Ning An's Wild Wish System

”Ah?”

Lin Baiwei raised her head in confusion; she was already prepared to be scolded.

But now it seems... the situation has flipped?

Since it’s not a scolding, Lin Baiwei’s courage came up. She sat next to Lin Yanke, hugged her cousin’s arm, and said coquettishly:

”Sister, you scared me to death. I thought you were going to lecture me like the old man.”

”Lecture?”

”Yes, you don’t know. When you weren’t around, the old man couldn’t stand the sight of me, always lecturing me with clichés about unity, mutual help, and love for peace, saying that at the very least, I should be a normal person and not a wastrel.”

”Normal person?”

Lin Yanke shook her head: ”That’s a bit too much to ask. For a family like ours, it’s too hard to be a normal person.”

”Not to mention anything else, my dad seems honest and treats his wife and children very well, often doing welfare for the locals. But the business world is like a battlefield, and the means he uses to compete with others, can normal people even imagine them?”

”Or take the old man, for example. He truly has nothing bad to say about the people at the bottom and is genuinely dedicated to serving them. But if someone threatens his position, do you think he would show mercy?”

Lin Yanke clicked her tongue: ”The term ’normal person’ is too far away for us; it’s something we can’t clearly define.”

”We who cultivate the Dao must firmly follow the direction of our hearts and persist on this path, unwavering, even if it is a crooked one!”

Lin Baiwei was taken aback and instinctively said: ”Why does this sound more like those demonic paths in novels?”

”This is the authentic Daoist Skill. I don’t teach you how to be a person; I only teach you how to do things.”

Lin Yanke looked at her, not unkindly, and said: ”Before doing something, you must first think about whether you can handle it. If things develop into the worst-case scenario, do you have the ability to resolve it?

It’s natural to act on your own will, but first, you need to have the strength to act as you wish. It’s your own Dao to travel the world freely and joyfully with your abilities; but if you cause trouble and need someone else to clean up the mess, that’s foolish. No one can wipe your backside for life.”

Uh...

It was obvious that Lin Baiwei took these words to heart, and her expression turned a bit serious.

She had been well-provided for and carefree since childhood, growing up in a prestigious family. The future had been planned by her family long ago, so she naturally didn’t need to worry about it.

But now that she’s on the path of cultivation, all the plans her family made are naturally no longer applicable.

She must step out of her comfort zone and actively face all the possible setbacks and challenges of the future. Only then will it be the true path.

Seeing Lin Baiwei deep in thought, Lin Yanke knew the time was right and couldn’t help but reveal a satisfied smile.

Her path is simple: to seek immortality, to seek freedom, and for those familiar with her, to attain immortality and freedom together.

As the saying goes: When one person attains the Dao, even their chickens and dogs ascend to heaven.

So it is.

...

Toward the end of September, Y City’s high-speed rail station.

The Dragon Country people inherently carry a yearning for new scenic spots. Backed by the Qilian Mountain tourist attraction, the Z City high-speed rail station sees countless travelers coming and going every day.

Not only in the waiting area but even in the dining area, it was packed with people, a sea of black heads.

Meanwhile, at the waiting area for the train to Guixi City, although it was also crowded and noisy, everyone’s gaze involuntarily glanced in one direction.

The focus of attention abruptly shifted to a gray-haired yet youthful-looking old Daoist sitting cross-legged.

He wore a gray Daoist robe, typical of a Daoist figure from television, with no visible modern electronic products. To his right, there was even a bulging bag.

This old Daoist appeared quite aged, yet he felt oddly full of vitality.

The old Daoist was none other than the Temple Master of Qianyun Temple, Ye Yunqing.

Though the Daoist gathering was the day after tomorrow, Y City is quite far from Dragon Tiger Mountain. Even by high-speed rail, it would take almost a whole day to arrive.

Perhaps due to the large scale of the gathering, that troublesome person had generously allocated thirty thousand for Qianyun Temple to use for travel expenses.

Based on Ye Yunqing’s guess, this gathering would most likely see some unexpected changes, so he didn’t bring his apprentices but went alone.

This way, even if anything unexpected happened, the heritage of Qianyun Temple would not be interrupted.

”Attention all passengers, the G2032 train from Y City to Guixi City is now boarding...”

Upon hearing the broadcast, Ye Yunqing opened his eyes, then stood up and stretched his body.

He didn’t feel much while sitting, but once he stood up, an indescribable aura emanated from him, startling those around.

The old Daoist’s face remained calm, revealing no other expressions, but the seriousness in his eyes was unmistakable. He walked briskly toward the train, heading to the Daoist’s thousand-year sacred ground—Dragon Tiger Mountain!

Guixi City isn’t very big, with a population of just over 500,000, but given that it’s a county-level city, it’s not too bad.

Initially, Guixi City’s economy wasn’t prosperous, but it couldn’t resist Dragon Tiger Mountain’s rising popularity. With more and more tourists visiting, Guixi City’s economy soared, becoming a nationally renowned tourist county.

Speaking of Dragon Tiger Mountain, one can’t help but mention Celestial Master Zhang of Dragon Tiger Mountain.

Since Zhang Daoling, although he never settled on Dragon Tiger Mountain, his descendants regard him as the founding ancestor of the orthodox tradition of Dragon Tiger Mountain.

Sixty plus generations and over two thousand years, even though there have been unsavory incidents within the Celestial Master’s legacy, they at least maintained the Celestial Master’s name.
