Soul Emperor Martial God

Chapter 24: Chapter 23: Xiao Ruokuang

Fire Cloud Python, was an extremely powerful demon beast, massive in size. Like the Fire Wolf, Wildfire Bull, and other demon beasts, it could easily swallow them whole in one bite.

And as a Martial Soul, it was ranked Yellow Rank, supremely powerful.

The twisting snake body almost occupied one-third of the Martial Arts Arena; its tail slapped loudly, carrying the might of flames, smashing the ground into large pits.

”Such strength!” the clan members watching from below were shocked, ”Just the slapping of its tail, even without launching an attack, its power is already comparable to a full-strength blow from a Mortal Realm Eighth Layer Warrior.”

”Xiao Yi’s moves are bizarre, his punches like a fierce tiger, but the gap with the Fire Cloud Python is too great. A casual bite from the Fire Cloud Python could split Xiao Yi in two.”

The battle had just begun, but the clan members had already determined that Xiao Yi was bound to lose.

In their eyes, that ferociously powerful flame tiger probably wouldn’t last a moment in front of the Fire Cloud Python.

A tiger roar sounded.

The flame tiger charged towards the Fire Cloud Python first, the disproportionate sizes of the two looked like the flame tiger was courting death.

”Hmph, overestimating your abilities.” Xiao Ruohan sneered, controlling the Fire Cloud Python to open its gaping maw.

Xiao Yi, facing the hideous gaping mouth, showed no signs of retreat, continuing to charge forward.

”Seeking death.” Xiao Ruohan’s eyes revealed a thick intent to kill, feeling that in the next second, he could see Xiao Yi buried within the snake’s belly.

But was that really the case?

When the Fire Cloud Python was about to devour the flame tiger, the flame tiger’s speed suddenly increased, easily dodging the snake’s mouth, and then in a swift turn, it bit down on the huge neck of the Fire Cloud Python.

The sharp teeth of the flame tiger sank deep into the snake’s body, and then the tiger slid down along the snake’s body.

The tiger’s teeth were actually Xiao Yi’s hands.

With a hiss, like a blade cutting through thin paper, the massive body of the Fire Cloud Python was sliced open from top to bottom.

With a loud bang, the Fire Cloud Python, formed from condensed True Qi, dissipated in an instant.

”How is this possible?” Xiao Ruohan widened his eyes, ”The Fire Cloud Python is a Yellow Rank Martial Soul, formed by my Mortal Realm Ninth Layer True Qi, how could it dissipate so easily.”

The clan members watching below gasped in shock.

”How impressive, Xiao Yi only used one strike to disperse the Fire Cloud Python Martial Soul!”

On the Martial Arts Arena, facing Xiao Ruohan’s disbelief, Xiao Yi sneered, ”Nothing is impossible, Xiao Ruohan, it’s time to settle our scores.”

As he spoke, Xiao Yi’s expression changed, becoming cold and filled with murderous intent.

Whoosh, Xiao Yi disappeared from his spot, like a cheetah as swift as the wind.

Xiao Ruohan’s pupils constricted, completely unable to keep up with Xiao Yi’s speed.

Bang, by the time he reacted, he already felt pain in his back, struck down to the ground by Xiao Yi’s punch.

Xiao Yi pressed his advantage, grabbing Xiao Ruohan and pinning him to the ground.

Another punch went straight towards Xiao Ruohan’s face.

Xiao Ruohan was directly beaten until blood overflowed from his face, his mind dazed.

”This punch, is on behalf of the Xiao Yi who has already died,” Xiao Yi thought inwardly.

Another punch, this time targeting Xiao Ruohan’s abdomen.

”Pfft,” Xiao Ruohan immediately began spewing mouthfuls of fresh blood.

”This punch, is for hiring assassin Yang Fu to kill me and causing Yiyi to get hurt,” Xiao Yi thought fiercely, using his full strength with this punch.

Another punch heading towards Xiao Ruohan’s chest.

”This punch, is to repay you for plotting against me multiple times.”

”This punch, should have been aimed at your father, but now I’m counting it all on your head.”

”This punch, is simply because I find you irritating.”

”This punch, I have no reason for, but it’s too thrilling to stop.”

”This punch...”

