Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

When the three women realized the group of so-called dead people before them were just actors, they became furious. ”So, this hospital’s morgue is filled with living people? We actually thought you were dead! You bastards really know how to put on a show...”

Just then, the man who had been hunched over—the Wasp Patient—stood up straight, tore off his mask, and cackled, ”So, you’ve discovered our little trap... But it’s too late. You’re all trapped in this morgue now. The only way out for you is death...”

The thugs standing behind him boasted arrogantly, ”We’ve killed countless enemies of our boss, Wang Jingang, in this very morgue. Now you’ve been tricked into coming here as well... So, prepare to die.”

As the thugs laughed, Lili stepped forward and warned them, ”Don’t celebrate too soon, you scum. Do you have any idea who you’re dealing with? He is the renowned Brother Zhao Rong!”

Undaunted, Yu Lan also stepped forward. ”You think a mob like you can defeat Brother Zhao Rong? You’re dreaming! Just you wait. He’s one man, and he’s going to beat the hundred-plus of you so hard you’ll be scrambling for your teeth on the floor!”

Xuelian took a step forward and sneered, ”I think you’re the ones who should be preparing for death. The moment Brother Zhao Rong makes his move, he’ll annihilate you all effortlessly.”

Hearing the women’s warnings, the villains just laughed harder. ”So what if you’re powerful? We’ve captured the most important member of your team—your assistant! Now that we have a hostage, we’ll see how long you refuse to surrender.”

The Wasp Patient gripped the assistant’s neck with his left hand and held a knife to his throat with his right. ”Zhao Rong! Lili, Yu Lan, Xuelian! I order you to get on the ground and surrender now! Otherwise, my knife goes straight through his throat, and I’ll cut his head clean off!”

Good thing I’m so resourceful. I anticipated that Zhao Rong might see through our ruse, so I brainwashed the assistant and took him hostage ahead of time. Otherwise, dealing with clever people like them would have been impossible...

But before the Wasp Patient could finish his silent gloating, Zhao Rong snapped his fingers. ”Assistant, you can come out now. Let this Wasp Patient see whether the man he’s holding is the real deal or not.”

As soon as Zhao Rong snapped his fingers, a figure pulled back the white sheet on a nearby gurney, stood up, and walked over. It was the assistant.

Seeing him, the Wasp Patient was stunned. ”What the hell is going on? The man I have here, the one I drugged with a hypnotic—isn’t he the real assistant?”

Before the Wasp Patient could finish, the approaching assistant began to mock him. ”Wasp Patient, you think you’re so clever, but you’re the dumbest bastard of them all. You think you have the highest IQ? Compared to Brother Zhao Rong, yours is practically in the negatives.”

Watching this unfold, Lili asked in confusion, ”Brother Zhao Rong, what kind of game are you and the assistant playing? The three of us can’t make heads or tails of it.”

Yu Lan glanced from the assistant held hostage by the Wasp Patient to the one walking toward them, unable to tell them apart. She asked, ”Brother Zhao Rong, what is happening? Why is there a real assistant and a fake one?”

Xuelian’s eyes widened. She even took out a pair of binoculars to carefully compare the hostage with the assistant approaching them and spotted a discrepancy. ”Brother Zhao Rong, I get it now! The assistant the Wasp Patient is holding hostage is just a clone! The real one is right behind us!”

By then, the assistant had reached Zhao Rong and the women. He smiled at the Wasp Patient and said, ”Go on, you idiot. If you have the guts, kill the clone you’re holding.”

Xuelian burst out laughing. ”Wasp Patient, your own cleverness was your undoing! Didn’t you realize you were holding a clone? The real assistant is standing here with us. Now, just wait for the five of us to team up and crush you villains!”

At that moment, Lili also spotted the difference between the real assistant and the clone. She smiled at the Wasp Patient. ”I’ll tell you the truth, Wasp Patient. The real assistant has a red birthmark on his neck. The clone doesn’t. So go ahead and do whatever you want with the one you’ve got.”

Yu Lan stepped forward and taunted him, ”I think you should just kill the clone. It’ll save us the trouble of having to do it ourselves later. After all, a clone is still a person, and having two of them around might get confusing.”

Hearing all this, the Wasp Patient flew into a rage. He flung the hostage aside, beat his chest, and stomped his feet. ”Damn it! I can’t believe it! Not only did you see through the elaborate scheme I worked so hard to create, but you turned the tables on me and set your own trap! You’re clever, I’ll give you that. This is just my bad luck...”

However, before the Wasp Patient could finish speaking, Zhao Rong rushed forward. He picked up the ”clone” who had been thrown aside, carried him on his back to safety, and gently set him down.

Zhao Rong gave him an antidote for the hypnotic drug. ”Clone assistant? No, you’re the real assistant. The four of us and that fake assistant over there just put on a little act for the Wasp Patient. I can’t believe he actually fell for it. That guy really is an idiot.”
