Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!

Five sorcerers stood back-to-back with each other fighting with the Amonros that seemed to be attacking from all directions. The restless magical energy had caused the flesh barrier to discharge fluid with a sharp odor and smoke that eventually filled the surroundings.

This passage was relatively narrow with a diameter of seventeen to eighteen meters. This was a good ambush location for Amonros to launch their attacks. The sorcerers were surrounded by those hostile creatures.

On the forehead of Grimm’s mask, the golden pupil was dilated and opened. One of the Amonros that attacked from the top turned into a shadow. However, it quickly turned into a dry corpse and fell to the ground when it flew towards Grimm.

With a swish of the magic wand in his right hand, two Fire Bats appeared in search of the enemies. In the meantime, his left hand moved like its fingers were plucking strings on a musical instrument. The shapeless space fluctuated and disappeared. One of the Amonros that just revealed itself from the flesh barrier screamed and its head disappeared.

The other sorcerers were busy defending the counter attacks with their specialties, except for the advancing sorcerer. He was chanting under the protection of the other four sorcerers. He was preparing to launch an hour-long powerful spell attack.

In sorcery, when one prepared to launch a one-time attack, it would cost them part of their energy. While a sorcerer’s apprentice would use up a quarter of their energy, a Level 1 Sorcerer like Grim would probably use one-fifth of their energy.

However, some sorcerers would use their special Sorcerer knowledge, with a longer time of preparation and chanting; they could launch an immensely powerful magic attack that exceeded their own levels.

Since the beginning of the attack, this sorcerer had used almost three minutes for preparation. The fluctuations of Magic Power had gradually become stable. Although the other sorcerers had killed about two to three hundred low-ranked Amonros, there were still many unknown Golden Amonros and Enigmatic Amonros hiding somewhere.

In the state of extreme nervousness, these few sorcerers felt that they were being surrounded completely.

After all, they were in an unfamiliar environment in the deep underground, the nest of Amonros!

“Laser-Focus Net Spell!”

One of the sorceresses’ robe as well as her necklace floated around her. That powerful magic spell was focused and formed a massive thunder net that covered the entire passage. With just a shout, the power was launched.

Zoom! Zoom! Zoom!

The thunder net filled the passage of the flesh barrier and scorching sounds could be heard. Many low-ranked Amonros in midair were then annihilated into pieces.

Beyond the thunder net, those Amonros that hid in the flesh barrier were completely unscathed.

Grimm and the other sorcerers realized that this flesh barrier was extraordinarily thick. It was about seven to eight meters, many times thicker than other locations.

There were thirty meters of thick smoke after the launch of the thunder net. Suddenly, two Enigmatic Energies appeared and with a few flashes, the thunder net dimmed and was destroyed.

“Oh blast! There was Enigmatic Energy that had turned into a shadow. We had been followed for a long time.” There were dozens of feathers like flying knives surrounding the half-eagle sorcerer. The feathers dispersed black evil spirit, and they were communicating and gossiping with each other.

The advancing sorcerer who was protected by the others was called Dark Moro.

Two thin lines of purple-black energy were constantly being released from both the hands of Dark Moro into the energy ball. A Golden Amonro was floating in the air, twisting and emitting a sizzling sound as if it was being barbecued.

According to Dark Moro, he started to research the magical transformation of Amonro when he was on the voidship. It was based on the “Occult Code of Life and Death” of the Dark Sorcerers. He had achieved the initial progress and it was very effective especially in this closed environment.

Most sorcerers had somehow learned the Dark Sorcery’s “Theory of Life and Death”, but it was only used to assist Demon-Hunters.

In short, Dark Sorcerers still mainly focused on exploring the world.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The sorcerers continued on with their attacks. An afterimage suddenly appeared at a lightning speed. “Bang”, it then landed on the half-eagle sorcerer’s mask and left a layer of green energy.

Huh?

The other sorcerers were shocked by the sudden attack. They turned to look at the tentacle that had retracted into the flesh barrier. All that was left was a sharp truncated tail which pulled back in quickly.

‘What was that?’

Grimm was the only one who had been attacked by this creature before, but it had failed. Hence, Grimm was not really bothered.

Puff!

Although the half-eagle sorcerer’s mask was not destroyed by the tentacle attack, it was covered by a layer of green liquid and together they fell to the ground.

The moment the half-eagle sorcerer fell into the flesh barrier, the initially soft and elastic barrier turned into a water wall and he was submerged.