Xiao Yi was pummeling Xiao Ruohan like a torrential storm.

Xiao Ruohan was actually strong, but in Xiao Yi’s hands, he didn’t even have a chance to fight back.

As a fellow Mortal Realm Ninth Layer, using Xingyi Five Extremes, Xiao Yi could absolutely crush any warrior of the same level, and even fighting across levels was a breeze.

Even though Xiao Ruohan possessed a Yellow Rank Martial Soul, it could not bridge the gap with Xingyi Five Extremes.

Those who had never directly faced Xiao Yi would never know just how formidable Xingyi Five Extremes could be.

Now, Xiao Yi had combined Xingyi Five Extremes with Martial Soul Power, crushing Xiao Ruohan instantly, leaving him no chance to retaliate.

”Pfft, pfft, pfft...”

Every punch from Xiao Yi brought another mouthful of fresh blood from Xiao Ruohan.

Xiao Ruohan was battered to confusion, aside from the painful wails and continuous spitting of blood, only a faint breath remained.

Once the first among the Xiao family’s younger generation, his current state could only be described as miserable.

But, Xiao Yi showed no mercy.

Xiao Ruohan, this kind of villain, it pleased him to kill him.

As a fellow Xiao Family member, yet colluding with a woman from the Murong Family to scheme in secret, forming illicit relations and putting clan members in mortal peril, his actions were utterly vicious.

Furthermore, he frequently plotted and schemed, disregarding familial bonds, only desiring to harm others, showcasing utter shamelessness and baseness.

Vicious, shameless, lowly are all passé, but since he had crossed Xiao Yi, he could only swallow the bitter consequences.

Xiao Yi was well aware that Xiao Ruohan was like a venomous snake lurking in the dark, ready to strike and take lives at any moment.

”Stop it, you little trash.”

At that moment, from the elder’s seat, an angry shout rang out. The Fifth Elder, seeing his own son in such a miserable state, was ready to intervene.

”Fifth Elder, just sit down quietly,” the Third Elder leaped up and stopped the Fifth Elder who was ready to act.

The Second Elder then said in a deep voice, ”Everyone sit down. The martial arts competition isn’t over yet, and it’s not time for us to intervene. With me watching, no accidents will occur.”

As soon as the words of the Second Elder fell, on the martial arts stage, Xiao Ruohan suddenly moved his hands and conjured the Fire Cloud Python Martial Soul.

The body of a Mortal Realm Ninth Layer Warrior, refined by immense Spiritual Energy, was extremely robust and naturally not so fragile.

Although Xiao Ruohan had indeed been without the ability to counterattack just now and had also suffered severe injuries, it was not yet fatal.

However, the devious him had always been waiting for an opportunity to counterattack Xiao Yi.

And on the elder’s seat, the sudden shout from the Fifth Elder briefly distracted Xiao Yi, giving him the opening he needed.

”Die, you little trash,” Xiao Ruohan sneered viciously.

The appearance of the Fire Cloud Python was too sudden; he believed that Xiao Yi would definitely not be able to react in time.

By now, the Fire Cloud Python had already opened its huge mouth, only a few meters away from Xiao Yi, and in the next second, it could swallow Xiao Yi whole.

”Xiao Yi, die. Being devoured by my Fire Cloud Python, you will be burned by flames inside the snake’s belly and finally turn into a pile of white ash. Die a gruesome death, hahaha,” Xiao Ruohan seemed to already see the moment of his victory.

”Hmph,” Xiao Yi snorted coldly, ”Truly a devious father and son.”

Facing the attack of the Fire Cloud Python, Xiao Yi was unafraid, quickly stretching out his arm in a tiger claw gesture and grabbed the snake’s mouth.

With the power of the Tiger Form enhancing him, Xiao Yi planned to scatter the Fire Cloud Python Martial Soul once again.

However, when he saw the cold gaze of the Fire Cloud Python, his expression suddenly turned dazed.

”Not good, that’s the Fire Cloud Python’s piercing gaze, be careful, Yii’er.”

The Third Elder shouted loudly, full of concern.

The clan members below also noticed the anomaly, saying, ”Is that the innate gift of the Fire Cloud Python Martial Soul? The bone-chilling gaze of the snake eyes can freeze the stared person in place, unable to move.”

