Super Tycoon: I Beg You, Stop Pulling Stunts

Chapter 395: Chapter 257: The Father and Son, Each a Bigger Braggart Than the Other

Lin Chu casually took it and smiled. ”I run a small business in Peng City.”

”Aiya, Peng City is a great place! And you’re already a boss... Come on, come on, have a seat. Let’s sit and chat.”

As they exchanged pleasantries, Lin Chu took a seat, his mind already working to figure out their true intentions.

’Who the fuck has ”old friends” they haven’t seen in over a decade?’

’It’s not like they were building missiles for the country.’

Zhang Dahong had the look of a man steeped in wine, women, and wealth. Without even asking, Lin Chu knew he had to be a businessman.

The poor have no friends even in the busiest city, but the rich have relatives even in the deepest mountains.

Lin Chu even suspected for a moment that this visit was for him. Although the man was making small talk, Lin Chu’s sharp eyes had caught a fleeting moment of stiffness in his demeanor.

’An elder, acting stiff in front of a junior?’

’Something was clearly off.’

”What kind of business are you in, Uncle Zhang?”

Lin Chu asked with a smile after sitting down and taking a sip of tea.

”Hahaha, me? I’m in a bit of a gray-area business. I run a few foot massage parlors.”

Zhang Dahong lit a cigarette and said with a grin, not at all shy about it.

”Hey, how can you call foot massages a gray-area business? It’s the best damn business there is! You make money, and you get to play with women.”

Lin Haifu boomed with laughter, his comment completely unrestrained.

Lin Chu: ...Er.

’My dad is really something else!’

’The very picture of a nouveau riche.’

’But... what could he do?’

’He was his father, after all.’

He himself had at least gone to college. Although he felt like he hadn’t learned shit, he had read a lot and possessed a certain level of refinement. After getting through his own initial phase of new wealth, he was gradually adjusting his mentality.

His dad, on the other hand, was already set in his ways. This was who he was for life.

Lin Chu had no desire to change him, nor did he feel his father was classless. As long as he was happy, that was all that mattered.

The three men couldn’t help but laugh.

”What kind of business are you in, Ah Chu?”

Zhang Dahong now asked, a wide grin on his face.

Lin Chu’s expression was calm as he replied humbly, ”Oh, just streaming and stuff. Making a little pocket money.”

”My son! He has ten million followers! A huge influencer, an absolutely huge influencer! His girlfriend’s family is in real estate, and her father is a big-shot official... Hahaha, all the money I have, my son gave it to me. The kid is so filial!”

Lin Haifu roared with laughter, clearly bullshitting.

’He knew about my streaming, sure.’

’But the girlfriend, the father-in-law... that was all pure fantasy on his part.’

Lin Chu glanced at him, once again not knowing whether to laugh or cry. ’My dad’s an even bigger bullshitter than I am.’

’He really had the fucking balls to say that!’

But at that moment, Lin Chu also realized that his father’s ”revealing the family fortune” was probably not just reckless blustering. It wasn’t that he couldn’t keep his mouth shut; he had likely guessed something and was saying it all on purpose.

’The old man’s a cunning one!’

”Oh?”

”Impressive, impressive...”

”I’ll have to toast you a few extra times later. Now that’s a big business, hahaha, much better than what I’m doing.”

A flicker of something passed through Zhang Dahong’s eyes, and his attitude suddenly became a few degrees more reserved and respectful.

”Not at all, not at all...”

”You’re joking, Uncle Zhang.”

Lin Chu deflected casually, offering him a cigarette with a smile.

But he was still wondering, ’What’s the story with this ”old friend”?’

”Old Zhang, do you know how to play mahjong? Come on, let’s play a couple of rounds. It’s still early for dinner!”

His dad suddenly spoke up.

Zhang Dahong sniffed. ”Sure, let’s play! Ah Chu, do you know how?”

”Not really. You guys go ahead.”

”Are we playing for money?”

”No playing for money. If you gamble, I’ll call the cops. Dad, you haven’t been playing much lately, have you? Don’t let me find out, or I’ll definitely have you sent in for a couple of days. It’ll be a good chance to kick your smoking and drinking habits.”

Lin Chu said with a smile that didn’t quite reach his eyes.

Hearing this, the atmosphere suddenly became a little awkward.

Lin Haifu rubbed his nose and chuckled sheepishly. ”Then we won’t play, hahaha... Sorry, Old Zhang. Sigh, he who pays the piper calls the tune. This kid has no respect for his elders, lecturing his own father like a son! You little brat, when are you going to give your old man a grandchild to hold!”

Lin Chu’s words still carried a lot of weight, so he immediately changed the subject.

Lin Chu: ...

’You really never let yourself lose an argument, do you!’

”Give me a hundred million. I’ll get married tomorrow, and I guarantee you’ll have a grandchild to hold within a year.”

Lin Chu said with a cheeky grin.

”Get lost!”

”Where the fuck am I supposed to get a hundred million for you!”

”Get out, get out, get out! If you’re not going to get a wife and have kids, then don’t even bother coming back! Just looking at you gives me a headache!”

Lin Haifu waved his hand and cursed.

Seeing that the father and son seemed about to have a real fight, Zhang Dahong quickly stepped in with a smile, placating both sides with a few comforting words.

The conversation then fell into a more normal rhythm.

Lin Chu seized the opportunity and, as if it were nothing, nonchalantly took a photo of his dad and Zhang Dahong together. He then casually sent the picture to Gao Haitao.

”Run a check on a guy named Zhang Dahong. This is what he looks like. Should be from Guangdong. Asap.”

Gao Haitao: ”Received. Ten minutes.”

A short while later, Lin Chu received Zhang Dahong’s personal information.

As expected, it was exactly the profession he had imagined—a junket operator!

His identity was confirmed.

And with that, his reason for being here became crystal clear.

You know what?

In all likelihood, he was really here for him.

After all, it wasn’t uncommon for wealthy people to be dragged into trouble by their family members.

His dad was probably aware of this too, which was why he had put on that display of intimidation earlier. He might have even been trying to bait the man, thinking he was an old pro who could show off his skills.

”Get ten of our guys over to my house. I’ve got a job for them.”

This kind of thing was annoying, but for Lin Chu, it was a problem that could be solved with a single message, which he casually sent to Gao Haitao.

This branch of the Security Group was proving to be quite useful, helping him handle all sorts of trouble in a timely manner.

”Okay, send me the address.”

Gao Haitao replied quickly.

Lin Chu sent him the address and then completely relaxed, continuing to shoot the shit with them with a smile.
