Super Tycoon: I Beg You, Stop Pulling Stunts

Chapter 352: Chapter 244: Youthful Righteousness, Youthful Ruthlessness

”Lu Feng will be bringing the money back in cash. As for how you wish to distribute it, that’s your business.”

He sucked in a breath.

Lin Chu was shaken.

Truly shaken.

’As expected of a security giant with fifty thousand official employees. That kind of power is truly terrifying. It’s not something you can achieve just with money. It takes years of operation, enough of a deterrent presence, and having your own people in every sector.’

”Alright. I’ll wire the final payment immediately. I’m very satisfied with your efficiency. If possible, I’d like to speak with someone from your company’s senior management.”

Lin Chu said casually.

’I want to get into this industry myself. Over in Peng City, there’s Gao Haitao’s boss. Here in Xiangjiang, there’s Shenlong Security. Although they’d be a ”competitor,” they’re both legitimate companies, and Shenlong is a giant. In the early stages, if I could build some sort of relationship with them—even if I have to pay for it—it would be a huge help in getting things done.’

”Of course, sir. I will relay your request to my superiors. You should hear back within three days, so please keep an eye out for our call. Have a wonderful day. Goodbye.”

The person on the other end hung up, quick and decisive.

Lin Chu hadn’t expected the matter to be resolved so cleanly and efficiently. In that moment, his appreciation for the importance of a professional security firm rose to a whole new level.

As the saying goes: with money comes power.

’I’ve got the money part down.’

’But the power part is just getting started.’

’I still have a long way to go.’

The logic between money and power was also quite clear.

If you have power, you definitely have money.

But the reverse isn’t necessarily true. Power requires careful cultivation. Besides, the extent of your own influence is really determined by the strength of your enemies.

Take Lu Feng, for instance. He was kidnapped in Southeast Asia. If it had happened in America, it might not have been so easy to resolve.

...

”Jackie, I’ve already taken care of that business from last night’s stream. Sorry to have bothered you with it, just wanted to let you know.”

Lin Chu sent the message to Jackie Chan. He didn’t know if Jackie had already acted on it, but since it was resolved, he wanted to prevent him from taking any unnecessary action.

’Of course, it would be best if he hadn’t done anything yet. But it didn’t really matter. It wasn’t his problem to begin with.’

He sent the message and quickly received a reply from Jackie Chan.

He sent a photo.

It was a picture of him having tea.

”I’m having tea with an old friend and happened to ask about it for you. They’re a bit slow, though, and haven’t located him yet. Good to hear it’s resolved. I’ll leave it be, then.”

Reading the message, Lin Chu was momentarily taken aback, but a smile couldn’t help but touch his lips.

’See?’

’That’s a true ’big brother’ for you.’

’He never makes any promises out loud, but behind the scenes, he’s already on the move.’

Lin Chu could guess how he’d handled it, too.

For a ”small matter” like this, it wasn’t worth making a big fuss. He’d just meet up with an old friend in the relevant field for tea, mention it casually, and the problem would basically be solved.

”Thanks for the trouble. I ended up hiring a professional security firm, Shenlong Group. It wasn’t expensive—only two million—and they got it done. I hired them this morning, and by the afternoon, they’d already found and rescued him.”

Lin Chu replied, realizing it might make Jackie lose a bit of face.

’But it didn’t matter.’

’He definitely wouldn’t be petty about something like this.’

”OK then. As long as everything’s fine. Tea?”

”Sure.”

”Come to my place. House 54.”

Since he’d been invited for tea, Lin Chu was naturally going to go. He gave Zhang Peng a few instructions, confirming the models for the private jet and yacht so they could give the companies an answer later. Then, Lin Chu headed out. Since they were in the same luxury residential complex, there was no need to drive; he could just walk over.

It was noon, but the path was shaded by the mountain’s tree-lined canopy, the leaves overhead blocking nearly all the sun. In the occasional clearing, he could even see the ocean. The walk was quite pleasant.

’I haven’t worked out in a while.’

’Ever since my abs started to faintly show, I’ve gotten lazy and haven’t been as focused on it.’

’Mostly, my private life hasn’t been that wild lately. I’m not playing the field every night, so I’ve saved a lot of energy. I’ve been drinking less, too. My lifestyle has actually become much more regular, and my abs have even gotten more defined.’

He checked a sign to confirm the direction to House 54. There was still a ways to go, so Lin Chu simply pulled off his T-shirt and started running shirtless down the path.

’No particular reason.’

’I just felt like running.’

’It wasn’t a matter of propriety.’

’What, is it illegal to be shirtless in Xiangjiang or something?’

The oncoming wind felt cool and pleasant on his face. His powerful body made him feel like he had boundless energy.

Besides, good news always puts you in a good mood.

He was young and in his prime, with luxury cars and clothes, private jets and mansions. He was fit, healthy, and full of vigor.

...

House 54 was now in sight. Lin Chu pulled his T-shirt back on and strolled leisurely toward it.

The bronze gate had an antique feel. A woman was already waiting at the entrance. She wasn’t a Filipino maid, but a middle-aged woman with a long, thick braid. Her clothes were simple, but her face was kind.

Lin Chu’s heart stirred. Three words quietly surfaced in his mind: self-combed woman.

A strange feeling came over him.

He’d seen characters like her in old movies plenty of times, but this was his first time seeing one in real life.

’To be honest,’ he thought, ’this is the absolute top tier in the world of domestic help. They’re practically family—infinitely better than any Filipino maid.’

’Of course, the cultural soil for such a tradition no longer exists on the mainland. Only a few vestiges remained in Xiangjiang, and even there, they were surely few and far between.’
