Not Being a Trainer This Time

Accompanied by the ascension of the mature World Tree, the pasture returned to its usual tranquility.

Because Giratina opened the way between the pasture and the World Tree, Eevees still run from the Reverse World to play on the World Tree.

The Gogoats occasionally go there too, to guide the Skiddo that had been rescued by Mewtwo.

Meanwhile, Naoki began a leisurely life of sitting in the sunset, sipping tea and listening to music as the evening breeze blew from the wilds.

That afternoon, Mayor Thomas came to the pasture to chat with him about the fireworks festival held at the end of the month.

”Naoki, the fireworks festival is going to be held at the end of this month. Don’t forget to bring your Pokemon to join in!”

The white-haired old man said with a big smile:

”The town has bought many rare fireworks and has invited numerous shops to set up stalls. Compared to before, this year’s fireworks festival is especially grand and spectacular!”

”Of course I’ll be there.” Naoki nodded with a smile.

”Then it’s settled!” Mayor Thomas happily put on his hat, stood up, and prepared to leave the pasture: ”The town will also prepare free food and drinks for everyone to enjoy while watching the fireworks. Ah, just thinking about it is exciting!”

Naoki chuckled; the fireworks festival is a traditional festival in the Paldea region, passed down from a long time ago.

This event, held on the last day of summer where people and Pokemon gather on the seaside beach to watch the beautiful fireworks bloom in the night sky, is indeed alluring.

But then again, is Lono also coming to Porto Marinada Town for the fireworks festival?

”Then I’ll take my leave first, see you at the fireworks festival later!” Mayor Thomas said goodbye to Naoki with a smile.

Naoki escorted the old man to the door, watching his figure gradually disappear before returning to the pasture.

On the coffee table in the living room were some cookies and small snacks, personally made by Mayor Thomas’s wife. He always brought some as gifts when he came by.

It’s said those were Cyclizar’s favorite snacks in the past.

Cyclizar indeed loved them, and even Koraidon seemed to find the taste pleasant.

The two Pokemon sat on the floor munching away, and before long, they had finished all the cookies.

Naoki: ”...”

He returned to the bedroom and sat at his desk to write a letter.

The letter said that these vegetables were freshly picked from the pasture, and there were too many at home to finish, so he was sending some as a gift.

Then, Naoki gathered some fresh fruits and vegetables into a bag, hung it on Cyclizar, and let it deliver them to Mayor Thomas in town as a gesture of goodwill.

”Gao~”

Cyclizar gladly accepted the task and dashed out of the pasture with the bag.

Nearing noon, Naoki prepared to go to the fields to pick some vegetables for lunch.

But as soon as he stepped out, he saw three Gogoats jumping out from the Reverse World.

And in their mouths, they each held three leaves emitting a faint green glow.

Seeing this, Naoki was slightly taken aback.

The Gogoats ran up to him and placed the leaves down.

Naoki, amazed, asked: ”Did the World Tree give these to you?”

”Baa!”

The Gogoats happily nodded.

Naoki quickly understood.

The Gogoats intended for him to use these three leaves to make a dish for them!

Naoki recalled a dessert he once made using the leaves of the World Tree.

With this thought, he turned around, took the leaves home, and pulled out his cooking manual to look up information on the World Tree’s leaves.

This was a habit Naoki had developed over the years. Each time he developed a new dish, he would record the necessary ingredients, preparation methods, and effects.

Soon, he found the relevant information.

[Leaf Cake (Incomplete Version) (S-): A cake made by mixing the leaves of the World Tree with eggs, MooMoo Fresh Milk, and other ingredients. Take a moment to listen, and you’ll feel the breath of nature.

”Sure enough!” Naoki couldn’t help but mumble.

This cake, made from the leaves of an immature World Tree, already has such an effect.

Now, if made from mature leaves, who knows what the original effects might turn into, he didn’t dare to imagine!

”Now, I’ll only know if I try.”

With that thought, Naoki began to make the Leaf Cake.

First, he ground the World Tree’s leaves into a paste with a mixer, then added eggs, milk, and other ingredients.

While pouring in the milk, Naoki had a sudden thought—what if he tried using Skiddo’s goat milk instead?

After all, in the current pasture, the quality of goat milk produced by Skiddo far surpasses that of the MooMoo Milk from Miltank.
