Ning An's Wild Wish System

”What do you mean calm down? It’s clearly because the vice dean of their college is her relative. Under the coercion and enticement of that influential lady, Li Yang was forced to sign the letter of understanding. Sigh.”

”My friend is quite a character. With September almost over, she’s not preparing for graduate school, not preparing for civil service, not even for an internship. I wonder what kind of backing her family has that lets her be so carefree.”

Amidst the noisy gossip of those around her, Yang Xiaodan’s mind buzzed, unable to process a single word. One thing occupied her mind:

She had actually been sued?

”Uncle, is there a mistake? He signed a letter of understanding for me, so why is he suing me? That’s illegal!”

The court staff maintained a calm tone in face of the situation: ”We are unaware of this. The materials and application submitted by the plaintiff fully comply with the court’s regulations, with nothing beyond the allowed range.”

”Besides, due to the significant public opinion and high social attention caused by your case, the court has decided to open a special channel for you. The trial will be scheduled earlier, so please be mentally prepared.”

Finished with their part, the court staff urged her to look at the lawsuit. After she signed and sealed it, they left.

In this situation, the distracted Zhang Xiaodan couldn’t focus on her classes, left her books unattended, and dashed out of the classroom in a daze.

The other students, keen to gossip and share, eagerly captured videos and posted them across major platforms or on their social media circles.

#The little frog, saved from drowning yet falsely accusing the benefactor of harassment, finally sued!#

As expected, these videos quickly became widespread.

The professor on the podium, experienced and knowledgeable, merely smiled and sipped tea amid the chaos in the classroom.

Even as the court officers left, he continued teaching methodically, seemingly oblivious to the commotion in the classroom.

...

Over at Lu Taiyi’s side.

The police naturally couldn’t interfere and had to hand it over to the relevant department.

As for what would become of Lu Taiyi and how those two young men would find scapegoats, or how the Yang family would be passively implicated in the future, these were no longer Lin Yanke and her group’s concerns.

Lin Baiwei cared even less about these matters.

At this moment, she sat in the back seat, watching her older cousin drive silently, her mind slightly anxious, her expression tense.

She wanted to say something but seeing Lin Yanke’s aloof expression, seemingly unapproachable, she didn’t know how to speak up.

In about the time it takes for two incense sticks to burn, they arrived home.

”Sis, I won’t stay here tonight, I’ve got something to do. I’ll head off first.”

Before getting out of the car, Lin Baiwei hesitated a bit.

”Where to? Come with me!”

”Oh~”

The little girl pursed her lips but didn’t dare to retort, reluctantly following along.

Honestly, who wouldn’t be afraid when facing an authoritative elder sister?

By her own nature, very few could intimidate her.

Even with her family patriarch, it wasn’t fear but rather a sort of financial hold he had over her, which softened her words a bit.

Yet, for this older cousin, she was genuinely afraid...

In the bedroom, it was frighteningly quiet. Lin Yanke sat on the bed, while Lin Baiwei stood obediently, hands folded, fingers interlaced, looking every bit like a good kid.

”Um, sis...”

Lin Baiwei looked at her toes, unable to speak for a long time. After much restraint, she finally gathered the courage: ”Do you have anything to say?”

Lin Yanke maintained a dignified posture, showing no change of expression; she calmly said, ”Shouldn’t you be telling me something about today’s events?”

”Sis, I... I was wrong,” Lin Baiwei squeaked timidly.

”You’ve misunderstood my intention.”

Lin Yanke shook her head: ”I’m not here to impose old-world concepts or pressure you with conventional views. I want to know, deep down in your heart, was this matter right or wrong?”

Walt?

Lin Baiwei’s first reaction was a little baffled, followed by confusion.

Is this some new tactic?

She didn’t get it!

She discreetly lifted her gaze, pretending to look around, but actually glanced twice at her cousin, but couldn’t discern anything. Carefully, she said, ”Sis, I think my approach may have been inappropriate, but the essence of the matter wasn’t wrong.”

”Reason.”

”Because that swindler was so annoying! Strutting around so pompously. Shouldn’t a true master be humble and broad-minded?

I merely opposed him a bit, and he got so angry and wanted to hit me. If it weren’t for the Protective Talisman you gave me, you wouldn’t even see me now.”

Feeling determined, Lin Baiwei spoke bluntly, saying whatever came to mind.

”Alright.”

Lin Yanke nodded and continued asking, ”Then, after all this time, deep in your heart, what do you desire the most?”

Seeing Lin Baiwei looking even more bewildered, she added a hint: ”In ancient times, emperors sought immortality, farmers wanted wealth, and small officials aimed for gradual promotion. How about you, what do you seek?”

”Me? I...”

Lin Baiwei snapped out of her confusion, her eyes growing increasingly bright: ”I desire a clear path of Dao! To have a peaceful mind. If someone tries to upset me, I’ll find my own way to happiness, and luckily, I have the ability to do that!”

Lin Yanke smiled softly, nodding, then solemnly said:

”Good, remember this, it is your Dao heart.”