A Martial Soul endowed warriors with infinite abilities. Like the Wildfire Bull, it endowed the warrior with fire control and strength; the Fire Wolf endowed the Martial Soul with fire control and speed.

This Fire Cloud Python was even more formidable; besides fire control ability, its most powerful feature were its eyes—inhumanly cold, capable of making the enemy tremble and fall into endless panic under its stare, feeling as if they were in an icehouse, totally immobilized.

In competitions of the same realm, a warrior under the gaze of this python would be completely powerless to resist.

”Fire Cloud Python, go, swallow that little trash,” Xiao Ruohan laughed wildly.

On the elder’s seat, the Second Elder’s gaze sharpened, ”It’s time to intervene.”

However, just as he was about to act, he suddenly stopped and stared dumbfounded.

On the martial arts arena, Xiao Yi had instantaneously recovered his composure and, with full force, crushed the Fire Cloud Python in his hand.

”Hmph, such despicable tricks are only used by petty people like you,” Xiao Yi coldly shouted, immediately launching another fierce and stormy attack on Xiao Ruohan.

The gaze of the Fire Cloud Python, frankly, was merely a tactic to incite fear and psychological collapse in the enemy.

Such methods were insignificant before Xiao Yi.

No frost as chilling and ferocious, no fear as hair-raising, could prevail over a heart as solid as rock.

Such coldness, such fear were nothing but trifles to Xiao Yi, who had once dominated the world of assassins as a legend.

On the elder’s seat, the Second Elder couldn’t help but praise, ”Good lad, possessing such steadfast mental strength, with his currently demonstrated cultivation talent, he will inevitably become a powerful martial artist famous far and wide.”

On the martial arts stage, Xiao Yi’s intent to kill grew stronger, still fiercely beating.

He indeed had the strength to take Xiao Ruohan’s life, needing only one punch to the head to ensure certain death.

But he was more aware that there were referees on stage and the nine elders were observing from the elder’s seat.

With the speed and strength of the Innate Elders, they could definitely save Xiao Ruohan with ease if he were to deliver a fatal punch.

Therefore, he couldn’t deliver the death blow, and he could only continue to attack areas like the chest and abdomen.

Of course, although Xiao Ruohan wouldn’t die, his injuries would become increasingly severe—first severe damage to the bones, then destruction to the energy channels.

If this continued, Xiao Ruohan would be left either dead or crippled.

Against such a malicious person as Xiao Ruohan, Xiao Yi naturally showed no mercy.

Realizing Xiao Yi’s intentions, the Fifth Elder, no fool, immediately said, ”Second Elder, the martial arts competition should end now, shouldn’t it? If Xiao Yi continues to beat him like this, it will cause irreversible damage to Ruohan.”

The Second Elder nodded, preparing to declare the end of the martial arts competition.

Xiao Yi’s gaze sharpened—was it ending already? It couldn’t be helped, but he would make every punch count.

Xiao Yi planned to throw another punch, aimed at the Dantian, to at least ensure Xiao Ruohan would not be able to leave his bed for a year and a half, to prevent this devious person from scheming against him again.

Just at that moment, a fiery red figure swiftly leaped onto the martial arts stage, moving extremely fast.

The figure caught Xiao Yi’s punch and rescued Xiao Ruohan.

”Boom.” Then, taking advantage of Xiao Yi’s momentary unresponsiveness, the figure sent Xiao Yi flying with a punch.

”Ah.” Blood spilled from Xiao Yi’s mouth.

”So strong.” Xiao Yi steadied himself and coldly stared at the newcomer.

The clan members were also shocked. When they clearly saw the fiery red figure, their expressions changed.

”It’s Xiao Ruokuang, Xiao Ruohan’s elder brother, the son of the Fifth Elder.”

”I heard that Xiao Ruokuang’s talent surpasses Xiao Ruohan’s. Even being so young, he already joined the Mystic Fire Sect. How come he suddenly returned to the Xiao Family?”

On the elder’s seat, the Fifth Elder sneered quietly, thinking, ”Ruokuang, I’ve finally waited for your return. Hmph, little trash, planning to rise spectacularly? Today, I’ll let you know that you’re nothing but an ant in my hands, to be crushed at any moment.”
