Super Tycoon: I Beg You, Stop Pulling Stunts

Chapter 394: Chapter 257: One Bigger Braggart Than the Other

Wang Hao, however, was listening with surging passion, his heart once again filled with boundless motivation.

”You’re really something else, Cousin. You’ve been through tough times too. It really wasn’t easy for you.”

”Hey, did you cry back then?”

Lin Chu laughed heartily.

”Cry? Of course I cried! I cried until I ran out of fucking tears. But I never cried in front of anyone. It was always at night when I got home, crying in the shower and letting the tears wash away with the water... Or I’d cry into my pillow at night, hiding under the covers.”

”If you’ve never cried your heart out in the dead of night, what right do you have to talk about life?”

Wang Hao gave him a deep look. He pictured the scene, then looked at the Lin Chu of today and couldn’t help but smile.

’So Cousin had his pathetic moments too.’

The future is yet to be decided!

We’re all dark horses!

...

They chatted the whole way, with Lin Chu bragging and dishing out motivational speeches the entire time.

’What can I teach him?’

’All I can do is fill him with this positive energy. At least, that’s all I can do for him at this stage.’

The car got off the highway and entered the city.

”Cousin, I want to stop by a mall and buy something for my dad. I want to get him a new motorcycle. He’s been riding that old one for who knows how many years. It’s time for a new one. I can’t afford a nice car yet, but when I make some money, I’ll follow your example and buy Dad an Audi.”

Wang Hao asked softly, a smile on his lips.

Lin Chu glanced at him and, after a moment, couldn’t help but smile.

”If you’re going to buy one, let’s get a good one. I’ll pay. Let’s just get an Audi A4, or a BMW 3-series. It just can’t be better than my dad’s, or he’ll get jealous. What do you want to buy? It’s on me.”

’It’s just a matter of a few hundred thousand. Buying it is no big deal.’

’I’ve given away so many cars on my livestreams, why be stingy with my own relative?’

”Huh?”

”Oh, oh! Then... then, how about an electric car? Is a Tesla okay?”

Wang Hao’s face flushed red, feeling a deep sense of kinship.

My parents gave me life.

’Cousin is like a second father.’

”Are you an idiot? Where are you going to find a Tesla dealership around here? Alright, let’s just go with the Audi A4. Come on, let’s go pick it up. You can afford the gas and insurance for your dad, right?”

Lin Chu said with a smile.

And so, less than an hour later, one car had become two. Wang Hao drove in front with Lin Chu following behind as they headed toward the village.

To get rich and not return to your hometown is like wearing silk finery in the dead of night.

’Though, to be honest, the villagers’ approval doesn’t mean a damn thing to me. But it feels good, and it helps create a stable and comfortable retirement for my dad.’

The environment in his hometown had barely changed from his school days until now.

The last time he came back, there were many people playing cards under the large tree at the village entrance.

It was still the same now.

Only, his dad wasn’t here anymore.

”You head home first. I’m going home too. We’ll talk later.”

After sending Wang Hao a message, Lin Chu drove toward his house, watched by a curious crowd of old men and women.

The main gate to his house was open. Several cars were parked at the entrance, including one from out of town with a Yue C license plate.

Lin Chu glanced over. For a moment, his heart stirred, and his brow furrowed slightly.

’What’s going on?’

After he walked in, a middle-aged auntie came rushing out, looking quite cheerful. Lin Chu recognized her as one of his dad’s ”friends.” ”Aunt Li, what’s going on?”

”Ah Chu? You’re back?”

”Haha, hurry on in. Your dad has some friends over from out of town, and he asked me to cook. I’m going to buy groceries. What would you like to eat?”

Lin Chu waved his hand. ”Anything’s fine with me. Just get whatever you think is best. I’m going to go see my dad first.”

The living room on the first floor.

Before Lin Chu even entered, he heard his dad’s booming voice from inside. ”Old Zhang, it’s been ages! You son of a bitch, you’ve become a big boss now, haven’t you! Impressive! To think you’d even remember me. So, spit it out. What’s up?”

His dad was speaking in the local dialect, but Lin Chu naturally understood it.

Immediately after, another low voice, tinged with a smile, spoke up. ”I was just in the area for business. I saw on your Douyin that you’re living quite the life, so I thought I’d drop by for a meal and a few drinks... Hahaha...”

Listening to this, Lin Chu got the gist of the situation. ’An ”old friends reunion”?’

’But...’

’Yue C.’

’Tsk.’

”Dad, I’m home!”

Lin Chu strode into the living room and saw a group of people, men and women, gathered around the sofa drinking tea.

There were three people on his dad’s side: his dad himself, and two heavily made-up women he didn’t recognize. He had no idea who they were.

On the other side were two men—one in his fifties with a potbelly—and a young woman in her early twenties wearing a professional skirt suit, black stockings, and high heels, likely a secretary or someone similar.

’What is this, some sleazy, middle-aged man’s drinking party?’

’Like father, like fucking son, I guess.’

Lin Chu thought, not knowing whether to laugh or cry.

In any case, one thing was certain: his dad was definitely not a ”good person” in the traditional sense, but you couldn’t call him a ”village tyrant” either. He was more of a ”mover and shaker” in the village.

”Why didn’t you call ahead?”

Seeing his son suddenly walk in, Lin Haifu looked a little incredulous. A smile immediately appeared on his face, but his words were a less-than-polite greeting.

”I wanted to give you a surprise...”

”Hello, sir. What should I call you?”

Lin Chu said with a smile, then turned to the paunchy man and asked nonchalantly.

”An old friend of mine from over a decade ago. We were migrant workers together in Yang City. Haven’t seen him in years. This is Zhang Dahong, your Uncle Zhang.”

Zhang Dahong, a simple and honest smile on his face, immediately offered him a cigarette. ”You must be Xiaochu, right? Look how big you’ve gotten. A fine, handsome young man. Where are you working now?”
