Soul Emperor Martial God

Chapter 48: Chapter 47: The Murong Family’s Secret Plot

The third and fourth main veins had been refined.

Xiao Yi immediately activated the Ice Phoenix Sword Soul and Fire Control Beast Soul within his body, absorbing the Heaven and Earth Spiritual Energy.

The surging waves of Spiritual Energy rushed forth, rapidly filling the newly refined two main veins.

After nearly half an hour, the third and fourth main veins were filled with Spiritual Energy, signifying that he had completely stabilized his Cultivation and reached the Postnatal Fourth Layer.

In the practice of the Postnatal Realm, the most difficult part was to refine the main veins. The impurities clogged the main veins severely, requiring an immense amount of True Qi to impact and cleanse them.

According to the normal daily practice speed of a Martial Artist, it would take at least several years or even longer to fully cleanse a main vein.

Of course, Xiao Yi, with his Purple Martial Soul, could cleanse a main vein much faster than other Martial Artists even without the Demon Blood Flame Heart Fruit.

For a Deacon like those in the Xiao Family, it was rare to see a breakthrough in Cultivation even once in ten years.

But for Xiao Yi, not to mention ten years to refine a main vein, he could probably break through to the Innate Realm in just a few years—that was the terrifying aspect of the Purple Martial Soul.

However, with the Demon Blood Flame Heart Fruit, it had saved him a lot of trouble.

Just as he was preparing to swallow the second Demon Blood Flame Heart Fruit, a knocking sound ’knock knock’ came from outside the door.

The knocking sound appeared only once and then there was no more.

Xiao Yi stood up to open the door and found it was the Fourth and Sixth Elders.

The two elders were considerate, guessing that Xiao Yi might be in cultivation, so they knocked only once.

During the Martial Artist’s cultivation process, disturbances were taboo; if one was in the process of a breakthrough, severe interference could lead to backlash and serious injury.

The two elders also feared this situation, so they knocked just once. If Xiao Yi was idle, he would naturally come to open the door. If there was no response, it would mean Xiao Yi was at a critical juncture, and they would immediately leave.

”Two elders, what brings you here?” Xiao Yi asked indifferently.

”Uh... Hehe.” The Sixth Elder chuckled dryly and said, ”If I’m not mistaken, you must be consuming the Demon Blood Flame Heart Fruit to break through your Cultivation, right?”

”Indeed.” Xiao Yi nodded slightly and asked indifferently, ”What? Are there other juniors in the family whose Dantian has been destroyed and need my rescue?”

”No, that’s not it,” the Sixth Elder hurriedly waved his hand.

The Fourth Elder said with a smile, ”You lad, you must be holding a grudge against us. Don’t be so petty, we’ve come to deliver a gift.”

”A gift?” Xiao Yi was slightly puzzled.

The two elders took out two jade bottles from their robes and handed them to Xiao Yi.

The Fourth Elder smiled and said, ”There are two bottles of Innate Pills, five in each; and two bottles of Postnatal Pills, fifteen in each. Don’t think it’s too little, lad—we’re in the Meteorite Mountain Range after all, and we need to keep some for our own daily cultivation.”

Xiao Yi took in a sharp breath of air. The two elders were being too generous.

The combined value of these four bottles of Elixirs was at least over ten thousand taels.

”What do you mean by this?” Xiao Yi took the jade bottles and asked.

The Fourth Elder explained, ”Have you forgotten the effects of the Demon Blood Flame Heart Fruit? It can refine the main veins and burn away impurities. This is the time to take the Elixirs without any worries. As your elders, naturally, we should help you as much as we can.”

The Sixth Elder quipped, ”The lad, the Fourth Elder is afraid you’ll hold a grudge against us and make it hard for him when you become the Family Head.”

The Fourth Elder glared at him and said indignantly, ”Sixth Elder, no one would think you’re mute if you didn’t speak.”

...

After delivering the Elixirs, the Fourth and Sixth Elders did not stay long to avoid disturbing Xiao Yi’s cultivation.

Xiao Yi returned to his room to continue his practice.

He had originally planned to take the second Demon Blood Flame Heart Fruit and consume Elixirs at the same time.

Normally taking Elixirs would leave impurities in the body and could not be consumed continuously. But with the effect of the Demon Blood Flame Heart Fruit, burning away impurities, this concern was naturally eliminated.

Most importantly, it didn’t affect the effect of refining main veins; it simply burned away the impurities in the main veins while simultaneously burning away the impurities of Elixirs.

However, he originally didn’t have many Elixirs, so there was no need to consume Elixirs when taking the first Demon Blood Flame Heart Fruit.

The first Demon Blood Flame Heart Fruit was merely to test the effect on refining the main veins.

With that thought, he took out the Elixirs he had from his Qiankun Bag.

Including those ’given’ by the Fifth Elder, those taken from the slain three Murong Family Deacons, and those acquired from Murong Qianjun’s Qiankun Bag five days ago, there were a total of three Innate Pills and forty Postnatal Pills.

Adding those from the two elders now, the total was thirteen Innate Pills and seventy Postnatal Pills.

Xiao Yi did not hesitate to swallow the second Demon Blood Flame Heart Fruit.

The bizarre power appeared again in his body, burning away the impurities in the main veins.

At the same time, Xiao Yi consumed large quantities of Elixirs.

The impurities from the Elixirs were consumed by the bizarre power, turning the Elixirs into pure power.

Xiao Yi recognized this feeling; it was exactly like when he had taken the Nine Revolutions Body Refining Pill before, pure power; only now the grade and quantity of the Elixirs were much higher.

This massive and pure energy, Xiao Yi used to assault and cleanse another main meridian.

