Super Tycoon: I Beg You, Stop Pulling Stunts

Chapter 379: Chapter 252: You Really Are a Bad Person

Gao Haitao, however, took the initiative to walk over and get a business card from each of them.

Since he was running a security company, it was inevitable they would have dealings in the future.

Gao Haitao had a great attitude, so they didn’t refuse him.

Lin Chu watched this unfold, shaking his head with a smile. ’That Old Gao is really something. He never misses even the smallest opportunity.’

’Then again, it makes sense.’

’I’ve already given them full authority. Other than funding and major issues, I barely interfere with the security company’s development. What it becomes is all on him, so of course he has to cultivate every single connection.’

...

”What are your plans for the next couple of days? Are you really going to speculate on stocks?”

After the two men left and they had resettled in the tea room, Jackie Chan hesitated slightly but decided to ask the question anyway.

He himself wouldn’t stoop to looting a burning house. As for Lin Chu, like he’d said earlier, it was a personal investment, and he didn’t want to interfere.

It’s just that this whole affair was far too complex—not a purely commercial matter.

The manipulations had gone too far. Something big was bound to happen.

Lin Chu smiled, pressing his lips together. ”I was just speaking off the cuff. I haven’t gotten into the capital market yet. I mainly focus on real-world industries, and I don’t have the right talent on hand for it at the moment.”

However, he knew it was actually quite necessary for him. It could serve as one of his capital pools, and choosing some stocks for long-term holding would be a way to diversify his investments.

”I suggest you stay away from the Zhuang Family’s business. Whether it’s the stock market or their actual industries, it’s all very troublesome. The web of connections involved is just too vast.”

”Higher powers will be intervening in this matter very soon. Whether it’s the second or third son, or their two uncles—this time, they’ve all taken it too far. The nature of this is vicious.”

Jackie Chan gave Lin Chu a meaningful look as he offered the casual reminder.

Hm?

At those words, Lin Chu’s heart couldn’t help but stir.

’Looks like he’s got some inside information. He didn’t spell it out, but he still revealed a little.’

’If I really were to dive in headfirst, it might not be a good thing.’

’The higher-ups are watching closely.’

’And I’d also have to face potential retaliation from the Zhuang Family.’

’If I can’t strike the right balance, I’ll most likely end up losing both my life and my fortune.’

”Alright, I understand.”

”Sigh, making money is so hard.”

Lin Chu let out a sigh with a smile.

Jackie Chan: ...

’You think it’s hard?!’

’You’re so young, and you’re already worth tens of billions!’

’Of course, he also knew Lin Chu was probing him—asking if there were any good business opportunities available.’

’That kind of thinking wasn’t a big deal, though.’

’Still a bit forward, though.’

The gears in Jackie Chan’s mind had just begun to turn, but before he could come up with anything, he heard Lin Chu laugh again. ”Ah, forget it. You’re retired, why am I asking you about this? You should just be drinking tea, enjoying meals, and relaxing.”

”Come play ball at my place when you’re free. I should be heading back in the next day or two.”

Lin Chu knew when to stop and proactively reeled the conversation back.

Jackie Chan poured a cup of tea and smiled. ”Sure. I’ll definitely be at the opening ceremony. A friendly appearance, of course.”

But Lin Chu refused. ”That won’t do. Business is business.”

’The friendship, it seemed, was tentatively established.’

’It might prove useful in the future.’

As he was drinking tea and chatting idly with Jackie Chan, Lin Chu’s eyes flickered. He had just seen a message from Kang Hao.

”Brother Chu, did Zhuang Yingcheng die in a car crash last night?”

He sent a link.

He had only found out about it today from a group chat’s history. When Zhuang Yingcheng didn’t reply to his messages, he decided to ask Lin Chu.

”The news should be true. Sigh... What’s wrong?”

Lin Chu replied casually.

Kang Hao: ”He still owes me money... *sob* *sob*”

Lin Chu: ...

”So what? Are you going to go down and get it from him?”

’Why is he telling me this?’

’What a little brat, seriously!’

Kang Hao: !!!

’What kind of dark humor is that!’

”...Three hundred million! I borrowed it from my parents! He said he needed to buy back stocks! It’s not just me; he borrowed from basically everyone else in the United Youth Association. In total, he raised about four billion! It’s a good thing you didn’t join. If you had, you probably would have lent him money too.”

Kang Hao typed, sounding indignant.

The agreed-upon interest wasn’t low—it was comparable to a loan shark’s rate—but they had still lent it to him. After all, they were all in it together. And everyone knew how powerful the Zhuang Family was. If he could have bought back the shares and regained control of the company at such a critical moment, paying the money back would have been a piece of cake.

It’s just, no one ever thought something like this would happen.

Now, he had left a huge mess behind.

”Where’s the money?”

”Why not just go and get it back?”

Lin Chu replied casually.

”I happen to know he deposited it in a foreign bank, but he was super paranoid and didn’t trust anyone. He handled the stock buybacks all by himself! He had plenty of girlfriends, but no children. Damn... I guess I’ll go ask my parents first. This is so annoying!”

Kang Hao typed nonchalantly, his words clearly showing he had a loose tongue.

For a moment, Lin Chu wasn’t sure if Kang Hao was just venting and sharing gossip, or if he was trying to dig another pit for him to fall into.

’But on second thought,’ Lin Chu mused, ’with his level of intelligence and disposition, he probably isn’t capable of digging a pit for someone.’

After exchanging a few more messages with him, Lin Chu ended the chat. By then, the tea was finished, and Lin Chu returned home.

He was still a little curious.

He opened his contacts list and sent a message to his lawyer, Li Haohong.

—Ah Xiong, what happens to a rich person’s anonymous deposit in a foreign bank after they die?

Li Haohong replied quickly: ”You need a court order and have to go through inheritance notarization procedures to withdraw it. But you have to pay a lot in inheritance tax. There was a famous case before: a tycoon had 40 billion on deposit in a Swiss Bank. He died suddenly without a will and hadn’t made any arrangements for the money. The heir was eventually determined, but in the end, they had to pay 30 billion in inheritance tax. There’s nothing you can do... The money is under their jurisdiction, and he didn’t take care of it before he died.”
