The Comeback of the Cannon-Fodder Supporting Actress

Fatty Xu came pretty quickly, just after Chen Wei called him, and within a couple of days, Xu arrived.

Once he was here, Anning and Chen Wei took him out for a meal, and after dinner, they had a detailed conversation. Afterwards, Anning gave some money to Fatty Xu to start recruiting.

What Anning wanted Fatty Xu to do was to set up a group of naval forces.

She knew that as time went on, the power of the naval forces would only grow stronger. Online, many things needed to be done by the naval forces.

She ran an entertainment company, and as the company grew, whenever rumors or negative stories about celebrities appeared, like scandals, or when stars were blackened by rival companies, she needed the naval forces to control the public opinion.

Rather than looking for naval forces when the time comes, it would be better to get trusted people to take care of this business in advance. If done well, Fatty Xu could not only help Anning with public opinion control but also take on tasks from other entertainment companies.

Fatty Xu truly loved this business. He took the money and in no time gathered quite a few people, really managing to set up a group of naval forces.

Not just that, Fatty Xu started posting online and taught his subordinates how to post as well. After the kids began their military training at school, Fatty Xu secured quite a few big influencer accounts.

With plenty of manpower for Fatty Xu, the auditions were already over, and the talent show officially began, being broadcast both on TV and online. Soon, the talent show became very popular.

After the kids went back to school, Anning got even busier. She had to deal with the talent show and the filming of TV dramas while starting to write again.

This time, Anning wrote an apocalyptic-themed piece.

Once her new work was uploaded, it attracted a lot of old readers, and even though it hadn’t been released for purchase yet, the rewards were already pouring in.

Besides this, the short video project was also brought up in the agenda, not to mention the debut plans for He Ningkang and Xu Xuan.

Anning could really wish to split herself into several people to get everything done.

That day, she arrived at the company early in the morning, and once there, she headed to the artist department.

After arriving, Anning met with several artists, she asked where He Ningkang was, and went directly to find him.

Recently, He Ningkang had been studying very hard.

He hadn’t learned acting, everything needed to be learned from scratch, making it harder for him. Typically, He Ningkang would arrive at the company before sunrise to study and wouldn’t return home until evening. Over this period, his studies had made quite a bit of progress.

Anning found He Ningkang in a practice room.

He was making various expressions in front of the mirror when Anning knocked on the door.

He Ningkang turned and saw Anning: ”Mr. Qin, how come you’re here?”

Anning walked in with a smile: ”I came to check on you guys. So, how’s it going living at the company, are you used to it?”

He Ningkang nodded: ”Everything’s great, everyone’s been taking good care of me.”

Anning noticed the books nearby: ”Practicing how to control expressions?”

As she spoke, she picked up the book and flipped through it, seeing many notes made by He Ningkang. After a glance, Anning laughed: ”You’re quite serious.”

He Ningkang brought over a chair for Anning to sit.

Anning sat down: ”Keep working hard, once your studies progress, I’ll arrange for you to debut.”

He Ningkang was overjoyed: ”Thank you, Mr. Qin.”

Anning raised her hand: ”You haven’t learned acting or practiced much, there’s a lot you don’t know. How about this, find a script and act out a scene for me to see how your studies are going.”

He Ningkang frowned: ”There’s no script here.”

Anning stood up and handed the book back to He Ningkang: ”The book has some small scenes, pick an easier one to act out.”

He Ningkang flipped through the book for a while and began performing.

Honestly, his acting was really awkward. After all, he wasn’t trained in this field, his expressions were somewhat stiff, he couldn’t let go, and his dialogue skills were lacking.

Anning frowned, pondered for a moment, then looked at the book herself and stood in front of He Ningkang, repeating the previous segment: ”Acting is not just about performing in the moment, you also need to control your expressions well, which requires adjusting facial muscles. Additionally, the environment greatly impacts your expressions. For instance, knowing where the light is, whether certain expressions are better facing towards or away from the light, smiling when sad is different from usual, looking up versus looking down gives a different feeling...”

Anning spoke while turning with a smile, facing the window’s bright light and flashing a joyful smile: ”See, facing the light and smiling like this makes one feel very happy and joyful.”

She turned sideways, keeping the same smile: ”How does this feel?”

He Ningkang mulled it over: ”This feels less intense than before, lacks that happiness from before, but instead feels very warm.”

Anning nodded, then turned away from the light and had He Ningkang pull the curtain to one side. She smiled again.

He Ningkang was startled: ”Smiling like this has an eerie feeling...”

Anning made a sound of acknowledgment: ”You see, lighting has a significant effect on acting.”

After this, she taught He Ningkang how to control facial muscles in specific scenarios.

Honestly, Anning only taught for a short while, but it had a significant impact on He Ningkang, he seemed to have unlocked something, suddenly gaining insight.

Anning laughed: ”Practice well, I’ll teach you a way to smile, give it a try.”

She taught He Ningkang how to smile warmly, how to smile softly giving a genial impression, how to portray slight aloofness, and how to appear elegant.

He Ningkang was truly a smart kid, quickly picking it up.

Anning nodded in satisfaction: ”Continue to learn some body movements, I’ll plan how to debut you.”

After saying this, Anning waved at He Ningkang: ”You keep learning, I’ll go check on Xu Xuan.”

While Anning was busy on her end, the kids’ military training concluded.

The kids stayed home for a day after, and then began formal classes.

Xiao Yishan only realized after starting classes that her grades were the worst in the class. Afraid that poor grades might get her kicked out during the midterm exam, she started studying intensely as classes began.

This child was showing unprecedented diligence, waking up early to memorize, sometimes staying up until eleven at night without going to sleep.

Her effort prompted Qin Xiaomeng and Qin Xiaocong to study hard too, fearing falling behind in their studies.

The three chased each other until the midterm exam, and after the test, all three scored well.

Especially Qin Xiaocong, who ranked second in the entire grade.

Qin Xiaomeng also ranked among the top ten in the class, even Xiao Yishan reached middle-level standings.

Qin Xiaomeng not only improved academically but also made a good friend in class.

Anning had less time at home recently, but when she was home, she would chat with the kids to understand their school life.

She heard Qin Xiaomeng say her good friend has a great personality, a kind girl, they got along well. Anning figured it couldn’t be far off.

However, after the midterm, as it got cooler, time for cotton clothing came, and suddenly one day Qin Xiaomeng ran home crying.
