Chapter 16: Chapter 15: Battle in the Mortal Realm Level 6

Xiao Yi’s bet with Xiao Ruohan was whether Xiao Yi could seize a spot to cultivate in the Purple Cloud Cave by himself.

Therefore, he now had to enter the arena to fight, naturally against those who had already secured their spots, the disciples of the Mortal Realm Sixth Layer.

When Xiao Yi shouted, ”Who dares to fight,” those who considered themselves exceptionally talented and superior, the disciples of the Mortal Realm Sixth Layer showed unpleasant expressions.

”He dares to challenge us, overestimating himself.”

”Although I disdain to fight him, I don’t mind shutting him up to see if he dares to be so arrogant again.”

Suddenly, a figure leaped onto the Martial Arts Arena.

It was Xiao Xingyang.

”Xiao Yi, you are not qualified enough to fight the top disciples. Let me handle you,” Xiao Xingyang said, his eyes showing scorn.

”You?” Xiao Yi frowned.

At that moment, his keen eyes spotted the Ninth Elder standing near the Fifth Elder and others not far away.

”So that’s how it is, the Fifth Elder is pretty sinister,” Xiao Yi squinted his eyes, instantly understanding.

To enter the Purple Cloud Cave for cultivation, in addition to the Mortal Realm Sixth Layer disciples, there were two spots that could be acquired directly without fighting.

They were Xiao Ruohan’s spot and his own.

Xiao Ruohan, being the top person in the family, naturally no one dared compete with him.

But as for his own...

If he were to lose today and lose the bet, then the spot would be relinquished.

Then, Xiao Xingyang, as the top contestant in the Mortal Realm Fifth Layer fights, ranking just below the Mortal Realm Sixth Layer disciples, would get that spot.

No wonder half a month ago, the Fifth Elder and others had given him such a choice: to either renounce the position of Young Master or the cultivation spot.

Whichever option he chose would lead him into a trap set by the Fifth Elder long ago.

If he renounced the position of Young Master, it would be easier for the Fifth Elder to proceed with his next calculations.

If he gave up the cultivation spot, the Fifth Elder could thus win over the Ninth Elder, adding to the previously swayed Seventh and Eighth Elders; he would soon have the support of over half of the elders.

Then, he could just as easily carry out his subsequent schemes.

”This old tortoise, calculating against me time and again, how hateful,” Xiao Yi cursed inwardly.

However, he was not afraid. With the Third Elder backing him, he had no other concerns.

The Third Elder was the Acting Patriarch officially appointed before the disappearance of the previous Family Head, rightfully recognized and supported by most of the clan members.

In terms of power within the family, the Third Elder alone was worth several elders.

Seeing Xiao Yi silent, Xiao Xingyang thought he was scared and immediately laughed, ”What’s the matter, little loser, are you scared? Don’t worry, I won’t take your life, just a little sparring.”

In reality, what he thought was, I won’t take your life, but I’ll cripple you utterly.

Xiao Yi shrugged his shoulders and said, ”Since you’ve decided to stick your neck out, don’t blame me.”

The referee, seeing this, immediately announced, ”Good, since Xiao Xingyang has issued a challenge and Xiao Yi has accepted, let the martial contest begin. But remember, in a clan contest, stop at the slightest touch and do not injure.”

”Yes,” Xiao Xingyang replied respectfully, but in his mind, he had already concluded that accidents could happen in a fight.

”Little loser, die,” Xiao Xingyang instantly summoned his Wildfire Bull Martial Soul, his strength suddenly magnified, and he threw a punch at Xiao Yi.

”Heh, with that punch, that little loser is done for.”

”Just at the Mortal Realm First Layer, Xiao Xingyang doesn’t even need to use his Martial Soul, Xiao Yi is bound to lose.”

The Fifth Elder and Xiao Ruohan seemed to have already envisioned the scene of Xiao Yi being struck and spitting blood.

However, with a ’slap’ sound.

Under the incredulous eyes of all the clansmen...

Xiao Yi did not dodge or evade, simply raising his hand lightly, he directly caught Xiao Xingyang’s fist.

”He blocked Xiao Xingyang’s punch head-on? How is that possible!”

”Xiao Xingyang is at the Mortal Realm Fifth Layer, and Xiao Yi is merely at the Mortal Realm First Layer, the gap between them should be enormous.”

Indeed, within the Mortal Realm, the gap between each layer is huge, with strength differences amounting to several hundred pounds or more.

Two or three at Mortal Realm Fourth Layer when combined might not necessarily be able to defeat one at Mortal Realm Fifth Layer.

”That’s not right,” some sharp-eyed clansmen suddenly exclaimed, ”Xiao Yi is not at Mortal Realm First Layer, seeing how he just took Xiao Xingyang’s punch, the strength he displayed was definitely at the level of Mortal Realm Fifth Layer.”

”What? Xiao Yi reached Mortal Realm Fifth Layer?” Most of the clansmen and the younger generation looked incredulous.

