Boom!

Sweeping across the shadows of the clouds, bolts of lightning streaked through the sky. The flash of lights shone on the vast land of Shadow World.

Grimm saw it, and so did all the Demon-Hunters. In the distance, there were countless pairs of eyes owned by the Shadow World. The Amonro was just one of these shadow creatures.

Hatred filled their hearts. Yet it was not pure, as it was mixed with fear. They could only hide in the darkness of the shadows, looking at the glittering Prism Fortress.

Splash!

The pouring rain hit the ground and soaked into the desert, wetting the dry and barren world.

The Fallen Amonros looked up and continued to wash their bodies with their tails. Surprised and excited, they were screaming words in Amonro language, which was similar to holy water.

Some Soul Slaves didn’t like the rain. They curled up and shook their bodies with great effort, trying to shake off water from their feathers and hair. Unfortunately, they were wet again with each new falling raindrop.

The Sorcerer Barriers protected Dark Sorcerers. Raindrops fell it as if they had fallen on eggshells. They either spattered or ran down the outer layer of the Barriers. No sane sorcerer would let such ghastly raindrops touch their robes.

Meanwhile, the leader of Bright Sorcerers shouted, “Analyze the composition of this rainwater. Find out what effect it has on us!”

Two Bright Demon-Hunters quickly collected two bottles of rain samples and flew into the dry space inside the Prism Fortress. After only a short time, one of the wizards shouted, “There was no problem with the rain’s composition. It will not harm living creatures of Sorcerer World. It can be directly consumed.”

That was an incredibly fast analysis! No one could tell how many times they could analyze this faster except for Grimm.

Boom!

Terrified by the sound of thunder, every sorcerer started to look for shelter around the Prism Fortress. Grimm lowered himself and touched the ground. Water puddles began to emerge on the land surface.

“Young master, in my opinion, we should head back to the Fortress while we still have time. Such an environment could cause…”

Myna stood on Grimm’s shoulder and whispered.

“No.”

Grimm shook his head and ignited a ball of Eternal Flame on his hands. The fire relentlessly radiated light and heat even in the pouring rain. Several sorcerers nearby pondered upon his actions, wondering why Grimm would spend his Magic Power in such weather. What good could he bring by channeling a Fire Spell?

Under The Mask of Truth, Grimm’s eyes traveled far across the distance.

While kneeling, Grimm bent over and picked up a group of inconspicuous Flesh Plants.

These Flesh Plants were like the Sorcerer World’s sea corals. They were colorful and had the size of a baby. They continuously squirmed, seemingly desperate to absorb the surrounding rain.

Grimm pinched it in his hand, and it began to struggle. Grimm did not stop. Under the light of the Eternal Flame, he held his breath and stared at the Flesh Plants.

After a short moment, Grimm sighed and threw the Flesh Plants back into the rain.

“Young master, what’s wrong?”

Myna stood on Grimm’s shoulder and looked up at the sky outside the Magical Array. Numerous blurry shadows could be seen outside as they flashed away within seconds. Myna could not wait to direct the Fallen Amonros and Soul Slaves to kill them all.

“If such rainy weather can last for more than a decade in this world, I am afraid the outcome of our Demon-Hunting Conquest mission would end up with us escaping to the Sorcerer World .”

Grimm paused and then continued, “With the Amonro’s reproduction ability and sufficient food supply, I am afraid that the number of Amonro we will face in ten years will be enough to make this Demon-Hunter’s expedition an arduous one. This rainy weather had undoubtedly nourished the plants of this world, making them grow at an alarming rate.”

Grimm guessed that this world had made its move in using the massive amount of Amonros to inflict despair among the Demon-Hunters.

However, Grimm was confident that the Demon-Hunters were still powerful enough to wreak havoc upon the world.

“Oh? Ten years? Impossible! The Shadow World rules do not extend for that long. Usually, such actions could only last a few months before it breaks the world’s limit. This would cause a catastrophe in that world.”

Catastrophe?

Grimm stared at Myna. This ancient bird had survived along the side of great sorcerers in ancient times. It must surely have more experience than Grimm on this matter.

