Soul Emperor Martial God

Chapter 30: Chapter 29: The 9 Major Pulse Channels

The Qi Pill had been formed, but Xiao Yi had not stopped cultivating.

”Next, it’s time to refine the main meridians,” Xiao Yi muttered to himself, beginning his cultivation once again.

One of the reasons Mortal Realm Warriors need to solidify a Qi Pill when breaking through to the Postnatal Realm is that the Qi Pill is more robust and powerful than the Dantian.

At the same time, the Qi Pill is formed according to the attributes of one’s Martial Soul, enabling it to better synergize with the Martial Soul to unleash greater combat power.

The second reason is to refine the main meridians.

A human body has countless meridians, and among these innumerable, large and small meridians, there are nine that connect to the Qi Pill that are most important, known as the main meridians.

Regrettably, these nine main meridians are obstructed from birth, making them unusable for Martial Artists.

The practice of Postnatal Realm Martial Artists is to re-refine these nine main meridians, making them unobstructed and available for their use.

Refining each main meridian provides a huge boost to the Martial Artist’s strength, and each corresponds to one layer of cultivation in the Postnatal Realm.

When all nine main meridians have been fully refined, it signifies the Nine-layered Cultivation of the Postnatal Ninth Layer, which is extremely powerful.

To refine the main meridians, one must swiftly mobilize the True Qi within their body and strike the obstructed main meridians with great force.

Due to the high level of obstruction in the main meridians, all Spiritual Energy and True Qi find it difficult to pass through. Therefore, the required speed and force are far beyond what the Dantian can provide, only achievable by the Qi Pill.

This is why Mortal Realm Warriors must first solidify a Qi Pill when they break through to the Postnatal Realm.

This process is also known as Solidifying Pill and Refining Meridian.

After a brief preparation, Xiao Yi immediately began refining the first main meridian.

With the assistance of the Ice Phoenix Sword Soul, Heaven and Earth Spiritual Energy surged into his body.

Part of the Spiritual Energy was used to envelop the main meridian, nourishing it to prevent damage during the impact.

The rest of the Spiritual Energy was used for the impact itself.

The Qi Pill mobilized Spiritual Energy with a speed and force more than five times greater than the Dantian.

With the Ice and Fire Qi, the force was more than ten times stronger.

Xiao Yi could distinctly feel that the Heaven and Earth Spiritual Energy, once converted to True Qi, was mobilizing at a terrifying speed.

Under his control, this True Qi rushed like a torrential beast towards the parched main meridian.

Beneath the flood, dryness turned to moisture, and impurities were swept away.

After an unknown amount of time, when all the impurities had been completely dispersed, the once-obstructed main meridian became unblocked and resilient.

Xiao Yi slightly opened his eyes and found his body covered in a pile of sticky filth.

This sticky and foul-smelling filth was nauseating.

Xiao Yi frowned slightly, but did not pay it much mind.

He knew these were the impurities that had clogged the main meridians, which, once the meridians were refined and cleared, were expelled through the pores of his body.

”The first main meridian is refined, and now I am a Postnatal First Layer Martial Artist,” Xiao Yi said to himself, feeling satisfied with his achievement.

Only by stepping into the Postnatal Realm does one truly enter the threshold of Martial Arts cultivation.

The Postnatal Realm already signified quite impressive combat power. It meant his ability to protect himself in this world had increased yet again.

”Ha!” Eager to test his strength, Xiao Yi threw a punch with full force.

That fully powered punch produced a sky-breaking sound, and a solid wooden chair in front of him instantly turned to dust.

”How strong,” Xiao Yi gasped in admiration.

This was merely the power unleashed in the air. If it truly hit an enemy, its force would undoubtedly be even stronger.

Xiao Yi sat down with his legs crossed and continued cultivating. Having just broken through the Postnatal First Layer, he needed to stabilize his cultivation.

Now, as Heaven and Earth Spiritual Energy entered his belly and turned into True Qi, it was no longer stored in the Dantian but in the main meridians.

For Mortal Realm Warriors, True Qi is stored in the Dantian, and when mobilized, it is dispersed through countless meridians before reaching the limbs of the Martial Artist.

For Postnatal Martial Artists, True Qi is stored in the main meridians and can be mobilized as readily as moving a limb.

If True Qi were compared to water, then the Dantian would be a water pump, and the main meridians would be an unobstructed water pipe.

Clearly, with the water pipe, the water ejected would have greater explosive power and speed.

This is why Postnatal Martial Artists are far stronger than Mortal Realm Warriors.

Half an hour later, Xiao Yi, who had stabilized his Cultivation, stood up, ending his training session.

The first main meridian was easily refined due to the newly formed Qi Pill. However, the remaining eight main meridians would be more difficult to refine one by one, requiring vastly more Spiritual Energy and time.