By the time the entire Demon Blood Flame Heart Fruit had been swallowed and all the Elixir Elixir digested, several hours had passed.

As night fell, Xiao Yi finally stopped cultivating, feeling the surging True Qi within his body, and for a moment he was filled with boundless pride and ambition.

”I’ve actually refined four more main meridians, pushing my Cultivation to the Postnatal Eighth Layer. If I encounter Murong Qianjun again, I could cripple him with a single slap.”

”Even if I were to come across an Innate Martial Artist, I fear I could put up a good fight,” Xiao Yi’s face brimmed with battle spirit.

The second Demon Blood Flame Heart Fruit, similarly, refined two more main meridians for him.

And those thirteen Innate Pills, as well as the seventy Postnatal Pills, had also thoroughly assaulted and cleansed two main meridians for him.

Altogether that made four, plus the two refined from the first Demon Blood Flame Heart Fruit, he had refined a total of six main meridians today, elevating his Cultivation to the Postnatal Eighth Layer.

From the Postnatal Second Layer this morning to the Postnatal Eighth Layer by evening, jumping six layers in a single day – such a speed, if known to others, would shock them speechless.

Of course, this was thanks to the two Demon Blood Flame Heart Fruits.

No wonder Murong Qianjun had initially braved the risks to guard in the dense forest and hired the Iron Blade Demon Hunting Team at a high price, stopping at nothing just to get those three Demon Blood Flame Heart Fruits.

The effect of the Demon Blood Flame Heart Fruits on Postnatal Martial Artists was simply too terrifying.

Unfortunately for him, after all his scheming, they ended up in Xiao Yi’s hands.

The Elixir given by the two Elders also provided great help to Xiao Yi.

”No wonder they say a Martial Artist’s cultivation is an extremely money-consuming occupation, tsk tsk, the Elixir I took today must amount to twenty thousand taels,” Xiao Yi said with a smile, shaking his head.

Xiao Yi glanced at the night sky outside the window, and blowing a breath of cool Xiao Family’s Mine-specific Xiao Se breeze, he sat down cross-legged once more to cultivate, stabilizing the Cultivation that had risen too quickly today.

.....

In that same night, in the same breeze within the Meteorite Mountain Range. However, tens of miles away in the Murong Family’s Mine, the night seemed so dire, like still water, and the breeze so piercingly cold.

In the Murong Family’s Mine, Council Hall.

Darkness enveloped, yet the clan members were not asleep. Instead, two of Murong Family’s Elders and several Deacons were earnestly discussing something.

”How severe are Qianjun’s injuries now, are they serious?” The speaker was another one of the two Elders in charge of the mine, named Murong Huai.

This man held a higher status than Murong Xie in the Murong Family; he was notoriously ruthless, full of schemes, and his thoughts were chillingly cold.

Murong Xie said, ”His injuries are somewhat severe but not life-threatening. After a good period of rest, he should recover.”

”That’s good,” nodded Murong Huai, then turned his gaze to the people in the Council Hall.

”Calling all of you here deep into the night, you must know what the matter is about,” Murong Huai always wore an ice-cold face, the sinister light in his eyes sending shivers down one’s spine.

”Elder, please calm your anger,” a Deacon hastily said. ”We’ve done our best, but the people from the Xiao Family are truly difficult to deal with.”

Murong Huai stared coldly at the Deacon, ”If the Xiao Family were easy to deal with, would we need to discuss this tonight?”

Upon hearing the icy voice, the Deacon startled and a look of fear spread across his face.

On the side, Murong Xie spoke, ”It’s not the Deacons’ fault, the people from the Xiao Family really are troublesome, and their luck is just too good.”

While speaking, Murong Xie heaved a sigh.

”Ten years ago, the Xiao Family finally lost Xiao Chenfeng, leaving them headless, at their weakest. But unexpectedly, that old man Xiao Lihuo turned the tide with his authority and stabilised all those who harboured designs on the Xiao Family.”

”Now that old man is aged, lacking vigor. We aimed to take the Family Head position and the Xiao Family for ourselves through the Fifth Elder and his son, yet Xiao Yi emerged out of nowhere, ruining all our plans.”

”These past days, we’ve even exploited the fame of the Family Head’s daughter, attempting to take the Xiao Family’s Mine, only to be foiled by Xiao Yi.”

”Sigh, for ten years, with Xiao Chenfeng gone, his son turns out to be an even more dazzling supreme genius. What should we do now?”

Murong Xie let out several sighs.

Murong Huai’s expression grew colder, ”Xiao Yi, Xiao Yi, that’s the name I’ve heard the most recently. Is it him who injured Qianjun?”

”Indeed, and he also snatched away the Demon Blood Flame Heart Fruit,” Murong Xie said.

”Hmph,” Murong Huai snorted coldly, ”Such a genius can’t be allowed to grow.”

Murong Xie shook his head, ”But he is in the Xiao Family’s Mine, protected by the Xiao Family’s Elders...”

The other Deacons also showed reluctant expressions.

”Quiet,” Murong Huai snapped, ”The Family Head has already sent word to me yesterday that we must take the Xiao Family’s Mine as soon as possible. The Great Elder too has already expressed his wrath, the people of the Xiao Family must be dealt with soon.”

”The Great Elder?” Murong Xie and the Deacons became taut upon hearing this.

All of a sudden, Murong Huai retrieved an object from his bosom, and as it appeared, the entire Council Hall was enveloped by a chill, causing everyone to shudder.

”This...this is the Great Elder’s...” Murong Xie stared at the object surrounded by swirling black mist, his pupils noticeably constricting.

Murong Huai said coldly, ”I don’t have time to waste words with you. Time is of the essence, and I already have a plan. Just do as I say.”

”Yes,” the crowd responded in unison.
