A Sorcerer’s Journey

Chapter 542: Pulled into a Nightmare

Into the night.

Compared to the dark scenery of the once backward Moth Frog Town, there were many places in this town with bright lights this time. Even magic lights had begun to appear on some busy streets.

“Vivian.”

Looking after the children in the orphanage, Vivian, who covered the snoring kids with blankets, turned around and looked at the figure in the moonlight outside the door.

“Brother Grimm!?”

In the past few years, Grimm had begun to integrate into the life of ordinary people, and he was busy with various things every day.

Without covering his face, Grimm’s relatively old appearance after the failure of advancing showed visible traces of wrinkles, and below his golden silky hair were a pair of deep bottomless eyes.

“Yes.”

Step by step, Grimm entered the room, looked at the sleeping orphans, and came to Vivian.

“You have worked hard these years.”

Although only a few years had gone by, Grimm’s Moth Frog Town had developed outstandingly and had entered a virtuous circle that Grimm envisioned.

If everything went well in the future, Grimm was quite sure he would get Grandmaster Netherheart’s Grand Toxic Refinery notes as reward.

“What are you talking about, handsome? I think this is the life I want! Watching these children grow up day by day, just like children I raise myself, and feel the happiness I never had before.”

Vivian smiled and took Grimm to the orphan’s common room, the candlelight in her hand swaying gently.

“How do you have time to come here today, handsome?”

Grimm followed Vivian to the room, took a sip of the tea she had poured while sitting on a chair, and looked at her doubtful eyes as if recalling the time he first saw her at Master Peranos’ more than a hundred years ago.

She was now more than a hundred years of age, her soul fire had drained and was weak like a lingering candle in a lantern.

“Vivian, I have a solution that may allow you to be promoted to an official Sorceress within a short period of time!”

Grimm suddenly said something that made Vivian stunned, her hand was shaking while holding her cup of tea.

“Handsome, you…?”

Vivian’s voice was a little shaky.

Grimm placed the teacup gently on the table, and said extremely seriously, “I said, I have a way to make you an official Sorceress!”

The room became quiet, deadly quiet!

After a while, Vivian stared at Grimm and said in disbelief, “Handsome, do you really have a way to make me an official Sorceress? What is it? The Sorcerers World Core Fragment?”

“No. As for the method, I don’t know, but I know that as long as the great being is willing to help you, she will have a solution!”

Grimm said with gritted teeth.

“Who?”

“First Ring Celestial Sorceress! The Sorcerers World has completed its celestial sacrifice of a newly-promoted great Celestial Sorceress ten years ago, and she has changed the rules of the Nightmare World!”

Grimm spoke of an incredible character, a Celestial Sorceress!?

For Vivian, even Stigmata Sorcerers were just a legendary existence. Not to mention, she had almost choked when standing in the same hall as Grandmaster Netherheart, let alone a Celestial Sorceress.

It took half an hourglass for Grimm to tell her the laws of the Nightmare World and the story of the Nightmare Sorcerer.

Vivian looked at Grimm. The hope Grimm gave was like giving Vivian a desire for a new life. Her eyes were moist, and her voice choked, “Handsome, what should I do?”

Grimm knew that Vivian already had the desire of becoming a Nightmare Sorceress.

“Now the First Ring Nightmare Tower has not been established yet. I can’t take you there directly from the First Ring Nightmare Hole, so I can only …”

Grimm took out a vial of medicine and poured out a black pill.

“Eat it.”

“Ok.”

Vivian did not hesitate. After nodding, she took the pill with a strange fragrance and swallowed it. After just a few breaths, she felt weak and her head felt groggy.

With a thud, Vivian fell on the table. Grimm rose silently, lifted Vivian and placed her on the wooden bed in the room.

The bed represented the “gate” to enter the Nightmare World or even the Dream World.

So now…

In the Nightmare World, the Dreadlord wanted to forcibly drag a human protected by the laws of the Sorcerers World into the Nightmare World, and it needed the full power of another Dreadlord to do it. Grimm was unwilling to dissipate his own Fear Energy. By becoming a Nightmare Sorcerer-Apprentice, one would lose the ability to freely enter and exit the Nightmare World.