Undoubtedly, advancing in Cultivation within the Postnatal Realm would be much more difficult than in the Mortal Realm.

Those with dull aptitude might spend years or even longer without being able to refine a single main meridian.

Xiao Yi was not in a hurry. The practice of Martial Arts must proceed in an orderly fashion without haste.

Xiao Yi remembered that in his previous life, a Martial Arts predecessor had said, ”The human body is a treasure waiting to be discovered. This treasure is infinite and cannot be completely unearthed. If someone could unearth it completely, then they would not be human but a god.”

The practice of Martial Arts in this world is a complete system in itself.

Mortal Realm Warriors focus on Body Refinement, Postnatal Realm Martial Artists refine their meridians, and even higher realms beyond that all serve to make the body stronger and obtain immense power.

Those powerful individuals who could split mountains and rivers with a flick of the hand, those who could fly through the skies and even, according to legends, roam the Void, were the Martial Arts Supremes.

”This world is getting more and more interesting,” Xiao Yi said, his mouth curving into a smile full of anticipation and confidence.

Now, if he faced Xiao Ruokuang again, even without using the Rising Dragon or any of the Xingyi Five Extremes techniques, he could easily crush Xiao Ruokuang.

At the same level of Postnatal First Layer, Xiao Yi’s Ice and Fire Qi Pill allowed his main meridians to unleash greater explosive power.

Even with a simple ordinary attack, he was unmatched at the Postnatal First Layer and could even fight across levels.

Of course, this was also because of the existence of his Twin Martial Souls that Xiao Yi could condense such a powerful Ice and Fire Qi Pill.

Pushing open the door, Xiao Yi looked at the warm sunlight and silently speculated how long he had been cultivating. By his estimation, it should’ve been two days since the beginning of the Qi Pill Solidification.

At that moment, the voice of Yiyi came from a distance.

”Young Master, you have finally left seclusion.”

Seeing Yiyi’s anxious expression, Xiao Yi couldn’t help but ask, ”What’s wrong, has something happened?”

Yiyi answered, ”The Third Elder is looking for you.”

”Oh? Is there something wrong?”

Yiyi shook her head and said, ”The Third Elder did not say, but it should be about the Murong Family. Two days ago, people from the Murong Family came looking for you, but you were in seclusion, so the people from the Xiao Family made a fuss before leaving.”

”They came looking for me and even made a fuss?” Xiao Yi’s eyebrows furrowed.

”I’m not clear on the details,” Yiyi replied.

”I’ll go ask the Third Elder for clarification,” said Xiao Yi.

”Eh, Young Master, why do you smell bad?” Yiyi suddenly wrinkled her nose and covered it.

Xiao Yi noticed the sticky filth on his body and smiled, saying, ”What’s the matter, do you despise me for being dirty?”

Yiyi hastily said, ”No, I just thought that Young Master might be uncomfortable. I’ll prepare some hot water for you to clean up right away.”

”Okay,” Xiao Yi nodded.

As Yiyi turned to prepare the water, Xiao Yi could clearly hear her muttering to herself, ”I never thought the Young Master would get so dirty after not bathing for two days. It seems I need to take better care of the Young Master...”

Xiao Yi was immediately covered in sweat.

...

In the last two days, a rumor had been circulating in Purple Cloud City. The Young Master of Xiao Family, Xiao Yi, out of anger and humiliation for being rejected in marriage by Lady Jiao’er of the Murong Family, had stooped to despicable means and defiled Lady Jiao’er.

As soon as the rumor surfaced, it caused an uproar throughout the city.

And the person in question, Xiao Yi, surprisingly did not come out to offer any explanation. Similarly, the other party involved, Murong Jiao’er, did not deny it either.

Especially after the Murong Family made a commotion at the Xiao Family, the rumor was almost confirmed as truth.

Inside the Third Elder’s residence, Xiao Yi learned of this from the Third Elder and was taken aback.

”What do you think of this?” the Great Elder asked.

To Xiao Yi’s surprise, both the Great Elder and the Second Elder were also present. Normally, these two elders were busy people, seldom seen together.

”What do you mean, ’what do I think’?” Xiao Yi asked back.

The Great Elder’s expression was calm as he said, ”Do you know who led the people to the Xiao Family to cause trouble two days ago? It was the Eldest Young Master of the Murong Family, the biological brother of Murong Jiao’er, Murong Qianjun, who personally came to settle the score with you.”

The Great Elder’s expression suddenly turned solemn, ”Murong Qianjun said he has only one condition — to hand you over to the Murong Family to deal with. If we do not comply, if you dare to step outside the Xiao Family, he will kill you.”

”Heh,” Xiao Yi laughed nonchalantly, ”Many have wanted to kill me, but no one has ever succeeded.”
