Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

After Zhao Rong and his companions eliminated the wasp patient and over one hundred villains, they immediately left the temporary morgue. It was the dead of night, and Lili said worriedly, ”Zhao Rong, if we leave at this hour, we’ll be easy targets for the zombies...”

Yu Lan looked toward the mortuary in the distance. ”Zhao Rong, I have a feeling all the zombies in this hospital are coming from that mortuary. Look at the footprints on the ground—they all lead back to it.”

Xuelian scanned her surroundings vigilantly. ”Zhao Rong, we have to stay on high alert out here in the middle of the night, or those zombies will surround us.”

Just then, the assistant charged out with the Flamethrower on his back, ready for battle. ”Miss Lili, Yu Lan, Xuelian, don’t be afraid! As long as I have this Flamethrower, I’ll turn any number of zombies to ash in an instant!”

Zhao Rong stared at the nearby mortuary, lost in thought. After a moment, he said, ”Since we’re already here, we might as well get to the bottom of this hospital’s secrets. We’ll eliminate all the zombies, blow this creepy place to smithereens, and then we can leave town.”

With that, Zhao Rong led Lili, Yu Lan, Xuelian, and the assistant toward the mortuary.

Trailing behind him, a terrified Lili asked, ”Zhao Rong, what if we go in and get surrounded by the evil spirits inside?”

Yu Lan, who was afraid of zombies, added, ”Zhao Rong, I bet the mortuary is packed with zombies. That’s definitely what we’ll run into when we go inside.”

Xuelian kicked the assistant’s butt, pushing him to the front. ”Assistant, you take point. If you run into any zombies, use the Flamethrower. Got it?”

The assistant, who had been at the very back, was suddenly shoved into the lead position. He feigned composure and marched forward bravely. ”Miss Lili, Yu Lan, Xuelian, don’t worry! As long as I’m here, I’ll protect you!”

With that, he kicked open the mortuary doors and charged inside.

However, once all five of them were inside the strange hospital’s mortuary, they found no demons, monsters, or zombies. Looking at the empty room, Lili felt a strange chill. ”Zhao Rong, do you feel that? There’s a sinister, evil energy in here.”

Yu Lan thought she could hear the wails of countless dead. She whispered, ”Zhao Rong, can you hear that? It sounds like the dead are screaming all around us... It’s such a miserable sound.”

Xuelian pulled a pair of X-ray Goggles from her pocket, put them on, and began searching. ”All you evil spirits and zombies hiding in this mortuary, come on out!” she shouted. ”Otherwise, we’ll use the Flamethrower to burn this whole place to a pile of ashes!”

At her words, the assistant rushed forward with his Flamethrower. He sprayed fire wildly at every suspicious-looking spot in the mortuary.

Sure enough, after his fiery assault, an old man came hobbling out from a corner.

When Zhao Rong’s group of five saw the man, they were taken aback. He was plain-looking, but he bore a strange resemblance to Quasimodo, the grotesque bell-ringer of Notre Dame. They recoiled in terror and shouted, ”Damn it, who are you? Why do you look so much like Quasimodo?”

Leaning on his cane, the hideous old man advanced with a sneer on his face. ”You people have some nerve, barging into this creepy hospital alone. I see you don’t value your lives.”

Lili stepped forward, demanding, ”Damn it, who the hell are you? What are you doing in this hospital?”

The old man cackled. ”I’m the director of this hospital.”

Hearing that this grotesque man was the director of the eerie hospital, Yu Lan exclaimed in disbelief, ”Damn it! If you’re the director, why did you make this place so terrifying? It’s enough to scare someone to death!”

The ugly old man let out a wild laugh and slowly closed in on the group. ”This hospital hasn’t known a moment of peace since I became the director...”

The assistant stepped forward, leveling the Flamethrower at the approaching figure. ”Ugly old man, don’t come any closer!” he warned. ”Keep a safe distance, or I’ll use this Flamethrower to burn you to a crisp!”

At that moment, Zhao Rong, who had been observing the man carefully, suddenly exposed his lie. ”Thousand-year-old Zombie, cut the crap and show us your true form. You’re not human, and you’re certainly not the hospital’s director.”

When the three women heard Zhao Rong reveal the old man’s true identity, they asked in astonishment, ”Zhao Rong, how did you know he was a Thousand-year-old Zombie?”

Lili pulled out her Monster-Reflecting Mirror and shone it on the old man, but then cried out in surprise, ”Zhao Rong, why isn’t he revealing his true form under the mirror’s light?”

Yu Lan pulled out her Ghost-Beating Rod and flung it at the old man. ”Take this, you filthy zombie! I’ll beat you to death!”

Xuelian produced two cans of pepper spray from her pockets and unleashed them on the man. ”You may be a Thousand-year-old Zombie,” she said, ”but my pepper spray can still blind you!”

The assistant also opened fire, engulfing the old man in a torrent of flames from his Flamethrower.

However, no matter what Lili, Yu Lan, Xuelian, and the assistant threw at him, the hideous old man remained completely unharmed.

The grotesque man took a step forward and laughed maniacally. ”You mortals think you can kill me, a Thousand-year-old Zombie, with such ordinary weapons? How laughable!”

Just then, a package fell from the sky, landing at Zhao Rong’s feet.

As Zhao Rong bent to pick it up, he smiled at the others. ”To deal with this kind of Western zombie, we need specialized weaponry...”