On the Martial Arts Arena, the referee looked at Xiao Yi and nodded, ”Good lad, indeed at Mortal Realm Fifth Layer.”

”What! Mortal Realm Fifth Layer?” Fifth Elder and Xiao Ruohan were shocked and turned pale.

”Mortal Realm Fifth Layer, Yii’er is actually at the Mortal Realm Fifth Layer’s cultivation. Good, very good.” Third Elder was ecstatic, he did not even notice that in his excitement, he had crushed a stone in the corner into powder.

On the Martial Arts Arena, hearing the surprised reactions of the clansmen, Xiao Xingyang’s originally proud face turned cold, ”Mortal Realm Fifth Layer, so what, hmph, among those at Mortal Realm Fifth Layer, I am invincible. As long as this trash does not reach Mortal Realm Sixth Layer, he is no match for me, the training slot is mine.”

Thinking this, he increased his strength and threw another punch at Xiao Yi.

”Hmph.” Xiao Yi snorted coldly, in his eyes, Xiao Xingyang’s attack was full of flaws.

With a slight toss of his head, he dodged Xiao Xingyang’s punch, then quickly counter-locked and threw Xiao Xingyang over.

Being at the same Mortal Realm Fifth Layer, Xiao Yi had a hundred ways to defeat Xiao Xingyang.

And to deal with Xiao Xingyang, he didn’t even need to go all out.

With a ’thump’, Xiao Xingyang heavily fell to the ground.

”Tiger Form.” Xiao Yi’s eyes turned cold, his hands transformed into claws, attacking powerfully, one claw grabbed Xiao Xingyang’s throat, the other claw latched onto Xiao Xingyang’s forehead.

Both claws in Tiger Devour stance, with a wish, he could slice through Xiao Xingyang’s throat or forehead in an instant.

At the same time, his foot heavily stamped on Xiao Xingyang’s chest, leaving Xiao Xingyang unable to move.

If Xiao Xingyang dared to resist, he would merge both his claws and crush Xiao Xingyang’s head.

Xingyi Five Extremes was not merely a rigid attack, they could vary endlessly. Xiao Yi could entirely adopt the most suitable attack based on different combat situations to defeat an opponent with one move.

”You better not move, otherwise, I won’t mind killing you right now,” Xiao Yi said coldly.

Feeling the killing intent in Xiao Yi’s eyes, along with the pain on his throat, Xiao Xingyang dared not move.

Below the arena, this had already caused a huge stir among the clan members.

”So formidable, Xiao Yi actually defeated his opponent in one move.”

”The timing of his attack was so precise, just when Xiao Xingyang was launching his punch but could not retract, unable to defend.”

”And his attack, instantly capturing Xiao Xingyang’s vitals, leaving Xiao Xingyang no chance to resist.”

The clan members were all admiring, but some could hardly believe their eyes, wondering when Xiao Yi had become so powerful.

On the arena, Xiao Yi coldly looked at Xiao Xingyang and said, ”Remember this, those who humiliate others will be humiliated themselves, watch your mouth in the future.”

Having said this, Xiao Yi kicked fiercely, sending Xiao Xingyang off the Martial Arts Arena.

Xiao Xingyang’s body fell heavily off the platform, landing face-first.

Xiao Yi stood proudly on the Martial Arts Arena, then looked again at those at Mortal Realm Sixth Layer and coldly said, ”Now, am I qualified to fight you? Who’s next for a challenge?”

His challenging words instantly changed the expressions of these clansmen.

They weren’t fools. Just from the recent fight, Xiao Yi’s ability to instantly defeat Xiao Xingyang showed that Xiao Yi possessed the combat strength of Mortal Realm Sixth Layer.

They did not wish to be the first to face him, nor did they want to be defeated by Xiao Yi on the arena. As the family’s most outstanding members, they couldn’t afford to lose face.

At that moment, not far away, Fifth Elder and Xiao Ruohan exchanged glances and subtly nodded at each other.

”Little loser, even if you’ve reached Mortal Realm Fifth Layer, you are still far from Mortal Realm Sixth Layer,” Xiao Ruohan thought coldly.

At the same time, he subtly signaled a younger disciple with his eyes.

The disciple nodded, then stepped forward and jumped onto the Martial Arts Arena.

”Xiao Yi, I’ll meet you for a match.”

The person who came was Xiao Zimu, at Mortal Realm Sixth Layer, ranked among the top five in strength among the younger generation in the family.

Xiao Zimu drew out his Fire Whirlwind Stick, swirled it skillfully, and pointing at Xiao Yi, said, ”Xiao Yi, meeting me is your bad luck, within three strikes, you will be defeated.”

In fact, Xiao Ruohan had already pressured him earlier, telling him to deal with Xiao Yi.

Xiao Yi remained unruffled and said indifferently, ”You don’t have the strength to defeat me.”

”Arrogant.” Xiao Zimu swung his stick at Xiao Yi.