Grimm began to ask Myna questions about the rules of the world, but the jack-of-all-trades Myna was not interested in systematic sorcerer knowledge. It only knew the general terms without knowing why or how it was that way.

Boom! Another bolt of lightning sliced through the sky.

…

Half a month later.

With a big shout, Grimm and a Dark Sorcerer celebrated their killing blow to a very strong Golden Amonro with the help of a magical array and a prismatic ray.

It should be one of the second-class organisms.

Hiss…

The long snake glided back into the sleeve of the lady sorcerer. Its cold eyes sent chills down everyone’s spine. As the effect of the curse dissipated, the lady sorcerer lifted her head and looked at the burly figure of Grimm in the rain. A pair of intense eyes lurked under the Pale Mask.

“These Amonros were not the same as the Amonros that attacked us a few days ago .”

The lady sorcerer turned to look at other battle groups across the land as she spoke. The most exciting event was the hexagram array conjured by twelve Bright Sorcerers in the sky fighting the two mysterious Enigmatic Amonros.

These two mysterious Amonros were incredibly strong. If the Demon-Hunters were not in the Magical Array, aided by the Prism Fortress, they might be at a disadvantage.

Pew! Pew! Pew! Pew!

A few palm-sized black shadows spurred towards Grimm. The lady sorcerer turned her head to respond with spells. Yet those little black shadows screamed as a shadow hedgehog pierced them.

Grimm looked up and calmly said, “If the rain continues for another day, the Prism Fortress base will be immersed completely in rainwater. The Prism Fortress loses its strategic value if it needs to frequently replace its Fire Crystal.”

Silently sighing, Grimm leaped and flew toward a Soul Slave which was a winged serpent.

With his feet planted on the back of this Soul Slave monster, Grimm held a magic wand in his hand. Under The Mask of Truth, his eyes gazed at an open-winged giant bird more than ten meters tall. It was an Enigmatic Amonro.

This Amonro had cast a Shadow Seal on a Bright Demon-Hunter and swallowed it. It was now in a battle with Grimm and a Bald Dark Sorcerer, a mysterious seal talent.

“First layer of wild instinct, activate!”

Grimm snorted, followed by the drastic changes of dense black scales on his body. The bald Dark Sorcerer, too, murmured, and a layer of lightning force began to surround his body, looming to form a thunder armor.

Whoosh!

Without a word, Grimm charged towards the Enigmatic Amonro. His sudden movement had the bald Dark Sorcerer’s robe flail about wildly.

At the same time, the Enigmatic Amonro sent out a force of Enigmatic Energy in response to Grimm’s action. Grimm did not resist or evade but flew directly into the Enigmatic Energy. He shrank immediately and was swallowed by the Enigmatic Amonro.

The bald Dark Sorcerer, who was about to assault, was stunned by what he saw. “Idiot!”

Seconds later, the Enigmatic Amonro exploded into pieces with a loud bang. Grimm appeared with an unconscious Bright Sorcerer in his arms. He moved towards the bald Dark Sorcerer while removing a green necklace on the unconscious Bright Sorcerer.

“You managed to break an Enigmatic Seal ?” The bald Dark Sorcerer shouted at Grimm in surprise while battling a gigantic bird.

Grimm handed over the stunned Bright Sorcerer to the winged snake Soul Slave and whispered, “Yes.”

A dense prismatic ray shot from the sky. The giant bird screamed in pain as the light column pierced through it. Moments later, it broke into pieces.

The Prism Fortress’ defensive magical array powered down as its magical array started its recharging process.

In the Bright Sorcerer camp, a sorcerer with excellent skills in medical sorcery flew over and yelled, “We need a Thorn Apple and a Gaddaha Potion II for this sorcerer. It takes three days for them to get from Shadow Empire’s City and send it back.”

Grimm and the bald Dark Sorcerer glanced at each other. Grimm decided to make a trip for these ingredients. As he was about to take off, a bright ball of light approached them with thousands of small light spheres behind it.

Whoosh!

A voidship moved towards the direction of the Prism Fortress. Almost every Demon-Hunter was stunned by what they saw. Grimm, too, stopped his movement.

Could this be… the Hearkening Whisperer?