But if Grimm were a Nightmare Sorcerer outside the Nightmare World…

After a sudden cold breeze, Grimm had an ice skate in his hand, and suddenly struck it toward his own chest.

Immediately after, under the rejection of the Body Dissimilation Sorcery, an invisible transparent heart surrounded by black gas appeared.

Thump, thump, thump, thump…

This was the Heart of Dreams, the heart that had the ability to sneak into other people’s dreams, and had a similar ability to that of the Nightmare World Peeking King.

Slowly, Grimm put the black gas surrounding the Heart of Dreams on Vivian’s chest. The wound on his chest quickly healed under the Dissimilation Sorcery as if it were intertwined tentacles.

The moment the Heart of Dreams came into contact with Vivian, it sank into her body.

In Grimm’s gaze, Vivian’s body seemed to be twisted a little, streams of Fear Energy were wrapping around her, and twisted palms were looming on Vivian’s skin.

“Still not enough?”

Grimm thought for a while, opened his mouth, and unexpectedly spat out strands of hair that contained Nightmare Energy.

This was the hair that Grimm had eaten in the Nightmare World. He then placed the hair lingering with black gas on Vivian.

Like the Heart of Dreams, the strands of hair penetrated into Vivian’s body as soon as they touched her body.

Like having a tremendous shock, the number of ferocious bruise palm prints on Vivian’s body increased, and the strands of hair flowed and drifted into her skin. It looked horrifying.

Phew…

Grimm let out a sigh of relief, and Vivian’s hidden Nightmare Shadow curse was finally stimulated, so the next thing would be much easier.

As for its success, it all depended on Vivian’s fate.

Grimm began to gather Fear Energy. After feeling that his mental strength had dropped a little, the world around Grimm began to distort, and then it seemed to return to normal immediately after.

“Have you arrived in the Nightmare World?”

Grimm first glanced at the wooden bed next to him, then walked out of the room and looked at the crescent moon hanging high above the sky, then nodded.

It seemed that they really have arrived in the Nightmare World.

Although the First Ring Celestial Sorceress had dispersed all the laws of the Dreadlord of this illusory world, and replaced the former Dreadlord, some basic laws of the Nightmare World would never change.

After all, this was just a fragment or a branch of the Dream World.

With a squeak, Grimm returned to the room. After sensing something between the Nightmare World and the Sorcerers World within the World Aperture on the wooden bed, he gently pulled and an ugly red-haired monkey appeared.

This was how Grimm used the identity of a “Dreadlord” to pull humans cursed by the Nightmare Shadow into the Nightmare World!

“Brother Grimm, is this the Nightmare World?”

Being a little dazed, the ugly monkey shook its head and asked Grimm.

Unlike Vivian, Grimm was no longer a Nightmare Creature, so Grimm’s image in Vivian’s eyes was still a Sorcerer.

With some weird feelings, Grimm quickly took out the Lamp of Awakening. Under the Awakening Ray, Vivian returned from the red hairy monkey into her original image. By opening the gap between the dimensions, the Starfall Reconnaissance Craft appeared.

With a squeak, the upper half of the Starfall Reconnaissance Craft’s hatch opened.

“Get in, this is my vehicular tool, it will take you to the First Ring Nightmare Tower nearby within a few months’ time. But you have to remember, never leave my vehicular tool, you must wait for me to negotiate with First Ring Celestial Sorceress in person. Otherwise, a Sorcerer-Apprentice appearing next to her, I don’t need to say more about the consequences, right? ”

Vivian swallowed visibly and nodded.

With a squeak, the hatch of the Starfall Reconnaissance Craft closed and rapidly flew from the Six Rings Holy Tower of the Nightmare World toward the First Ring Nightmare Tower under the command of Grimm, leaving no trace behind.

Vivian never had to worry about the problems that Grimm had once encountered in the Nightmare World.

The former Nightmare World was a waning world suppressed by Ancient Sorcerers. But now it had started a new era, and belonged to the era of Sorcerers.

“Whether we succeed or fail, it all depends on whether First Ring Celestial Sorceress is interested in the Lamp of Awakening or not. After perfusing Fright Energy, I hope she will have some ‘stock’.”

With a sigh, after a brief distortion of the world around him, Grimm looked at the full moon covered by dark clouds in the sky, and went toward the governor’s office.
