Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

When the three women saw Zhao Rong actually following Jinlian toward the deep pond behind the town, they could only shake their heads.

”The ancients said that even a hero is no match for a beautiful woman. It seems that saying is true...”

Miss Lili walked behind Zhao Rong and Jinlian, watching the woman’s hips sway as she walked. This woman is clearly a vixen, she fumed internally. I bet Brother Zhao Rong’s soul has already been stolen by that witch. Otherwise, he wouldn’t be following her so obediently.

Yu Lan fumed internally. That vixen... of all the names she could have, it had to be Jinlian. Just hearing it, you know she’s a shameless floozy! And yet, Brother Zhao Rong insists on following her... We three are really at our wits’ end!

Xuelian despised the way Jinlian swayed her hips as she walked. Filled with rage, she muttered, ”It looks like that woman has successfully seduced Brother Zhao Rong...”

While the three women were fuming and worrying about Zhao Rong, the Assistant stepped forward to walk beside Jinlian. ”Miss Jinlian, don’t you worry,” he said, striking up a conversation. ”Just lead me and Brother Zhao Rong to that deep pond, and we’ll definitely find a way to catch that monster and rescue your brother.”

Jinlian nodded, giving the Assistant a charming look. ”Thank you, Big Brother,” she said sweetly. ”I know you two are both very powerful. That’s why I came all this way to find you and ask for your help.”

The Assistant gave a simple, honest smile. ”It’s no problem. A defenseless woman like you... if you ever have any trouble, you just tell us two strong men. We can definitely help you solve anything that’s bothering you.”

When the three women behind them saw how chummy the Assistant and Zhao Rong had already become with Jinlian, they were absolutely furious.

Lili sighed. ”Hmph. Men are all animals who think with their loins.”

Yu Lan shook her head. ”They’re such visual creatures. As long as a woman is pretty, nothing else matters. Everything else is just smoke.”

Xuelian stamped her foot in frustration. ”All this time, Brother Zhao Rong has met countless beauties and vixens, but none of them managed to entice him! How could he come to this town, meet some woman named Jinlian, and be so easily seduced?”

Just as the women were lamenting, Jinlian led the group to the deep pond behind the town. The pond wasn’t large, but its water was a murky, dark green that gave off a sinister and terrifying aura.

The Assistant studied the pond and the color of its water, then curiously asked, ”Jinlian, do you know how deep this pond is?”

Jinlian replied, ”Big Brother, this pond is said to be six million meters deep...”

When the Assistant heard the pond was six million meters deep, he was so frightened he fell right on his backside. ”My God!” he exclaimed in utter astonishment. ”This pool is deeper than the Mariana Trench, the deepest place on Earth!”

Zhao Rong also remarked with a sigh, ”It seems this pool connects directly to the Earth’s core. After all, the distance from the surface to the core is also about six million meters.”

Lili stepped forward, staring at the dark green water. She asked Jinlian, ”Hey, vixen, why is the water in this pond dark green?”

Jinlian explained, ”My lady, you may not know this, but a monster called the Green Water Beast lives in this pond. It’s what dyed the entire pool this color.”

When Lili heard the monster was called the ”Green Water Beast,” she found it hilarious. ”Give me a break! I’ve heard of the Incredible Hulk, but never a ’Green Water Beast.’ How cartoonish. That’s ridiculous...”

Yu Lan put on her special object-penetrating glasses and observed the pond closely. She discovered that while the surface was unnervingly calm, the water below was churning violently. She turned to Jinlian. ”Hey, you man-stealing witch, is there an Underground Dark River down there? Why is it so turbulent underneath when the surface is completely still?”

Jinlian explained, ”Miss Yu Lan, you might not know this, but the pool is incredibly deep. It doesn’t just connect to the Earth’s crust; it reaches all the way to the mantle and the core. Therefore, any vibrations or heat released from the core will enter the pond, which is what makes the water inside so turbulent.”

Xuelian observed that not a single tree or blade of grass grew around the pond. Curious, she asked, ”Jinlian, why is there no vegetation here? Logically, there should be plants wherever there’s water. Is the water toxic?”

Jinlian nodded. ”Yes, Miss Xuelian. The pool is so deep that it brings toxic chemical elements and unknown heavy metals up from the Earth’s core. The water isn’t just toxic; it’s a deadly poison. That’s why nothing can grow nearby. There aren’t even any fish or shrimp in the pool itself, just a few toxin-resistant microorganisms.”

Listening to this explanation, Xuelian drew a sharp breath. If we have to dive into this pool, we’ll need to be in fully sealed gear. Otherwise, we’d be poisoned to death for sure.

Just then, the Assistant noticed something strange. ”Jinlian,” he asked, pointing, ”didn’t you say nothing lives in this pond? Then what’s that? In the corner over there, a huge, dark shadow is slowly rising to the surface...”

Before he could finish, Jinlian screamed in terror, ”Oh no! The Green Water Beast! It’s coming out! Everyone, hide!”
