Not Being a Trainer This Time

And the older brother Indeedee controlled Charizard to charge forward, using Flamethrower against Tyranitar.

However, that Tyranitar seemed to read the motion like a book.

At the moment Charizard acted, it stomped the ground fiercely and used Stone Edge.

Charizard was defeated in one move just the same.

Naoki tried to defend, but after Tyranitar defeated Charizard, it directly charged at his Vileplume, using Giga Impact, instantly knocking it out.

The words ”game over” appeared on the 3ds screen.

Outside the screen, one person and two Pokemon looked at each other.

His sister Indeedee frowned: ”Ai ai! Ai ai?” (Brother, you liar! Didn’t you say you’d already cleared this stage before?)

The older brother Indeedee had a bead of sweat form on his forehead.

It tried hard to recall the past events and replied: ”Ai ai...” (I don’t quite remember, the guardian Pokemon back then wasn’t Tyranitar, it was Meganium, and my Charizard defeated it in two moves...)

Naoki: ”...”

”Don’t worry.” Naoki reassured: ”It seems the boss in the maze keeps changing, we just got unlucky this time with Tyranitar countering us. Next time, let’s regroup and try again.”

But such random mazes and high-difficulty final bosses indeed added playability for players.

Moreover, its battles weren’t turn-based, but rather had a bit of an action game feel.

The moves weren’t limited to four; players could pre-arrange move combinations beforehand.

Then in battle, players could freely switch between move wheels to execute their moves.

The Game Freak in this world is something!

Naoki immediately decided to give it another go.

This time he arranged a wide-ranging, more versatile lineup based on the variety of Pokemon they had.

His sister Indeedee played Psyduck, his older brother Indeedee continued with Charmander, while Naoki switched his Pokemon from Oddish to Eevee.

Psyduck, when evolved into Golduck, could use moves of both Water Type and Psychic Type, and could also use Screech to lower the opponent’s defense.

Charizard had the coverage of Fire, Flying, and Dragon Types.

Naoki planned to evolve Eevee into Leafeon.

Before evolving, it could use Tail Whip, Charm, Growl, and Helping Hand to assist Charizard. After evolving, it could use the combo of Sword Dance and Leaf Blade, matching with Golduck’s Screech use.

Not only that, Leafeon could use Sunny Day to change the weather.

Sunny Day not only boosted Charizard but also activated Leafeon’s ability [Chlorophyll], increasing its speed.

After finalizing the lineup, the game started again.

With Naoki directing and everyone cooperating, they safely reached the lowest level.

This time, the final Boss changed to Primeape.

Golduck started off with Screech, Charizard kept Primeape occupied around, Naoki took the opportunity to use Sunny Day, fully boosting with Sword Dance, and finally, cooperating with Charizard, they successfully defeated Primeape.

Victory!

”Ai ai!”

The Indeedee siblings exclaimed in surprise.

The three of them were engrossed in the game here, even Koraidon and Cyclizar were drawn over.

Seeing the Pokemon interested in the gaming console, Naoki couldn’t help but ask: ”Do you want to give it a try too?”

”Gagao!”

Cyclizar seeing Naoki having so much fun wanted to give it a try too.

Alcremie also looked eager.

Koraidon had played before, and wasn’t as intensely interested in the game console as Cyclizar.

Seeing this, Naoki handed them the game console, then took out his Rotom Phone, opened the online shopping app, and said to them:

”Then I’ll buy a few more gaming consoles so you can all team up and play together.”

Fearing other Pokemon would want to try too, Naoki ordered ten 3ds consoles in one go, informing the store owner that he would pick them up in person.

After saying that, Naoki went out to contact a working Dragonite and gave it a commission task.

Fifteen minutes later, Dragonite returned to the ranch with a bag full of 3ds consoles.

Naoki distributed them to the Pokemon, taught them how to operate, then sat on the sofa watching them play.

In his mind, he imagined the game’s settings, feeling some aspects quite interesting.

Pokemon exploring dungeons, treasure hunting, finding various rare items.

Even after defeating the final boss, they could invite them back to the rescue team guild headquarters to become teammates for exploration.

Not only that, what intrigued Naoki further was the maze containing various Berries and treasures.

”If only the World Tree had such a maze.” Naoki thought.

In this way, Pokemon training hard and wanting to become stronger would have a place to expend their energy.

Just like the Skiddo taught by three Gogoat.

It could enter the maze to train itself, becoming stronger.

And Farfetch’d could also go into the maze to practice sword techniques.

However, the pity was that the interior of the World Tree did not have such a place.

Building one would require finding God of Space Palkia to open up a connection to Mystery Dungeon World, allowing Pokemon to go in for exploration.

Mystery Dungeon could further spin off a series of commissions.

Such as seeking treasure, aiding Pokemon in need, exploring the maze, and such content.

In this way, the Explorer Team Guild Headquarters would truly become a headquarters.
