Layers of bubbles were rising upwards. The lake was murky. Grimm’s legs touched the bottom of the lake.

Wandering around the bottom of the lake, some of the rocks had been meticulously rearranged by Grimm. He went inside a hidden crevice. After a few corners, beneath the layers of rocks, a huge lightning mirror appeared in front.

The stones appeared to be piled up on top of the mirror. The rock formations probably happened on a later date.

Grimm calmed his mind and sat on top of the lightning mirror. He was all too familiar with the ‘stability’ of a mysterious lightning power of this kind.

Although the lightning mirror was tens of thousands of times more powerful than Grimm’s two severed branches, they shared the same element.

Six months ago, Grimm accidentally found out that there was a subtle time-space ripple within the lightning mirror.

As if…

Could it be that the boundaries between the material world and the void were divided by this lightning mirror? Or was it materialized by it?

This discovery and its hypotheses that followed led Grimm into a new direction of research. He started to expand his talents in the field of relative boundary within the framework of time and space, attempting to open the relative boundary of time and space at the void’s weak point.

The void had always been an endless desert of the dangers, desolateness, and opportunities of the material world. One would need to be at least a Level 4 creature to even enter it. Else, in a short time, the reaction between the energy of the void and the material matters would consume its life.

Why would there be a lightning mirror here?

Undoubtedly, in ancient times, there must have been a strong lifeform that had the power to manipulate the principle of lightning in this world. But what is the power of the principle of lightning exactly?

If he could break the code of the lightning mirror, then perhaps Grimm could understand its power one step further before soul-imbuing the severed two branches and the lightning mirror with principles of the rune and understanding the origins of the principles of lightning.

…

Ten years later.

In the stone cave laboratory, a jar was filled with golden flames. On the laboratory table, the Vaiduryarion Golden Amonro’s left eye was poked with a sensor device. Half of its body is suffering from necrosis, apparently caused by some of Grimm’s failed experiments.

“Looks like the specimen is reaching the end of its life.”

Grimm mumbled to himself for some time before pulling down the metallic zip on the Amonro’s abdomen. He paused for a moment and gently shook his head. He turned around to look at the activated flesh cultivation jar of the chimera.

After cultivation by batches, Grimm gathered the activated flesh from the different jars and proceeded to carefully cultivate nutritional fluids.

This step of the experiment was to cause the original life signals in the supercells to precipitate and mutate. This would erase any memories of supercells’ hosts that originally came from different lifeforms and make new memories from the symbiosis. This would reduce any impediments during the creation of a chimera or perfecting a magical array to raise zombies.

This process would require a huge amount of nutritional fluid, refined from a huge amount of normal flesh and blood.

The huge amount refers to a number that could only be provided from a large-scale war.

If it were the sorcerer world, the cost would be astronomical. But in the foreign world, when the expedition was closing to an end, they were so cheap, almost free.

Now, the jar of activated flesh was three meters in height and had a diameter of two meters. Within the jar, pieces of jello-like soft tissues were slivering and gathering, as if to form a new body. At the same time, there was also a portion of failed activated flesh which were consumed. The remains sunk to the bottom of the jar.

“It should be ready in another ten years.”

Grimm studied the progress of the chimera. He then proceeded to a modest-looking laboratory table made from stone. On the surface of the table was a magical array to reanimate the dead, specifically drawn for Grimm’s cultivation of activated flesh.

With the previous foundational knowledge from his systematic method of learning the magical array of reviving the dead at his belt, Grimm was now faster and had better mastery of drawing the magical array compared to the first time. He had moved on from the old ways of tracing and memorizing from the original array.

There were voices of scribbling. Grimm was levitating in mid-air, continuously inscribing the magical runes on a giant stone tablet.

The knowledge of sorcery had always been grounded in research. There should be no rush in it.

With each new knowledge, one realizes how small he is in the world. Even a sorcerer’s tower was made by pieces of stones and clays.

