Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

However, when the assistant opened the door and saw the person at the entrance, he was so surprised that he stumbled and fell. Staring dumbfounded from the floor, he stammered, ”I distinctly heard the person knocking was a beautiful woman... But how did she suddenly turn into a rude brute?”

Before the assistant could finish his sentence, the burly man kicked him into the private room. He then pulled a dagger from his waist and threatened him, ”Damn it! You really thought you’d get such a good deal? Watching a video for six yuan with a beautiful woman for company? You must be dreaming.”

Kicked to the ground for no reason, the assistant was utterly confused. ”Bro, I have no quarrel with you. I’m just waiting for a beautiful woman to come in and watch a video with me. Why did you kick me and pull out a sharp dagger?”

Hearing that the assistant still hadn’t caught on, the burly man snapped his fingers and spoke to the men behind him. ”Brothers, we’ve got an idiot here. Let’s beat him up first, then take all his money.”

When the assistant heard the burly man’s words and saw the fierce-looking villains standing behind him, he instantly understood. He had been tricked into a den of thieves.

Realizing he’d been deceived, the assistant sprang up from the ground and issued a defiant warning to the burly men before him. ”I’ll let the trick slide for now, but first, I must warn you. Although I’m short and ugly, my kung fu is top-notch. And even though you guys are tall, fierce, and have daggers, you’re definitely no match for me. So, let me out. Otherwise, I’ll beat you so badly you’ll be crying for your parents and searching for your teeth on the floor!”

When the burly men heard this short, ugly man, who looked like an easy target, actually dare to warn them, they burst into laughter. ”You fool, you look so easy to bully, yet you dare to warn us? We’ll give you a good beating right now and take all your money!”

With that, the men charged at the assistant.

As the first man rushed him, the assistant grabbed the ashtray from the table and smashed it over his head. The man didn’t even have time to react before he was knocked out cold and slumped to the ground.

Seeing his opening move had gone well, the assistant laughed. ”I didn’t expect I’d become such a good fighter.”

Next, as the second burly man lunged with a dagger, the assistant snatched a kettle from the nightstand and smashed it on his head, knocking him to the floor.

Finally, when the third man charged with a machete, the assistant launched himself into a flying kick, sending him sprawling to the ground.

In less than thirty seconds, the assistant had taken care of all three men. He then swaggered out of the video hall.

As he stepped outside, he was surprised to find Zhao Rong standing at the entrance, waving at him. When the assistant saw Zhao Rong, he immediately thought to himself: Usually, it’s Brother Zhao Rong who does all the fighting and saving in our team. Today, I finally had my own moment of glory, taking down three guys all by myself. Now I finally have some bragging rights. I’ll go tell him what just happened so Brother Zhao Rong will admire me, maybe even look up to me!

However, before the assistant could reach him, Zhao Rong asked with a smile, ”Assistant, were you just tricked into a den of thieves?”

Hearing this, the assistant asked in surprise, ”Brother Zhao Rong, how did you know I was tricked and ended up in a den of thieves?”

Zhao Rong smiled again. ”Assistant, in that private room, did you happen to fight three burly men all by yourself?”

When the assistant realized Zhao Rong knew everything, he broke out in a cold sweat. ”Brother Zhao Rong,” he said in disbelief, ”it’s like you can read my mind! How do you know all this?”

Zhao Rong smiled and pulled a bottle of pills from his pocket. ”Assistant, take a look at this. What do you think it is?”

The assistant, confused, replied, ”Why does this look like some kind of digestive tablet?”

Zhao Rong shook his head. ”Assistant, these aren’t digestive tablets. These are Combat King Pills.”

When the assistant heard the name, he asked, puzzled, ”What kind of pills are they? Why are you showing them off to me?”

Zhao Rong smiled and explained, ”Assistant, here’s the thing. Once someone takes one of these pills, they become an incredible fighter for half an hour. What’s more, everything they do is displayed on the video feed on my phone.”

Listening to Zhao Rong, the assistant was stunned. He instantly understood why he had fought so well and how Brother Zhao Rong knew his every move. It turned out he had accidentally taken one of Brother Zhao Rong’s Combat King Pills.

However, what the assistant couldn’t figure out was when, how, or why he had eaten the pill.

As he stood there puzzled, Zhao Rong explained with a smile, ”Sorry, Assistant. When you were eating that bread earlier, I secretly slipped a Combat King Pill inside. Ever since we arrived at this post town, I noticed your eyes never left this video hall. So, I gave you a pill so that you could win any fight if you went inside. It also let me keep an eye on you and know if you were safe, so I could protect you.”

Hearing Zhao Rong’s explanation, the assistant finally understood everything.

But just as they were talking, Lili, who was eating candied haws nearby, was suddenly surrounded by three hoodlums.

When the assistant saw Lili from their team being harassed, he was furious and started to rush forward to help her. ”Brother Zhao Rong, this is outrageous! Since Lili is being bullied, I have to go over there and give those hoodlums a good beating!”

But before the assistant could finish, Zhao Rong pulled out the bottle of pills again and told him with a smile, ”Assistant, you don’t know, but I secretly had Lili eat one of these pills too. She can not only protect herself now, but she can also give those three hoodlums a thorough beating. Don’t you worry.”
