamber of commerce find suitable high rank mercenary regiments outside the Hydra Wrath Sorcerer Academy, with the considerable bounty that Grimm promised, three mercenary regiments that had a Legendary Knight with them came to apply.

These three Legendary Knights not only represented themselves, they also represented the strength of the mercenary regiments behind them, representing the few desperate Knights who licked off blood from their blades.

“Tell me about your mercenaries.”

Grimm sat on the high chair and spoke calmly.

Was this a competition?

The first Legendary Knight stood up, under those white eyebrows were a pair of keen eagle eyes, he seemed like the most experienced out of the three.

“The Blazing mercenary regiment, one Legendary Knight in service, fifty seven elite Knights, inheriting one Blazing Phoenix!”

With the mention of the Blazing Phoenix, this Legendary Knight Leader’s voice clearly became louder, the three-meter Blazing Phoenix that was hovering high up in the governor’s residence indeed made a lot of people in the small city feel shocked as they looked up, the giant bird’s body was like a flaming fire flying elegantly, holding Flame energy.

Even to a Knight, this Blazing Phoenix could be included as a strong supporting aide, its fire attack could go beyond 40 degrees.

The second Legendary Knight stood up, he was a two-metre tall person with a bloated belly, his giant body stepping on the wooden floor in the hall made the floor creak, exuding an indescribably oppressive aura.

“The Roaring Earth mercenary regiment, one Legendary Knight in service, eighty four elite Knights.”

Grimm nodded.

It was clear that this mercenary regiment was just an average mercenary regiment, there was nothing special about it, the only advantage was its numbers.

Grimm looked at the third mercenary regiment, the third Legendary Knight was a woman.

“The Will of Magnolia mercenary regiment, one Legendary Knight in service, thirty four elite Knights, one Sorcerer-Apprentice!”

Hmm?

Not only Grimm, even the two other Legendary Knights looked at this female Knight in shock, she had a Sorcerer-Apprentice?!

Grimm squinted his eyes, trying to uncover some deeper info through this female Knight’s appearance.

Even though they were all Legendary Knights, this female Knight clearly had weaker Qi and blood energy, it even seemed like it was some sort of external assistance that helped her stimulate her Qi and blood energy, something similar to the prophase of the steps of assisting a Sorcerer-Apprentice when learning the Bloodline sorcery.

Also, this female Knight’s constitution was higher than the other two Legendary Knights, but Grimm observed her soulfire and saw that she was only between twenty to thirty years old, it was evident that this could be done by some help from a magical potion.

It would appear that this was something done by that Sorcerer-Apprentice.

“Sorcerer-Apprentice?”

Grimm’s gaze shifted to the outsides of the hall, and saw an old Sorcerer-Apprentice whose soulfire was weakening and dissipating, the aura was very similar to the female Knight’s.

It seemed that this female Knight was a descendant of that old Sorcerer-Apprentice.

The Roaring Earth and Blazing mercenary regiment Legendary Knights both made a face, no one expected this unknown mercenary regiment to have…

It would appear that there was no hope for the job this time.

But this could not be helped, having a Sorcerer-Apprentice, and one that seemed to be the strongest of its kind, was not something that a Blazing Phoenix and a few Knights could imitate.

As the two were feeling dejected, Grimm smiled faintly and said, “Alright, the Blazing mercenary regiment, the Roaring Earth mercenary regiment, the Will of Magnolia mercenary regiment, all of you will be hired, for the next two years, Moth Frog City will grant you equivalent rewards as per our contract.”

What!?

They were all hired!?

Was Moth Frog City this wealthy?

The cost needed to hire such high ranking mercenary regiments was not a small amount, even if Moth Frog City had developed in the past few years, they should not be able to afford such a reward.
