Not Being a Trainer This Time

With the capture of Maxie and Archie, the shadow looming over the Hoenn Region finally dispersed.

Ordinary members who witnessed the destructive power of Groudon and Kyogre withdrew from Team Magma and Team Aqua, choosing to return to normal life.

However, the senior executives of these two organizations have all disappeared without a trace.

The International Police dispatched professional officers to track down Courtney, Matt, Shelly, and others.

For the time being, the crisis in the Hoenn Region has temporarily ended.

Kanaz City, the old residence of the Stone Family.

Steven’s arm was wrapped in a white bandage, and bright sunlight streamed in through the windows, accompanied by a gentle breeze, causing the silvery grey curtains to flutter softly.

A pot of blooming flowers sat on the windowsill, and outside the window was a clear blue sky, free of clouds, bringing a sense of peace and happiness to those who looked at it.

Steven gazed absentmindedly at the scene, lost in thought.

At that moment, the door opened.

The president of Devon Company, Steven’s father Joseph Stone, walked in with a private doctor.

”Father.” Steven snapped back to reality and called out to the newcomer.

Joseph Stone looked worried, still feeling immense fear whenever he recalled what happened that day.

If that mysterious person hadn’t appeared at that time, Joseph Stone dared not imagine what might have happened to his son.

”It’s all over now!”

Joseph Stone comforted his son’s feelings.

Steven, looking helpless, said: ”Father, I am not a child anymore.”

”You’ll always be a child to me!” Joseph Stone said.

Steven: ”...”

The private doctor pretended not to hear anything, silently stepping forward to examine Steven’s body.

A moment later, he put down the instrument in his hand and said to Joseph Stone:

”Everything’s fine now, Mr. Steven has a very good physique and has basically recovered. The bandage and splint can be removed in three days, but you should still take care not to overexert yourself afterward.”

Hearing this, Joseph Stone let out a long sigh of relief: ”Great, now I can be at ease!”

The work done, the private doctor turned and left the room, leaving space for the father and son.

Then Joseph Stone got to the main topic.

”Steven, we need to thank that person properly!”

”I know.” After a pause, Steven continued: ”I’ve already arranged to visit him in a few days.”

”That’s good, that’s good.” Joseph Stone nodded, lifting two suitcases from his side: ”This is a little gift I prepared for him; remember to take it with you when the time comes.”

Steven was startled, looking at the suitcases, he asked: ”What’s inside?”

Joseph Stone opened the suitcases, and the next second, two suitcases full of cash were revealed under Steven’s gaze.

”...”

Steven was silent for a long time, then asked: ”Isn’t this a bit too tacky?”

Moreover, from his understanding, that person known as Wing King didn’t seem to be lacking money or concerned about fame and fortune.

Recently, speculation about his identity had been fermenting online for several days, but from start to finish, there was no sign of him appearing.

Many netizens even went to Giratina, trying to find out the identity of the Motorcycle Mask, but Giratina didn’t reveal a single word.

This only enhanced the mystery of that person’s identity.

The Trainer of Giratina, who summoned the Sky God Rayquaza, single-handedly stopped the Earth God and Sea God...

Such a mysterious and powerful Trainer has been admired throughout history.

In the Hoenn Region, many have even spontaneously formed a fan club for [Motorcycle Mask], wearing matching Cyclizar masks to gatherings.

After Steven said this, Joseph Stone also realized that the gift he chose might be too tacky.

But he thought again, maybe that mysterious person needed money?

After all, raising and training Pokemon is very expensive.

Not to mention that Giratina is so big, doesn’t it eat several berries and Pokeblocks at a time?

”Send it over first, then when you visit him, carefully observe what he might need, and we’ll prepare something more personalized.” Joseph Stone said.

After all, that person saved his son, and Steven is his only son. For Steven, he would be willing to give up Devon Company.

”...Alright then.” Steven reluctantly agreed.

”Then you should rest well, I won’t disturb you anymore!” Joseph Stone smiled as he bid farewell to his son.

After he left, Steven took out his Rotom Phone and opened the chat interface with [Wing King].

After a brief moment of thought, he sent a message asking—May I know your name?

A while later, a reply came from the other side.

Steven immediately took out his phone.

There on the screen appeared a line of words.

[Wing King: Naoki, my name is Naoki.]

In the Paldea Region, at Naoki Ranch.

After the rain had cleared, the temperature in the air dropped considerably.

After replying to Steven’s message, Naoki became a country rancher again.

He took a basket to the Apple Garden, picking apples covered in dew.

Over in Snorlax Park, Dragonite was vividly recounting the exploits of senior Rayquaza to a group of Pokemon including Dustox, Cyclizar, and Pawmot.

”Roar! Roar!” (Senior Rayquaza is amazing! With just one move, it defeated those two Pokemon that wanted to destroy the world!)
