Marvel: Odin Imprisoned Me with Hela

”You need to live for yourself and witness things with your own eyes.”

Orion Cross removed the Lasso of Truth from his hand and returned it to Diana.

”So humans outside are not all righteous, kind, brave, nature-loving, and full of upward passion?”

Diana accepted the Lasso of Truth in confusion, raised her head, and looked at Orion Cross as she asked.

”Yes, that’s right.”

Orion Cross did not speak. The voice came from the doorway.

Hippolyta had been about to enter, but after hearing Diana’s question, she could not help speaking up.

”Diana, not all humans outside are worth saving. You only need to protect yourself.”

Hippolyta walked up to Diana, gently stroked her head, and spoke kindly.

”Is what my mother said true?”

Diana turned to Orion Cross and asked.

For some reason, she inexplicably found herself more willing to believe Orion Cross, someone she had only met today.

Perhaps it was because from the moment they met until now, he had always treated her honestly.

Her mother, however, had deceived her so much and for so long, even if those lies had been well-intentioned.

”What she said is right. The world isn’t simply black and white, and people usually aren’t simply good or bad either.”

Orion Cross nodded to Diana. ”You need to understand that it wasn’t the God of War who created war. It was war that shaped the God of War.”

”He’s right.”

Hippolyta looked at Orion Cross in surprise, then turned to Diana. ”This man is a true wise one. You should learn more from him in the future.”

Of course, if Hippolyta had arrived a few minutes earlier and heard the stories about Zeus that Orion Cross had told Diana, she definitely would not have said that.

”I understand, Mother.”

Diana had already thought the same in her heart, but she did not show it. She still put on the appearance of an obedient child, though she asked, ”Then, Mother, do you know something too?”

”Yes.”

Hippolyta did not deny it. She tapped the nearby stone table, and several Amazon warriors walked in carrying a chest.

Bang!

The chest opened, and inside were the treasures stored in the place where Orion Cross had first descended into this world.

A long sword, a shield, a headband, and a set of armor.

Together with the Lasso of Truth and the silver bracelets on Diana’s wrists, her full set of equipment was complete.

This was the difference between having a mother and not having one. For the same kind of adventure outside the beginner village, other protagonists had to fight monsters, level up, and farm equipment, while Diana walked straight out with max-level divine gear.

”These were prepared for you. They belong to you now.”

Hippolyta pointed at the equipment in the chest and said to Diana.

Diana hesitated a little. ”These are treasures guarded by generations of Amazons...”

”No. I lied to you.”

Hippolyta interrupted Diana, looked into her eyes, and said, ”The treasure we have guarded for generations, aside from you, is only a single box.”

”A box?”

Diana frowned. ”I’ve never heard of it.”

”That is because no one ever mentioned it to you.”

Hippolyta sighed softly. ”That box once caused a terrible war. The gods, humans, Amazons, Atlanteans, and the foreign Green Lantern Corps all united as one. Only then did they defeat the enemy and stop that war.”

”If the gods were also drawn into that war, then Ares...”

Diana spoke tentatively.

”It was during that war that Ares obtained enough power, which gave him the audacity to challenge the king of the gods.”

Hippolyta nodded slightly and looked at Orion Cross. ”So what he said is not wrong. It was not the God of War who caused war, but war that created the God of War.”

”If they ever make a comeback, you can use this to contact me. I’ll definitely come help back you up.”

Orion Cross took out one of Galakrond’s scales and tossed it onto the table.

”You... foresaw this too?”

Hippolyta looked at the scale, and a trace of fear flickered in her eyes.

Seeing her mother’s expression, Diana glanced at Orion Cross. Her gaze struggled for a moment before she said, ”Since this world still has so many hidden threats, then I...”

”No.”

Orion Cross shook his finger and grabbed Diana’s bracelet. ”This world doesn’t need your protection. Just leave it to a certain Kryptonian.”

”Kryptonian?”

Neither Diana nor Hippolyta understood who Orion Cross was referring to.

”That outsider is very strong?”

Hippolyta frowned slightly and asked.

She did not reject outsiders. After all, the Green Lantern Corps had once been their comrades-in-arms.

”Strong. Strong enough to beat both your Amazons and Atlantis one-sidedly.”

Orion Cross nodded and said this without giving them any face.

”Then compared to Steppenwolf?”

Hippolyta did not explain who Steppenwolf was. If Orion Cross truly had the ability to prophesy, he should know who Steppenwolf was.

”A one-sided beating.”

Orion Cross’s answer was still those same words.

”I understand.”

Hippolyta breathed a slight sigh of relief.

She did not ask why Orion Cross still wanted her to notify him at that time if a Kryptonian could already crush Steppenwolf.

Aside from Steppenwolf’s own strength, what was even more terrifying was his army of Parademons. Every enemy they killed would be transformed into an ally.

Because of that frightening ability, the best way to fight a Parademon army was to avoid sending in low-level combatants at all. Otherwise, they would only become supplies for the enemy.

”Sleep peacefully. It seems Themyscira still has several decades of peace ahead. I’ll go back and rest too.”

Hippolyta smiled and stroked Diana’s head, then got up and left.

After her mother left, Diana walked to the chest, lightly touched the long sword, then put on the armor inside and placed the starlight tiara on her head.

”Is this what a child does after getting a new toy?”

Diana was just about to speak to Orion Cross with a smile, but his words blocked her first.

”I’m not a child.”

Diana pouted, placed the weapon and shield to the side, and sat back on the bed. ”I was just thinking. If Ares won’t cause war, then what meaning is there in eliminating him?”

”Eliminating him won’t put an end to war, but it can prevent unnecessary wars.”

After casually answering, Orion Cross glanced at the closed door outside, then looked at Diana in confusion. ”Why did she have no reaction at all when she saw me in your room? She’s Zeus’s old lover, so surely she can’t be as clueless as you, right?”

”Maybe... she thinks you’re like a monk?”

Diana spoke in a joking tone and smiled.

”Please don’t misuse a word right after learning it. Thank you.”

Orion Cross speechlessly knocked Diana on the head and said.

”Um...”

Diana suddenly lowered her voice and leaned closer to Orion Cross. ”Can you let me see it?”

”See what?”

Orion Cross turned to Diana in confusion, only to find that her gaze was fixed on...

”I’m going to call the police.”

”Hold you tightly?”

Diana wrapped her arms around Orion Cross. ”Is this how I have to do it for you to agree?”

”Is that a spoken expression for reproduction? Isn’t this a little too fast?”

What the hell. Seriously, what the hell.

Orion Cross instantly felt his head swell. There was no way to communicate normally anymore.
