Three months later, in the skies surrounding the Principal Void Fortress of the Sorcerer World.

“Frost Roar!”

Silver threads flew around, as Millie waved her Ice Crystal Feather Fan. She gripped onto the magical weapon tightly with her long slender arms.

A sudden whoosh was heard as large shards of ice frost flew by, freezing dozens of Golden Amonros into icicles. The sound of cracks echoed through the sky as the frozen icicles exploded into small pieces.

Exhaling, the pale-faced Millie waved a high-level Magical Stone in a circular motion around many different types of Soul Slaves that were flying towards the rear flank of the fortress while taking a peek at Grimm who was sitting atop of the Void Fortress, wielding the same type of Magical Stone as he transferred the Force of Nature to regenerate his magical powers.

One after another, the fallen Amonros formed a frontal barrier to block the incoming assault by the enemy while roaring loudly.

The fortifications provided by the Prism Fortress on the ground had been rendered ineffective after nearly three consecutive months of siege by the Amonros.

Every day was hell for the Demon-hunting Sorcerers.

It seemed as though these sorcerers would collapse from battle fatigue at any given time, but they persisted in securing their final hope, which was to defend the Principal Void Fortress.

Under the Mask of Truth, Grimm opened his tired, bloodshot eyes and groaned. “This cannot go on any longer, even the number of Soul Slaves have been nearly exhausted, the energy levels of the fortress are rapidly depleting, not to mention the Demon-Hunting Sorcerers that have been pushed to their limits.”

Millie sat beside Grimm as she was restoring her magical energy. “I wonder which trump card will be used by the fortress in the final moment.”

“It should come at a pretty high cost, we have to request for backup from the Sorcerer World. Though, our effectiveness in this particular demon-hunting expedition has dropped quite a bit.”

Grimm, who had finished regenerating his powers gently rubbed his sore eyes. He stood up to face the vast, seemingly infinite sky as the sun began to set.

Nodding her head, Millie couldn’t help but think back to the nostalgic days when she was still a sorcerer-apprentice in the Sorcerer World.

Becoming a Demon-hunting Sorcerer guaranteed exposure to high-level sorcerers, and was the fastest way to acquire sorcery resources. However, there was always the factor of uncertainty, which can pose a significant threat to weaker Demon-hunting Sorcerers.

However…

The silver lining was that the Sorcerer Essence acquired in this demon-hunting expedition allowed for pre-planned advanced experiments to be done.

“Caw, caw! Master Grimm, through my inquiry, the Logistics Department do not seem to have the Demon-Hunting Outfit for sale,” Myna said, as it flapped its wings—dragging its fat body to land on Grimm’s shoulder.

Grimm nodded his head as he sighed. Although he had foreseen this, he couldn’t help but feel disappointed at the news.

“Help! Help! Requesting immediate help! Coordinates 74845, 44441, 144!” A Soul Wave Sorcery transmitted from surrounding places not far from Grimm and Millie’s position.

Grimm’s face went cold as he used the Force of Nature to fly over to said area.

Strong Enigmatic Amonros would appear from time to time in the midst of attacking Amonro hordes. These Amonros attacked without any regard for their own lives, making them all the more terrifying.

And as time goes by, those Amonros would inevitably die out.

In the beginning, the Demon-hunting Sorcerers thought that the Enigmatic Amonros were using an ability that fully consumed their life force, however later reports told that these Amonros were instead, the legendary figures of this world who were passed down in myths since ancient times.

Consequently, here in the Principal Void Fortress, the cries for help were usually followed by news of Fallen Demon-hunting Sorcerers.

Milly sighed as she watched Grimm’s silhouette grow smaller and hastened her magical regeneration process.

Grimm glimpsed the encircled group of Demon-Hunting Sorcerers as he held up a Sorcerer’s Barrier.