The flesh barrier started trembling the moment the half-eagle sorcerer was submerged. It was madly converging at the submerging point.

“Damn!”

One of the sorceresses screamed and was ready to cast a great spell on the flesh barrier where the half-eagle sorcerer submerged. However, the other sorceress stopped her. She was worried that her spell might injure the sorcerer in the flesh barrier.

Under the Mask of Truth, Grimm with his twinkling eyes seemed to recall something. Through the control of space, he collected a few drops of the green liquid residuals. He cast a few Fire Bat spells on the flesh barrier where the half-eagle sorcerer submerged without mercy.

Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!

The attack caused a few wounds on the flesh barrier. The tails of some lower-ranked Amonros that were trying to go into the deeper parts of the flesh barrier were visible. Yet, everything had vanished including the half-eagle sorcerer.

“You!”

The sorceress who stopped the other sorceress from casting the spell was staring at Grimm. She seemed to be waiting for Grimm to give an explanation. It was a serious offense for Demon-Hunters to turn against each other during an expedition.

Grimm faintly explained, “I’m familiar with the Enigmatic Energy fluctuations. When he was falling, he had already been sealed. I was trying to save him, but obviously I was too late.”

Grimm was telling the truth, but the other three clearly did not believe him.

Grimm was once being sealed by the Enigmatic Energy. That was why Grimm knew very well that the insides of Enigmatic Amonros were actually connected to a series of mysterious Enigmatic rules. Once a victim was being submerged into the interior parts, he would surely be connected to that rule.

Both the sorceresses gave Grimm a cold look. Although they did not manage to ascertain the motive behind Grimm’s killing of the Demon-Hunter, they were still suspicious. Dark Sorcerers were cautious when it came to every single detail, including this strange battle. On the contrary, sorcerers would never have done these things.

Right at this moment, Dark Moro who had been preparing the spell for a long time said, “The cultivation is finally done, the spell of Amonro’s Disease!”

Boom!

The body of an Amonro that was wrapped in purple-black energy exploded. Nothing out of the ordinary except for blood mist scattered everywhere.

However, Grimm and the other two sorceresses became serious.

The Sorcerer World had been running a long-term study on diseases and plagues. They found out that diseases and plagues were caused by ultra-micro parasites. Although the ultra-micro parasites were of low level in the hierarchy of life, it was highly life-threatening. However, it brought no harm to high-level lifeforms, so the sorcerers and Dark Sorcerers had never bothered to include these ultra-micro parasites into the “Theory of Life and Death”.

After all, there was really not much potential in this.

However, the Dark Sorcerer had a different opinion. Apart from breaking out diseases and plagues, the ultra-micro parasites were easily molded and had speedy transformation. They were highly effective in the research of Life and Death during the Demon-Hunters’ Wars. It could be applied quickly in real battles.

For instance, Dark Moro transformed an ultra-micro parasite to be used against Amonros in less than twenty days. It had formed a targeted disease.

Of course, the transformation was only at the initial stage. Hence, it was only effective within a sealed environment. Due to the nature of the level of lifeforms, it would only have a long term effect on the low-ranked Amonros.

After the execution of the spell, Dark Moro began to defend himself immediately against the attacking Amonros.

The others stopped their killings.

A quarter of an hourglass later.

After the first Golden Amonro died without reason, the rest of the Amonros that were positioned on top of the flesh barrier gradually fell to the ground like raindrops.

There were even more Amonros that died instantly in the flesh barrier and no trace could be found.

However, they had not detected the presence of any Enigmatic Amonros. Apparently, Dark Magic did not have much effect on the Enigmatic Amonros.

“Well… there is no special sign of rapid reproduction cycle. Sure enough, there is still a big gap compared to the formal Dark Magic. This can only be considered as a disease, not a plague.” Grimm concluded his thoughts while observing the fall of the Amonros.

They went around on a search, but could not locate any Enigmatic Amonros, which meant that there was no way that they could find the half-eagle sorcerer without the Enigmatic Energy. They took it as a fact that they had lost him and did not show any signs of despair. They continued to fly deeper into the underground, alongside the endless and disgusting flesh barrier.

Grimm calculated based on his own experience that it would take at least two years of digestion before they could pull out the sorcerer from the barrier.

After all, the energy of a formal sorcerer was quite strong. That guy was just unfortunate…
