Super Tycoon: I Beg You, Stop Pulling Stunts

Chapter 389: Chapter 255: The Next Topic: Romantic Love

’First day in the new office, and Lin Chu is already back to thinking about the company’s next development strategy?’

’He’s always preparing for a rainy day.’ a

Inside the office, Lin Chu watched her turn and leave but paid her no mind. He turned back to the whiteboard, his thoughts gradually drifting.

’What if I were like Zhuang Yingcheng? What if I walk out tonight and get hit by a car and die? What regrets would I have?’

It was a philosophical concept: to live with death in mind.

But death is the ultimate focal point of any life. Thinking about it wasn’t so bad. At the very least, death was the sole, constant point of reference on the long journey of life.

And so...

Lin Chu sat for a long while, until he finished his last cigarette.

He casually sent Jiang Ya a message: ”I bought a private jet. You’ll have a stable job waiting for you next year when you graduate.”

She had seen all the gossip he’d been stirring up about himself lately, but a few words of explanation were all it took for her to believe him. She was just as naive as the day they first met.

At that moment, Jiang Ya was in class at the Civil Aviation Academy. When she saw the message, she froze. Her heart hammered in her chest, her breath caught in her throat, and a faint blush crept onto her pretty face.

’A private jet?’

’She knew Lin Chu’s business was a big deal, but she never imagined it had reached this level.’

To be honest, all that stuff online about the LC Club and whatnot felt completely removed from her world.

The only concepts she could really grasp were ”top streamer with tens of millions of fans” and, now, ”private jet.”

’A plane!’

’Hundreds of millions!’

”Huh? What model is it? How much did it cost?”

She replied, a little flustered.

Lin Chu smiled. ”The same model as Musk. A Gulfstream G650. 470 million. I’ve already placed the order. It should be delivered around the middle of next year, which is right about when you graduate.”

Starting from that point of ’being-towards-death,’ his thoughts began to clarify. The thesis and antithesis were slowly merging into a single whole.

’Womanizing isn’t a moral failing; it’s a display of capability.’

’Being able to make several women coexist peacefully—never mind what they do behind your back, as long as they’re harmonious in your presence—isn’t that a form of strength in itself?’

’The price, of course, is that it requires far more time and effort.’

’But this is the path I’ve chosen.’

”Wow... Where did you get that much money?”

For the first time, the sheer scale of Lin Chu’s wealth hit Jiang Ya with stunning clarity. The same model as Musk!

Lin Chu: ”I earned it, of course. What, you think I robbed a bank? Anyway, I just wanted to give you a heads-up. Study hard.”

Jiang Ya: ”Okay! [Image] I’m in class right now. I’ll talk to you tonight.”

She sent a photo of her classroom.

Lin Chu glanced at it and replied patiently, ”Okay, focus on your class. I’m busy too, but I squeezed in a moment to chat with you.”

”Mhm, mwah.”

The chat ended.

Lin Chu thought for a moment, then on the whiteboard, he wrote next to Jiang Ya’s name: Xiangjiang.

The private jet would definitely be based in Xiangjiang. It would be more convenient in every respect.

Geography. That was the most convenient factor for his operations.

’If you can weave a beautiful dream that lasts a lifetime, making a woman believe you only and always love her, how is that not a form of pure love?’

...

Next was Fang Yichun.

She was well-prepared for his ”philandering.” After all, her sister, Zhao Rong, had taught her a lot about the harsh realities of the world, though she hadn’t been completely jaded by them yet.

She was in Yang City, still a student.

As for anything else, Lin Chu wasn’t in a hurry. She was even younger, having just come of age.

For now, there was no need to send her any messages.

...

Yang Huixian. He’d spoken to her a few days ago. She was about to start flying all over the country to open offline stores for LC Retail, her main focus on her work.

...

Liao Meili... She was a bona fide heiress, but she had a strong personality and a bit of a temper. They had no business overlap, aside from the guest room services at the LC Club, but that deal hadn’t gone through yet due to contract issues.

”My dad’s pressuring me to get married.”

Lin Chu mused, then sent her a casual message.

「A moment later.」

Liao Meili finally replied, ”What exactly did he say?”

’Answering a question with a question is a polite refusal.’ Lin Chu shook his head with a small smile and replied, ”He was very stern, his words very harsh. He said he’d disown me if I don’t get married. So... any thoughts?”

She went silent for another ten seconds or so before sending a sticker: [Feeling the pressure (with a picture of a duck)].

”So you’re not willing, is that it? You’re an American citizen, and I’ve seen my fair share of American TV shows. Normally, according to mainstream values over there, when a woman is proposed to by her boyfriend, she’s usually so happy and excited she cries—if she loves him enough, that is. After all, marriage means a man has to give up so much. Since this is your reaction, I understand what you’re trying to say. Ms. Liao, being friends is a perfectly fine option too.”

Lin Chu sent back a long reply, laying out all his reasoning and speaking his mind directly.

’The impression she’d given him the past few times wasn’t very good, to be honest.’

’They were a good match in terms of social standing, sure.’

’But that whole concept was something he really didn’t need to consider anymore.’

’Rather than letting things devolve into chaotic internal conflict, it was better to make a clean break.’

’She wasn’t helpful to his career, she wasn’t emotionally nourishing... was this relationship really supposed to be sustained by physical attraction alone?’

Liao Meili: ”...”

”Can you be a little more emotionally stable? Why are you so impulsive, just doing whatever pops into your head?! Who talks about dating like this? Who talks about marriage like this? What do you take me for?”

”Besides... if I were to marry you, it would have to be based on complete love. I would have to be absolutely, one hundred percent positive that you love me with all your heart—even more than my own parents love me. And right now, I don’t see that. You’re just using me as a tool to complete a task for your parents.”
