Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

Just as Zhao Rong finished rescuing his assistant—the two of them having worked together to eradicate over a thousand zombies—the sensor on his hand lit up again.

When he saw the sensor light up, Zhao Rong grew tense. ”Oh no,” he said, activating his GPRS locator. ”Someone’s calling for help again...”

A quick check revealed the signal was coming from the hospital’s Inpatient Department. The person sending the distress call was Miss Lili.

Zhao Rong immediately tossed a zombie killing gun to his assistant. ”Take care of these last three zombies,” he said urgently. ”I have to get to the Inpatient Department in that eerie hospital and rescue Miss Lili!”

With that, Zhao Rong used his GPRS-linked teleporter and vanished before his assistant’s eyes.

Seeing Zhao Rong disappear, the assistant gripped the zombie killing gun, aimed at the three remaining zombies, and said, ”You three stinking zombies! You thought you could trick me by turning into beautiful women... Now, I’ll send you to Western Heaven!”

He pulled the trigger, and the three zombies were instantly obliterated, turning into dust and smoke.

「Meanwhile.」

Faced with a danger she could not handle on her own, Miss Lili pressed the red button in her hand. A sense of relief washed over her. Turning to the zombies that had her surrounded, she smiled.

”You bunch of zombies, it’s completely useless to surround me... Brother Zhao Rong will be here any second to rescue me and eliminate all of you.”

But at that moment, Miss Lili’s zombie killing gun was out of bullets. Faced with the encroaching horde, she was completely helpless.

When the surrounding zombies realized her gun was empty, they tightened their encirclement, closing in on her. ”Your time’s up, miss. Stop trying to fool us by saying someone’s coming to save you.”

Miss Lili warned them, ”Just you wait! Brother Zhao Rong will definitely get here in time to save me! And while you’re at it, you should all prepare to die!”

Before she could even finish her sentence, Zhao Rong materialized beside her, having used his GPRS-linked teleporter.

When Miss Lili saw that he had indeed come to save her in the nick of time, she rushed into his arms, taking a deep, shuddering breath. ”Brother Zhao Rong, I knew you’d come for me! That’s why I wasn’t scared, not even for a second after my zombie killing gun ran out of ammo. I knew you would find me and save me.”

Zhao Rong held her close and comforted her, ”Don’t be afraid, Miss Lili. I’m here now. No one is going to hurt you.”

When the circle of zombies saw Zhao Rong appear out of thin air to rescue Miss Lili, they all gaped in astonishment.

The lead zombie stared with wide eyes, unable to believe it. ”How did you pinpoint her exact location to get here?”

Another zombie nearby seemed even more amazed. ”Where on earth did you pop out from? Did you come out of the ceiling?”

Before they could finish, Zhao Rong laughed. ”You’re all about to die, and you’re still full of questions.”

Seeing Zhao Rong threaten them, the zombies began to jeer. ”There are dozens of us and only two of you humans. You’re the ones who are about to die, not us!”

One of the zombies let out a wild cackle. ”You may have a zombie killing gun, but we’ve already become immune to it! So go ahead and shoot. It won’t do you any good!”

Miss Lili quickly confirmed this. ”Brother Zhao Rong, they’re telling the truth! When I shot at them earlier with my zombie killing gun, I only managed to kill a few of them. I couldn’t eliminate the rest. Once I ran out of bullets, they surrounded me. Brother Zhao Rong, you have to open the Paradise Shopping Cart and buy a really powerful weapon, one that these zombies aren’t immune to! It’s the only way to completely eliminate them.”

Before she could finish, Zhao Rong produced a small flamethrower and smiled. ”Miss Lili, I think you’re overestimating them. Even if the zombie killing guns don’t work, as long as we have this flamethrower, we can still slaughter them without a trace.”

When the surrounding zombies saw him take out the flamethrower, they roared with laughter. ”You dumbass human, you’re going to use a flamethrower on us? Don’t you know we’ve been tempered through a thousand trials? Forget the flamethrower; even if you brought Samadhi Fire, you couldn’t handle us. We’re like true gold—unafraid of the forge!”

Miss Lili tugged at his sleeve. ”Brother Zhao Rong, you don’t understand. These zombies left in the Inpatient Department are the strongest ones in this whole eerie hospital. Neither the zombie killing gun nor a flamethrower can stop them. You have to buy an incredibly powerful weapon, or all this will be for nothing! It’ll be like trying to carry water in a bamboo basket.”

Listening to her, Zhao Rong looked at the circle of zombies and asked them, ”So, you zombies really aren’t afraid of a flamethrower?”

Before he even finished speaking, the zombies puffed out their chests with confidence. ”Go ahead! Burn us all you want! We won’t even try to dodge or resist. True gold does not fear the flame, and we certainly don’t fear your flamethrower!”

”Since you’re not afraid,” Zhao Rong said, ”let’s give it a try.”

The zombies jeered, ”Try it, then! Bring it on!”

With that, Zhao Rong raised the portable mini-flamethrower, aimed it at the crowd of zombies before him, and unleashed a wild spray of fire.