At the center of the laboratory, the void fire of the Greedy Flame Giant was still burning brightly. But something strange had happened to the void flame.

The flame wasn’t as dark as before. Glimmering shades of black and gold-colored flames were intertwined and perfectly united, like black and gold strings that were knit together.

The Heart of the Lava was still shining brilliantly in a golden hue after being forged within the void fire of the Greedy Flame Giant. However, the inside of the heart was a cloud of darkness as black as ink.

In these few years, Grimm had gained some understanding regarding the changes between the Heart of the Lava and the Greedy Flame Giant.

The Greedy Flame Giant originated from an elemental lifeform from a distant, unknown world. These elementals appeared to have an extremely strong talent when it comes to souls. They were adept in time-space and spiritual communications, as well as collecting negative emotions.

The Heart of the Lava meanwhile had astonishing manipulative and nullification powers against the nature-fire element. It could also be used to process magmas.

The Greedy Flame Giant, after experiencing several evolutions would surely have a dramatic increase in power. Its battle strength would have a huge boost.

However, the Heart of the Lava would relatively be a weak point for the Greedy Flame Giant. If the Heart of the Lava was damaged, the Greedy Flame Giant would lose all the evolution powers from the magma.

Grimm had already prepared something for this…

…

Two years later.

While conducting an experiment on chimera, Grimm was suddenly startled. He took out his crystal ball. The crystal ball slowly floated upward, broadcasting a new battle order.

“D*mn, it had to be now! One more year and the Greedy Flame Giant would’ve completed its evolution. To launch a full-scale attack on the Shadows at this moment…damn…”

The frustrated Grimm stomped his leg and called out, “Little Myna.”

Flap… flap…

The Myna, who was picking on Water Crystal Turtle flapped its wings and flew inside. It landed on Grimm’s shoulder, speaking in a flattering manner, “My dearest Master Grimm, what matters do you have to summon your most loyal servant?”

The Myna strutted its tail. Its plump body got even rounder. Its life-like mimicry of the human expression was very animated.

Grimm pointed at the black Heart of the Lava in the middle of the laboratory. “Battle Command had given the orders to launch an assault on the Shadows. They are gathering all the demon hunters within the shadow region to launch the third wave full-scale attack. Intel suggests that they have started to gather a considerable amount of Amonro forces. We need to strike them preemptively. Like what we’ve said before, you will be taking care of the Heart of the Lava. Try to complete the Greedy Flame Giant’s evolution before the war.”

There were three great regions and twelve middle regions in the Shadow World. The small and micro shadow regions were not counted in the statistics of the demon hunters.

In more than ten years, the sorcerer world’s demon hunter expedition had conquered nine of the middle regions such as the one where Grimm was on.

The scattered and disorganized Amonros did not form any threat to the demon hunters. The strong Demon Hunter Legions, under the guide of fallen Amonro “Demon Hunter Fang”, were conquering the Shadow World at an amazing speed. The wise sorcerers had also formed an authority for the fallen Amonros.

The authority of the fallen Amonros was known as the Shadow Empire.

Soon, when the demon hunters had completely dominated the world, the world would no longer be known as the Amonro’s world, but the Shadow World.

Although the Shadow Empire’s influences were no match compared to the power structures of the world’s Amonros, not even one-hundredth of their forces, it still made a huge impact on the resisting Amonros.

The ruling class of the Enigmatic Amonros only realized at this moment how terrifying of an enemy they were.

These enemies not only have crushing powers in their strengths. Their intelligence was ten thousand times more cunning than the slyest of the Amonros.

“Caw! Caw! Rest assured and leave the Heart of the Lava to me! It will be preserved perfectly! You would die first before I do.” Little Myna proudly turned around. Suddenly, it sensed the stare coming from under Grim’s Mask of Truth, which was overflowing with gloom.

Um…

“Oh, Master Grimm, since you’re busy, I have something to do. I’ll excuse myself out now.” Little Myna flapped its wings and left.