What he saw was a strong, weird-looking Lava Giant with a mixture of Flame and Enigmatic Energy. The giant held the corpse of an Enigmatic Amonro in his hands as he thundered continuously through his Soul Voice, “I bear no ill intentions, wise sorcerers. I am here representing the Lava Giants to seek cooperation with you.”

Shock was painted on the sorcerers’ faces—it was a Lava Giant?

Moreover, the breath generated by this bizarre Lava Giant was too strong.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

Three elite Demon-Hunting Sorcerers from the interior of the Void Fortress flew by swiftly—creating an elemental warp in the air.

On the barriers of the three elite sorcerers, one had a Rank-2 Honor Badge marking, while the other two had a Rank-3 Honor Badge marking each. The sorcerer with the Rank-2 Honor Badge had the looks of an old witch, riding on a long broom and wearing a wide, black tunic as she grasped a Communications Crystal Ball with her wrinkly hands exuding a dark light.

The three elites looked at each other and acknowledged their inability to deal with this situation.

Perhaps the Lava Giant had felt that these three elite sorcerers had a distinct aura—his Soul Wave grew heavier gradually and started converging his life force, as he revealed his three-meter tall lava body.

The Demon-hunting Sorcerer with Rank-3 Honor Badge seemed to be in deep thought as she rode on the broomstick. Her lips were moving constantly as she chanted a Curse. At the same time, the Crystal Ball that was glowing with a dark light started flowing around in waveforms.

“Ku,ku, Lava Creature, I have already informed the Great Stigmata Sorcerer of this situation. In front of him, all lies and deception are revealed. If you have any ulterior motives for being here, this is your last chance to escape with your life.”

The witch’s eyes glimmered with cruelty—the corners of her mouth curled up into an evil grin.

“Stigmata Sorcerer? The sorcerer species huh…”

As the Lava Giant was in the middle of his sentence, someone from the encircled group of sorcerers, bearing a donning a white sorcerer’s cloak and a pointed hat interjected, ” Sorcery is just a profession practiced by humans who are learning about the rules of knowledge. We are humans.”

This lonesome Giant stopped speaking and looked at this sorcerer in shock. The surrounding Dark Sorcerers seemed lost in thought as they gazed silently at the Demon-Hunting Sorcerer.

‘Rumble…’

A colossal Voidship stationed in the skies above. Seeing it’s massive size, most of the Fallen Amonros and Soul Slaves stepped back in fear. The Lava Giant couldn’t help but lift his head to to look at the ship. His eyes were filled with hope, or was it fear? Either way he seemed to be deep in thought.

One of the Demon-Hunting Sorcerers with the Rank-3 Honor Badge canceled their request for backup firepower, acknowledging that there was a special situation down on the ground here.

The gun crew of the ship received the request and retracted the Disintegrator Cannon, but the ship remained floating in place.

Due to the strong life force of the Lava Giant, the Voidcraft had labeled him as a major potential threat.

The scene gradually quieted down. Some of the Demon-hunting Sorcerers retreated under the commands of high-level sorcerers, leaving on Dark Sorcerers on the field as a countermeasure should any emergency arise.

Under the gray-white spiral Mask of Truth, Grimm revealed his eyes. Elemental Energy formed a barrier around his body, and on his shoulder stood the red and green feathered fat Myna. He blended inconspicuously into the crowd of Demon-hunting Sorcerers. Grimm was observing this Lava Giant that was a mixture of Flame and Enigmatic Energy.

With the exception of a handful of Demon-hunting Sorcerers, most other people were ignorant on what role this Lava Giant played in this world. They thought he was just another unique wild creature only.

Even Grimm only knew about half of what is actually going on from historical intelligence reports.

Perhaps, only the Stigmata Sorcerers would be able to deduct this Lava Giant’s standing in this world from his source of Law from higher places.

After a while, a magnificent magical wave streaked across the skies above the fortress skies. The Lava Giant and many other Demon-hunting Sorcerers turned around. Their faces were lit with awe as the Tomb Averer descended from the sky.
