Ning An's Wild Wish System

[No, we’re a vulnerable group, do you men have any shame? Always bullying us.]

[This sister here has forgiven him and isn’t pursuing his lewd behavior, yet he still runs to court to sue her. Is he even human, or not?]

[Leaving the facts aside, didn’t Li Yang do anything wrong at all? Who can guarantee that he didn’t have any wicked thoughts when he went into the water!]

[Exactly, you men are all hypocrites!]

Zhang Xiaodan’s bought internet trolls started to sow chaos, trying to control the narrative in the livestream.

They continuously fed these naive followers wrong ideas, seeking an overwhelming victory in public opinion.

However, they never expected that after Zhang Xiaodan’s trial, it would be their turn.

The heated debate online had no bearing on the courtroom proceedings.

Zhang Xiaodan’s lawyer took the stage first, in a sharp suit, gold-rimmed glasses, slicked-back hair, and carrying a briefcase, an unmistakable image of a corporate elite.

Shortly after, Li Yang’s lawyer entered.

Average-looking, bowl-cut hair, wearing an inexpensive suit, holding a thick stack of documents, looking more ordinary than any ordinary person.

The contrast in their attire immediately caught the attention of the roommates in the livestream.

After all, ordinary people rarely encounter the legal profession in their daily lives.

Their impression of lawyers largely comes from TV dramas, and just based on appearance, Zhang Xiaodan’s lawyer undeniably seemed more convincing.

While the netizens focused on these details, Ning An had his eyes on the courtroom table.

Just one glance gave him a headache.

All the judges at the courtroom table were female.

It’s not to say female judges are inadequate, but in such critical moments, an all-female panel could potentially affect the trial’s outcome.

After all, the famous Chen Qingquan once said:

”Whatever verdict you want, I’ll deliver it, the judicial interpretation is in my hands, and I ensure the judgment aligns with the law.”

Before Ning An could think further, the trial began.

The judge nodded at Li Yang, indicating him to read his complaint first.

After the complaint was read, the judge then asked Zhang Xiaodan to read her answer.

After Zhang Xiaodan finished reading the defense her lawyer prepared for her, she suddenly burst into tears, disregarding the prior agreement with her lawyer to silently sit down, and began to accuse:

”He obviously signed a settlement, why is he still suing me?”

”His lawsuit is entirely illegal!”

Her words caused not only Zhang Xiaodan’s lawyer to turn pale but also made the female judge at the bench give her a fleeting glare and internally curse:

Utterly stupid!

But in front of so many eyes, she could only follow the procedure and ask, ”Plaintiff, is this true?”

”Yes, I did sign a settlement.”

Li Yang nodded cheerfully.

Buzz!

The moment Li Yang nodded, the livestream chat exploded.

The trolls, especially those supporting the naive sister, began attacking frantically.

[No matter the truth of this matter, he’s signed a settlement yet still sues this sister! Isn’t that illegal?]

[So disgusting! A man who goes back on his word can’t be any good! I suggest the country allow us to own guns, so when scummy men like this appear, we can just shoot them.]

[Exactly, only we, born with maternal instincts naive sisters, can turn guns into tools for world peace, unlike these filthy men who make the world restless!]

[Just because we sisters questioned him, this pathetic man breaks down and sues someone! How can someone like that be counted on to build a nation?]

Li Yang couldn’t see the live comments, but even if he could, he would only chuckle dismissively.

He paused a bit, cleared his throat, and declared loudly, ”But the settlement I owe had conditions.”

Then he looked at Zhang Xiaodan with piercing eyes, ”I wonder if the defendant still remembers the conditions I proposed when I signed that settlement?”

”If you’ve forgotten, I can remind you now.”

Zhang Xiaodan’s lawyer looked grave, about to speak when Li Yang continued, interrupting him, speaking with righteous indignation:

”My first condition was for her to record an apology video, apologizing to me on major online platforms, with the video explaining the entire incident clearly, clearing my name!”

”But what happened? Her so-called apology was just posting an ambiguous video on some side account, not only failing to clarify the entire matter but twisting the facts, daring to slander me!”

Li Yang paused briefly and then continued his strong argument: ”My second condition was an apology in public, whether online or offline! She didn’t comply.”

”My final condition was the deletion of all false videos she posted, and all the bloggers who reposted these videos that damaged my reputation had to apologize to me by name. She didn’t fulfill this either!”

Presenting the original settlement, Li Yang sneered twice, ”Under these conditions, does this settlement still have legal standing?”

The judge’s gaze skipped past that foolish girl and fell on Zhang Xiaodan’s lawyer.

”Defense attorney, do you have a rebuttal?”

”Yes!”

Wang Yi pushed up his glasses and quickly stood up, fearing if he didn’t start defending, he would practically hand Zhang Xiaodan over without saying a word.

”The plaintiff stated earlier that my client falsely accused him of being a pervert.”

”Based on the surveillance video from that day, indeed there’s no substantial evidence proving the plaintiff acted lewdly, but my client is a woman, clearly a vulnerable group compared to men.”
