The Comeback of the Cannon-Fodder Supporting Actress

Thinking of his grandma, Xie Kun couldn’t help asking his mom, ”Mom, does Grandma have any relatives?”

Madam Xie thought for a while, ”I don’t think so, I never heard your grandma mention them. Many years ago, all her relatives were gone. Why did you suddenly think of asking about this?”

Talking with his mom, Xie Kun didn’t hide it, ”I ran into an aunt today, who looked exactly like Grandma when she was young. I just couldn’t help but ask.”

”Really exactly alike?” Madam Xie frowned.

”Really.”

Xie Kun then mumbled, ”Grandma was really beautiful when she was young. If there were any beauties that captivated entire nations, it would probably be someone like Grandma. Honestly speaking, it’s not easy to find someone in this world who looks like Grandma, let alone exactly alike.”

Speaking up to this point, Xie Kun couldn’t help but complain, ”Mom, is Aunt really Grandma’s biological daughter? Why doesn’t she look like Grandma at all? If she even had a bit of Grandma’s beauty, she would certainly be stunning, but what a pity.”

”What else if she’s not Grandma’s biological daughter?”

Madam Xie laughed and scolded, ”When she was brought back, your grandpa and grandma did a paternity test.”

That makes sense.

Xie Kun thought so too. Originally, his Aunt was sent to live with another family shortly after birth due to some reasons, and then because of issues at home, they couldn’t bring her back in time, and they couldn’t find the family until many years later when they finally brought her back.

When bringing her back, the Xie Family wanted to ensure there was no mistake, so they personally took Aunt Xie for a paternity test, and only after confirming it did they recognize her.

”I’m just feeling sorry for her, you know, my grandpa wasn’t bad-looking, and my grandma turned out like that, so why did Aunt grow up looking so plain?”

Xie Kun complained again.

Madam Xie just ignored him, only urged, ”Then hurry back, stop dawdling.”

”Okay.”

Xie Kun responded.

When Anning returned to the hotel, the four girls were already back. They were gathered around Xiao Yuan chatting, everyone’s face filled with worry. Seeing Anning return safely, the four girls finally relaxed.

To calm the children’s nerves, Anning and Xiao Yuan took the whole family for a good meal in the evening.

After dinner, Xiao Lu went to find Xiao Yuan.

She spoke about the matter she had been contemplating for a long time, ”Dad, I want to learn how to be a geomancy master from you.”

Xiao Yuan was reading a book, hearing this, he closed the book, put it aside, and looked at Xiao Lu, ”Being a geomancy master is not easy, learning it is very tough. Can you handle it?”

”I can.”

Xiao Lu nodded firmly, ”I’ve gone with Dad to do Feng Shui a few times, and I really like it. It’s a feeling you can get addicted to. No matter how tough learning it might be, I’m willing to endure any hardship, I can handle it.”

Xiao Yuan motioned for Xiao Lu to step forward.

Xiao Lu walked over and squatted in front of him.

Xiao Yuan placed a hand on her head. After a while, he sighed, ”It’s fate. You can stand up.”

Xiao Lu stood up, her face full of smiles.

Anning, who was typing on the side, glanced at her, squinting slightly, ”LuLu, come over here.”

Xiao Lu went over.

Anning patted Xiao Lu gently, ”Alright, go and rest.”

Xiao Lu, looking puzzled, went back to her room to rest.

After she left, Xiao Yuan asked Anning, ”What’s wrong with LuLu?”

Anning gritted her teeth, ”There is a sealing placed on LuLu, don’t know who was so mean to place such a vicious sealing on a child, not only sealing her spirit but also dooming her to a miserable death.”

Xiao Yuan frowned, ”We didn’t notice it before.”

”Previously, our cultivation level wasn’t high enough, and LuLu didn’t have the intention to become a geomancy master, which didn’t touch the sealing. Now that you’ve agreed to teach her, the sealing has revealed itself.”

Anning explained to Xiao Yuan.

Xiao Yuan’s body and Xiao Lu are blood relatives, he couldn’t see as clearly as Anning.

”I see, seems like the person who set the sealing has some skills.”

Anning saved the draft she was working on, then turned off the computer. She sat down and spoke solemnly with Xiao Yuan, ”Do you feel like our family’s luck hasn’t been great? In an ordinary family, one or two people having bad luck is normal, but our whole family... also, according to what LuLu said, our entire family will die miserably. If someone is not intentionally doing evil behind our backs, the probability would be too small.”

Xiao Yuan stroked his chin, ”Our family can almost be regarded as a family of cannon fodder, from the elders to the children, all are cannon fodder. This is truly interesting.”

”Don’t overthink it.”

Xiao Yuan held Anning’s hand, ”When the enemy comes, we’ll counter them. We are here, and we’ll protect the whole family. The best plan is to properly teach LuLu.”

Xiao Lu returned to her room, she lay down but was still unable to sleep.

She had been contemplating some things for a while.

She also felt that her family’s series of misfortunes were excessive.

In her past life memories, no one in her family died without tragedy. Xiao Lu initially thought it was just bad luck, but recently she witnessed some things with Xiao Yuan, and she wondered if the tragic end of her family was due to someone intentionally doing harm.

The reason Xiao Lu wants to be a geomancy master is because of this motivation.

She wants to learn some mystical techniques, so she can help Xiao Yuan later, or, if she learned those techniques, she can protect her family.

Xiao Lu stared at the ceiling, calculating in her mind the incidents, the more she thought, the more she felt something was amiss.

Her heart tightened.

She felt as if a sinister large hand was silently reaching out, reaching her family.

This feeling made Xiao Lu shudder.

She couldn’t sleep that night, and the next morning when she got up, her complexion was poor with dark circles under her eyes.

In the morning, when she went to the hotel’s buffet for breakfast, Anning pulled Xiao Lu and asked, ”What’s the matter? Didn’t sleep well?”

Xiao Lu acknowledged, ”I was scared yesterday, fell asleep very late.”

”Then tonight sleep in the same room with Xiao Meng, it’ll be better with two people together.”

Anning suggested.

Xiao Lu thought for a moment and agreed.

On this day, the family didn’t go out but stayed at the hotel.

This hotel is large, built like a garden, with hot springs and several big and small pools. The family stayed in the hotel, playing, soaking in hot springs, swimming, and exercising.

After two days, Xiao Yuan rented a yacht and took the family out to sea for a day.

After returning from the sea, when the family arrived at the hotel entrance, unexpectedly, they ran into Xie Kun.

Xie Kun was happy to see Anning, ”Aunt Qin, what a coincidence!”

Anning smiled back and greeted him, ”It really is quite a coincidence.”

”Did you guys go out to have fun?” Xie Kun glanced at Xiao Yuan and the children and couldn’t help but ask.

Anning nodded, ”We went out to sea for fun. What are you up to?”

Xie Kun chuckled, ”Just wandering around before going home for the year-end, picking up some souvenirs to take back as gifts.”

”Okay, you go ahead and shop, we’ve been tired all day and need to go back and rest early.”

Anning exchanged a few words with Xie Kun and then bid farewell as well, ”See you then.”

Xie Kun tactfully replied, ”See you.”
